Everyone is probably aware of how popular college football is in the States.

Maybe not so aware of just how crazily popular.
Especially Iowa where their college football team, the Iowa Buckeyes, has more support, apparently, than any professional NFL team.

An Iowa politician has said he will sponsor a bill called the "O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act".
It will make it a felony for an opposing team to plant their flag in the middle of the Iowa Buckeyes football field on game day.

Such flag planting has a history in college football. A lot of teams have done so over the years. Most notably, Baker-Mayfield planted his team's flag in the centre of the Buckeyes' field in 2017 when his Oklahoma team beat the Buckeyes.

The proposed bill is a response to a recent game: a fight broke out between Iowa and Michigan players after Michigan won and tried to plant their flag in the centre of Iowa's field.

A follow up that I think is interesting:
in 2023-24 the Buckeyes women's basketball team sold out every home game with an average of just under 15,000 spectators.
This compares quite favourably with the average NBA crowd of just under 20,000.
It compares more than favourably with the WNBA crowds where only one team, the Indiana Fever, averaged more - 17,000 odd.

Although it must be acknowledged that that 15,000 figure, and the 17,000, is largely attributable to one player: Caitlin Clark.
Still, averaging 15,000 at women's college basketball games!

Why are they missing... haven't heard anything about them missing out this week:unsure::unsure::unsure:
Was in reference to the prior round in which I received a donut. Is not in relation to this round but snipped team and replied to ranking update from last round in case that was a factor for any recommended trades.

Had a look at bringing Hill back to replace MVS but the only option I like to fund it is via the Eagles to ?. Usually do not have this many trades left this late in the season, so hopefully it comes in handy for injuries and rests in the last few rounds.

At last, my "c" choice comes good! Thank you, Lamar.
Somewhat necessary as my bench for Kupp is Nabers 38 and D (the lesser) Moore 5.
When Moore was 0 at 3/4 time I hoped he'd stay that way.

Interesting to see Dowdle have his 3rd consecutive 100+yd rushing game.
The only three in his career.
After spending over 4yrs as a back-up he has been given the RB1 role and doing quite well.
I have to wonder how many other players there are/have been who never got the opportunity.

Just to clarify this, it's Ohio, not Iowa, and it's Ohio State Buckeyes, Iowa is the Hawkeyes. Neither of them is either states "their team", both are just individual teams among many others, albeit they're the largest in each state. Ohio also has Cincinnati, Miami, Akron, Bowling Green, Kent State, Dayton, Ohio, Toledo and Xavier among other major colleges. Iowa has Iowa State and Drake among others.

This is mostly a salty OSU fan reacting to his team losing to their biggest rival, Michigan, after his team caused a massive incident by charging and assaulting the Michigan team for planting the flag. To be fair, the flag planting is pretty disrespectful but it was the OSU reaction that was way out of hand.

The funniest part is the petulant law will probably pass as well

...........Finally thought I got a best Captain score, Hurts (47), then Allen (103) and bench Darnold (68) out score him. ..........

...........I've made it to three Playoff s, so my opponents better watch out. I'm about to start choosing the right Captains and become a force to be reckoned with. :D
Yes! It has been quite some time since I selected the right Captain (Allen 81), and thus far, none of my Bench players have outscored my Fielded players.

I am currently on 586 points and still have Jefferson, B. Robinson and Bowers yet to play.

Apologies for the mis-naming. No excuse.
