Should have sequenced it Flanders in RD13 and then Zorko rather than grabbing Zorko in RD13 but was scared about Dowling/Dawson being omitted, injuries elsewhere, etc.

Need to find some downgrade targets for the likes of Wilson, Moyle and Garcia. Possibly Wilson to Blight (via Fisher) to open the Fisher and Dawson link. Trade Moyle via Jackson and Fyfe to move Fyfe back to the fwd line for ? mid rookie to allow approx $500k to turn Garcia into Flanders via Dowling. Daniel/Fyfe can serve as F7/M9 with Fisher able to move back to cover any def injuries.
Could do the following for 19 players this round
Out: Moyle, Wilson and Garcia
In: G Payne (via Livingstone), S Flanders and J Blight (via Z Fisher)

Could allow Garcia and Sullivan to rookie and Merrett next round to push say Oliver to the bench as mid coverage for the remainder of the season but a def/mid premium may be more suitable.

Crows don't need to risk Rankine before the bye.

I'll probably go with no trades unless he plays.

Moyle > Dowling
Garcia > Rankine'

Coaches are perennially optimistic, as fans we know they are no chance but Nicks will think they can still play finals. So if anything they desperately need to play him before the byes if they can. Obviously if he's named he's fully fit IMO. It's very rare for coaching/medical staff to get it as wrong as Port did with Rozee. Not to mention rozee was rushed back, but ranking will have had 28 days break by the time Crows play Swans

Unless there's something that suggests Witts will miss again in R15, it will be:

Moyle + Comben
to
Heeney or Ryan + Dowling

See if I need a DEF or FWD upgrade more
Why is everyone going early on Dowling, you don't have round 15 problems??

Dunno whether to hold or trade Sexton either. Powell is due back from suspension after the BYE and one of Sexton/Uwland/Jeffrey probably makes way. Or maybe they send Flanders to mid/fwd again to accomodate powell. As a sexton owner it was bad timing for Uwland to have a career game! Would be a very annoying hold over his Bye if got dropped for round 15.

Comben -> Kreuger
Graham -> Whitfield
Oliver -> Gulden

$69.2K ITB and 7 trades. Structurally, leaves Sullivan at M8 and Sexton at F6. Will take Richards down to Dowling next week if he looks good enough to free up some cash and put Zorko back in the fwds with Flanders (could even do Dowling instead of Kreuger). Went into Whitfield at D6 due to his price and already had his bye. Could pay up for Houston, however with only Freijah on the bench currently playing, might need to save up a kitty to get those final upgrades in. Which defenders would others recommend? Would have 550k max but as said would affect finishing the team up the line.

As a Pies man, Fly loves Krueger's effort and with the amount of injuries we have, could be good to hold for a few weeks. Not really a lot of viable FWD downgrade options (except potentially Dowling mentioned above). However, Kreuger's injury history is quite concerning and he isn't going to kick 3 every week.

If I hold onto Comben and go into Whitfield next week, am concerned with Comben's 93 BE but also last week's score against WCE was extremely frustrating. On the counter, he is playing and with Whitfield's 113 BE, the difference might only be marginal (and other defenders such as Houstons 157 BE) could become more appealing next week.

Any suggestions?

Trying to work out who to bring in out of Sheezel and Ryan, Sheezel saves 100K but Simpkin in meant Sheezel went from 23/26 CBA's last game to 9/23 this game. This week wardlaw, simpkin and LDU were the clear 3 main mids with powell and Sheezel getting the left-overs. Sheez played mid-fwd role for 129 but he won't play the eagles every week, so if that role sticks with Simpkin back i can see his scoring tacking quite a hit. Bringing in Ryan would also likely cause me cashflow problems trying to get zorko in next week whereas sheez in and i'd definately be fine). Zorko against St.kilda is so tempting but with a 185 breakeven it seems crazy to bring him in...
Speaking of Simpkin... $361.9k M/F

Current count has me with 17 premiums and a couple of rookies.

I've worked hard to have a good spread of players from the first two bye-rounds, think I've only had 20 playing each of the last two weeks.

That, along with trading in players who have served their bye already should mean I'm ok.

