I am contemplating the same thing here. I had Pope and Weatherald, who didn't perform that well, so do I take a risk on Dorff or Allen?
60s are probably right on the fence of scores you should take, I don't hate going either way this round.

Really comes down to how much upside you think there is for the potential risk of losing points.

Thanks, Herbie! You’re right in saying that not all is lost and I may have been a tad over dramatic saying my seasons over haha!

Webster’s score of 3 hurts a bit but if he somehow plays both games next round, I may be able to gain the points back!

Bazley on the bench with no emergency hurts a bit but Stoinos out scored him by 30 and Sutherland is my other onfield option who hopefully can continue with his form.

I’m thankful I started Short and Overton now because I’d be really kicking myself if I didn’t have them for this round.

Anywho, the trades I’ve done this round are:
Out: Rogers, O’Neill & Zampa
In: Morris (C), Hobson & Turner

Hopefully Morris can dominate with the ball and Hobson and Turner have a similar output to their round one game!
All good , many get over dramatic on here , their bowler gets hit for a boundary off the first ball and the tissues come out 😀 , next minute they have 2-3 wickets

Webster will be with the Test Squad as previously mentioned , Stars play Game 1 of Round 3 so we might know in time if he has been released or not

Onwards and upwards

I reckon it also depends on your VC’s role. A bat only 60 I’d probably take on, but either Short or Overton have shown they can score from all phases, meaning their floor is a bit higher.
I’d be inclined to take the points on hand than take the risk on 2 unknown games.

What do we think the Heat changes look like with Munro, McSweeney and Johnson back which sounds likely for their double?

If it’s like-for-like then I think the changes could be;

Munro for Wood
McSweeney for Drew
Johnson for Prestwidge

If this is the case then Whitney stays until Neser is back in the new year. I desperately need a cheapie next round so I hope this is the case.

Does anybody see it differently?

Nothing on the Heat.
Perry could be playing with Abbott at tests.

Might change depending on what is happening with Alsop and if they get a OS replacement out here in time if required.

No update on their website since the update on the 18th

Yeah, heard they’re looking at Banton but he would probably replace a BAT. Not sure who though..
Interesting

They played 5-6 structure last season so maybe Botha changes it to 6-5

Banton (?) , Bryant , McSweeney,
Munro , Peirson , Renshaw + the 5 Bowlers

McSweeney & Renshaw to bowl if required

Vaughan also discussed Mitch Owen’s role, having opened the batting on Thursday. He said: “It’s something we’ve done at the Tigers through the One-Day tournament. He’s impacted games at cricket at the top of the order. We’re looking for him to play that role in the immediate future.”

Yeah he's one I'm looking at... In that Joel Davies/ Renshaw price range but hard to justify with those 2 having the double next round

Frustrating start to the round! Was planning on trading Curran to get M Short in, ended up trading Jhye to get M Short in. Hopefully Curran makes it up to me next round but will be very annoyed if Jhye ends up playing and scoring well in both games.

End up on 0/195 M Short (4 SI). Bazley disappointing.

Will take M Short and hope he goes big game 2. Considering looping Stoin because I want Zampa out of my team but will require me to give up Turner for a donut.

Thinking ahead to Round 3 (starts Boxing Day with a Double Header)

Sixers v Stars first game so who do we VC ? Hosein or Maxwell ?

BH captain option as backup

Outside of Maxwell probably no Stars worth bringing in , maybe Usama Mir

So who from the BH & SS ?

Bartlett
Hosein
Walter
Dwarshuis
Vince
Munro
Johnson
Swepson

etc etc

Available funds will dictate the Ins and Outs

Can people hold the likes of Overton , Seifert (Round 3 Bye) , M Short & Sutherland (Round 3 Bye) and still get their preferred ins ?

Something to think about over the next few days as Round 2 plays out

Round 3 could be the big moving round

For me, I only have Peirson, so hoping he keeps his spot. Have Abbott also, but that's a waste, so I will have to wait and see, but for me the priorities will be Edwards, Johnson, Munro and Walter.

Unfortunately, I was out for Christmas drinks for work yesterday evening/night and was tinkering around with my team while I was there…

The plan was:
Out: Webster, O’Neill & Rogers
In: Behrendorff, Morris & Turner

unfortunately I mustn’t have saved my trades or had bad reception because when I went to check my score I had all trades remaining and Webster with the VC again…

Oh well it was a good season while it lasted :ROFLMAO:
@Herbie66 makes a good point and some good suggestions. For missing the first lockout of a DGR, this could have been a lot worse!

Who knows, Webster might even be a decent POD on the double if he gets released for some reason.

You can probably look at keeping your performing Renegadss unless you need their cash.

You can also avoid Inglis and probably Jhye.

Edwards would be one I would consider getting in this round - good role and price, with a double coming up.

It is hard to find good trade outs, but sacrifices sometimes need to be made, and that’s a sign you’re probably in a decent spot!

Most teams will have a few $$$ tied up with Scorchers players so it's doable if a cheapie presents.
Be interesting to see what combos people can get.

3 x $ 150k Scorchers isn't getting all 3 of Bartlett , Hosein & Maxwell (without a reasonable Bank) so which one do you sacrifice ?

Start going to next tier down

Who are the "must haves ?" , I guess so many different options

Do we have to use a boost to free up cash from the Big 2 AS & MR players.

Then Boost again Round 4 to get them back in ?

Who knows if the Strikers will have a OSR for Allen by then who might be a must have as well.
