I was planning on 9 DGR for this round originally when mapping things out roughly at the start of the season. Due to covering injuries and other omissions, and one player stuck on the bench this round by mistake due to getting caught out by lock out, I'm currently down to 3 DGR, and that's after using both boosts (I had planned to use both later on).

Waiting for Homer to be a last minute pick and save things the way this is going...

Stuck with the above with Johnson very unlucky to miss out. Aware of the risk of overexposure to the Sixers bowlers and little exposure to batters along with a lack of exposure to Heat bowlers. Hoped Edwards would serve as an avenue into the Sixers top four batters rather than my usual Philippe selection on the double with all bowlers capable of solid contributions with the bat if needed. Injury unfortunate and did not plan on the Stars posting close to 200. Hopefully captain Walter performs and will be interesting to see what the end difference between Dwarsh & Tye VS Johnson and Behrendorff is.
2/509
Double: A Hosein, B Dwarshuis, H Kerr, J Edwards, M Stoinis, S Harper, T Curran, P Walter (C) and M Renshaw
Single: J Overton, A Tye, H Thornton (12th)

Possibly four down if Edwards and Curran are unavailable. Hoping for a good showing from those posting low scores in the first match of their double, especially Captain Walter.

8/484 Curran :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Continues to go frrom bad to worse! Have been real busy with family, etc over past few days that I have missed lineups etc...

8 for includes Curran. Didn't really set up for many DGR'S this week in preparation for next round. Accidentally left the C on Prestwidge with Curran as VC, then Weatherald not playing is now my 12th man dount, then I have also had Bazely, Thornton, Peirson, and Allen to top it off... :D

Positive is that I already have 8 DGR's for next round assuming Weatherald and Bazely play. Just need to get Short.

Morris said it was because the squad was already named, can only bring someone in that was already on the list of contracted players.

Feels ridiculous really but CA stepped in and blocked it.
Cheers , just reading about it.

Ridiculous especially if they eventually sign him anyway as the replacement

Wonder if they could have got Milne 🤔 or CA would say his contract is over

Spencer Johnson has explained that he will need to “manage” the toe injury that kept him out of the Brisbane Heat’s opening 2 games but a standout 4fa in his return.

Johnson suffered the unique injury playing for SA in the Sheffield Shield on the eve of the BBL, before missing his side’s first 2 games.

“I snapped my tendon in a Shield game about a month ago, and to be honest, we still don’t really know how it’s happened, or why it’s happened,” Johnson said.

“It’s such a bizarre injury. Four surgeons have looked at it, four sports doctors have looked at it, and they’re all mind blown.

“I think we just manage it and look after it and hopefully it will be all good. We’ve come up with a decent method to strap it, and hopefully that should be right for the rest of the season.”

Brisbane lost to Perth on Boxing Day and will back up on Sunday against the Adelaide Strikers at the Gabba.

On the management of the injury, Johnson added: “It is such a bizarre thing, I could wake up tomorrow and it could be all right.

“It felt really good out there today, and we’re looking after it, we’ll manage it. I missed a couple of games, but hopefully it will be all right.”

I'm guessing it's more a faint hope he's ok move.
I'm still backing him to miss.
Feel sorry for those that have made him captain if he does miss.

Just hope if he does play he meets his BE and doesn't bleed too much cash.

If he plays and doesn't bowl then probably becomes a trade out for next round.

Give him a few jabs and see how he responds.

Possibly their MVP so they wouldn't want to risk him unnecessarily.
