Well, Wout did beat him in Stage 3, probably as it was a bit uphill. Still scored 300 pts across the last two stages for a 1st and 2nd, but as noted, there's not a heap of opportunities still to come. Will almost surely outscore some of the GC riders, but not sure which ones yet. :)
Yeah I also knew the sprinters field wasn't very deep... But I probably didn't appreciate how weak it was. Be surprised if he doesn't get at least another 100 points tomorrow.

You probably won't want to see the Stage 4 results, which gives some early indication of the form GC contenders. I'll likely update these tonight.
Yeah, looks like I got my picks for the Vuelta wrong. Never been one for going with the crowd, and Dravid is so far ahead only a different approach could overcome the gap. Roglic is almost 35 years old, has been suspect in hot conditions, and has a recent history of DNF's. Hence my decision.

I don't mind it. I decided to not select Mas, despite his good record in previous years at his home event, he's looking like he might get another podium so far. Long way to go of course. Can't get all your picks right, and I also figure you may as well try something a bit different at this point (hence my picks - a couple of unique ones in there).

Haha Roglic is just as likely to crash out as he is to win... plenty of time left to look like a genius!

There's a couple at the back end that have the potential to be a sprint stage (like stage 17) but very little in between.
Cheers. Wanted to know for Tissot. Need to dump Groves and Bittner then.
Good day (52nd) and 426th overall. Juaristi with mad breakaway points

Nice.

Stage 7 is possibly one for the sprinters with the heat experienced so far, there is a Cat 2 climb about 30-40 K's from the end, generally a set up for an attack, but not sure many will push too hard there, and it wouldn't surprise me if the sprinters survive that. Likely not much else until the last week as mentioned though.

Should have held on to Groves for stage 7
Although as mentioned not a straight forward flat stage.

Well done to Ben O'Conner. Just woken up to see the result. Don't know how it happened, but a great result, nonetheless. Surprising that he would be allowed to be out front that much.

Yeah seems Bora stuffed up .. go Ben! Looking like a nice pick @Ironhawk
Well, at least I managed 200 pts from him, even if he does nothing else. Great win, but the other climbers will erode that lead over the rest of the race, if not in the mountains, in the TT. Thought he was a long shot at overall, but mainly wanted him to see him complete a stage win in each grand tour, which he has done now. Got it done earlier in the race than I expected. Thought he could get top 5 if he was in form, that was about what I thought the best he could do when I picked him.

Hope he can hang on, a near 5 minute lead is great, but I know he will get dropped at points. He deserves a good result after just missing the podium a few times (4th at both Giro and Vuelta), so hoping when he is dropped he can limit that loss.

Yeah you'd still think that the likes of Roglic and Almedia should be able to chase him down. Might be tough to catch for third though.