Walsh > Butters
Steele > Zorko
McAuliffe > Dowling

Then aiming to do in Round 15:
Moore > Ridley
Sullivan > Merrett
Freijah > 102k M/F

With predictions of Sullivan going 70, 70; Freijah 60; and Moore 85, I have 8k spare after all of this. Obviously Sullivan plays tomorrow and I can react to how he scores. Moore and Freijah both play before Dowling. So assuming I can field 18 without Dowling, I can see what those 2 (Moore and Freijah) score and I’ll know what Sullivan needs to score to be able to make the final trades work. If that number is too high then I’ll look at trading in a 102k player instead of Dowling.

I could wait on the Zorko trade in if I wanted to be certain I can afford everything. Will have a BE of around 185 but he plays the Saints. Would trade in the 102k M/F this week and Zorko in round 15. Would lose a lot of points and I’m likely to VC him this week so I think I’d like to just jump on now.

Doing these trades would actually see me finish with 7 defenders and 7 mids which I’m fine with. I see Ridley as the best option in that price range out of every position that doesn’t have the round 15. Also adds extra flexibility.
Walsh > Butters
Steele > Zorko
McAuliffe > Dowling/102k

I estimate that Moore, Sullivan, and Freijah needs to combine for ~250 to afford the trade ins I want next week, if I opt for Dowling. If I opt for a 102k player, they only need to combine for ~205. Sullivan’s down game has hurt a bit.

As I said in my previous post, I’ve considered waiting on Zorko with his 187 BE which would make teaching my final team much easier. But I’m pretty confident I’ll go for him this week. When playing in defence at the Gabba this year, Zorko has gone: 127, 130, 160, 161. In that order too which means his scores have been trending up every week. This week he plays the Saints who are well known to give up huge scores to defenders, last week was a great example, and at the Gabba. Grabbing him this week and using the VC on him is well worth it in my opinion.

I’m looking at

Graham/RGarcia/Moyle > 2 102k rookies (El-Hawli D/M and M Hall M/F) and likely Houston

Will have 21 this round.

Stuck with dud premos at this point will just play the long game.

TRADES:
Moyle-Grundy
Sweet-Kreuger
Rogers-Dowling

One upgrade left with 250k banked, should get me Rankine post bye and likely Jordon tag this week, 9 trades left so it could be worse, probably go down to 4 or 5 to get sufficient cover and hope for the best from there. 1000005209.jpg

Clohesy to Kreuger
Sexton to Gulden
Gives me 21 bar any unforeseen injuries and 17 before trades next week. With Powell back even if Sexton doesn’t get dropped his scoring will be limited, really wanted a spike game from him this week-like everyone who owns him I suppose, as for Kreuger he’s up against North where as Dowlings up against the Swans so hoping to snag a few extra points there, I have no doubt he’ll find a way to injure himself so he’ll become R3 then with Jackson to swing if needed in the future.

I've lost patience with Macrae. Looks an absolute shadow of himself and add it to the list of poor trade ins on my behalf.

Will just hold and ride the waves with the abundance of underperforming premo mids I have in Walsh, Steele, Miller, Oliver and Green.

As mentioned by many not really scared off by Zorko's BE when this week could be his highest score for the rest of the season so not that keen on waiting a week.

Will be keeping a close eye on injury news from North Melbourne this week as to what I do with McKercher.

Likely that if he is to miss the next two weeks that I will not be able to field 18.

With all that said looking at Macrae, Garcia and McKercher for Ryan, Zorko and a rookie.

Moyle to Kreuger looks like an easy one - no 100% sure of Kreuger's JS or ability to be useful down the stretch but he's DPP, cheap enough, and unlocks Moyle's cash.
Trade two is probably Sullivan to Fisher. Bit later to the party on Fisher but he looks the real deal, and while there is McKercher risk down the line (and injury/DE risks) I think he's worth riding for as long as he can. The DPP with Wilson will also help as I can flip him around a little.
Trade 3 will only be used if another good rookie shows up. No one else is desperately needing a trade out, and while I'm pretty fed up with Stewart, Green, and Macrae, I can't justify trading them out at this stage. As it is, I'm probably looking at 6 trades left with a completed team, and 5 trades left once I move Sexton to Rozee as M9 (although I'll most likely field him over Green if I'm being honest). Feels like the it's bordering on too few for the run home, so don't want to make luxury sideways moves if I can avoid it!

Gulden - has his role changed since his slow start to the season? His average is buoyed by two big scores the last two weeks.

Are many bringing him in now because he has had his bye and has a high ceiling? At 560k he doesn't look any more valuable (value for money) than a guy like Dunkley at 580k or even Neale at 630k.

Any thoughts from people smarter and more informed than myself would be greatly appreciated!
