Hello Rowsus (and anyone else who can help),

My side is a bit of a Rd 8 shambles. I could in theory get 17 players on the field but would need to trade McDonald (happy to trade) and both Crouch and a premium to do this. Of those 17 Impey, Georgiou, Taylor, JKH and Hallahan would all feature.

As I am a long way behind overall my attention has turned to the leagues I am in. By chance the three sides I meet in my leagues this week are filled with Rd 9 and 10 bye players, one opponent has 23 available players this week!!

I think I know the answer to the question I am about to ask but I need some advice on how to tackle it. I'm basically going to 'throw' my Rd 8 league matches. Is this a good idea? I can't see myself winning any of those matches with the 17 selected and would be picking players ultimately I don't want in my final side (Adcock) or would be paying too much for them (Hibberd) when I could get Enright & Harry Taylor after Rd 8 for cheap.

I have 23 trades left and am in ok position team wise. My Mids are really strong with Polec at M8 but I am struggling in d5,6 and f5,6 as a trade off.

How should I tackle this week? Currently $150k in the kitty.

It sounds like you can't win your league games this week, I think throwing it would be a good idea. If you can win the following 2 league games you probably come out ahead still.

Without looking at your team I'd suggest doing a downgrade or double downgrade, LMac & Crouch could both go, and the cash can be used for upgrades over the following two rounds.

Thanks for your comments Row.

What are your thoughts on bringing in Jack Steven instead of Watson or Griff, low price, coming into form, could be nice pod?
Happy to help :),
He's an option if you are looking for a POD and certainly represents more value than Joey on face value.

Hi Rowsus, 2 questions re defence. 1. Is hooker worth a gamble as a replacement for Smitch? I don't have a lot of $$$ so looking for cheap alternative. 2. Will Suckling be a d6 or will I need to upg at some stage?
Thanks in advance!!!
I don't think Hooker represents value right now. Especially if you need a cheap replacement for Mitchell. If you can get 18 on the ground this week without replacing Mitchell, you best/cheapest replacement is Taylor next week. As to Suckling filling D6, it's a possibility to use him for that. Of the 22 positions we have to fill, if you are going to accept some "compromised" fill ins, then D6 is the place to start!
Good luck :)

I think tuzz is right. Tank this round, and concentrate on getting your team ready to whoopbutt in the next 2 rounds.
Good luck:)

Great thanks so much, and thanks to Jedi too. I need to replace him this week as I'm prob going to start with 17 (incl Mitch replacement), unless Ambrose is named and I'll cheekily trade him in to get to 18. I'm happy to keep suckling as potential d6 as i agree there are more important positions to fill. Only need to climb another 1700 spots for the 50k and you'll be thanked greatly when I get there!

Hi Loides, welcome aboard.
Definitely option 2, especially with Pyke under an injury cloud.
Good luck :)
Thanks for the advice. I've been stewing on it all week. I've been watching NicNat drop further and further and waiting for him to bottom out but I worry that he won't return to previous form this year. Seems to be still carrying some sort of injury that is restricting him.

Hey Pro,
Tell me what you think he will score in rounds 9 and 10, and I'll give you my breakdown.

Hey Rowsus,

Just a quick one. As a fellow TMitch owner, how much more patience have you got?

Cheers.

Leaves me with $66,700 and 21 trades.

Planning to grab Selwood next week, maybe jump on a Hartung/other rookie a week early if need be and then looking to get the likes of Hanley, Swan, NRoo, Fyfe in the following weeks via downgrade/upgrade trades.

Thoughts:confused:

Hi Rowsus, I'm contemplating captain options for this week and using RAMP I notice that Cox has a projected score up in the 130 range. I know you picked Jacobs as C last week on the basis of RAMP and was wondering whether you think Cox's projection for this week is remotely realistic, especially as he hasn't really been setting the world on fire recently? Thanks

Selwood has a high BE vs less so for Swan, right? Was originally planning both Swan and Jelwood next week, but break evens put me off.

None. He's gone this week. I just need to decide if it's J Lloyd or Ambrose.
Just to let you know guys you are not alone, I am also part of this unfortunate club. Patience gone, especially since he hasn't even been named in the three emergencies.

I'm actually not sure where to ask this, but Rowsus and others what are your thoughts of L.Shuey as a keeper? I have him and had him from that start, trying to work out my trades for the rest of the season and i'm undecided on his status.

Tossing up between Adcock and Malceski for D5. Adcock is pretty consistant from what i can tell and 40k cheaper, but The Swans seem to be hitting their straps and Malceski can go quite large sometimes. What are youre thoughts between the 2 oh wise one?

Hey Pro,

I guess we can look at a worst case scenario.
Let's assume you trade him out, and he goes 120, 120 in rounds 9 and 10.
After round 10 his price would be around $510,600, and his B/E 104
After round 11 his price would be around $517,600 and his B/E 69

I don't like paying $550k for McVeigh. He needs to return 110/game to justify his price from there.
I'm hopeful Libba can start to turn things around, and this week could be big if it's anything like last season versus Melbourne.
I like the NRoo target, as he should be very cheap in 2 weeks. The rest seem good, with one rider. Be careful of Hanley if you want League glory. According to RAMP he bombs badly in the last 2 weeks, and could cost you a Prelim or GF.
