Does anyone have a view in L Scott’s role, particularly ex M Short?

I had him as a cheapie to help fund Short. I no longer need him for funds, but am weighing up whether his role could potentially improve a bit further?

I see Scott’s role not changing very much. Doggett fills the new ball void that M Short was filling. Means overton’s overs probably get pushed back further as well. Good news for everyone in my opinion.

I was quietly hoping that they pulled their Squad of their socials because Short got a phone call to pack his bags and head to Sydney 😀 (wishful thinking I know)

I have a major cash problem this round.

I need Scott to be named if I want to get M Short , if not could go down to Manenti and then rely on Stoinis score.

Doubt Weatherald gets named and with the Strikers currently 1-3 I expect Boyce could miss.

Do they trust their preseason planning or change it up.

If I don't get Short this round I probably won't get him all season so then probably need to look at alternative captain options for Round 5 , 7 & 9.

But is their another 2 Strikers that could give me similar output on the DGR (already have Boyce , Overton , Thornton & Weatherald)

Currently I am 679 points behind the leader , so I certainly won't be winning the competition if I just bring in the same players as those above me.

I expect after this round the Top 5 % teams will be very similar in players and following the same direction Round 5 to 8.

Need to figure out my preferred Thunder targets for Round 5 & 6 and work backwards.

If I did get Short , he would be a season hold.

No problem though in trading out Overton in Round 5 and using his cash

Better get the pen & paper out and find the calculator

Quite impressed by this post and then spending 2-3 hours going through Round 4 to 6 trade options.

Finally came up with a answer and then Short is out anyway.

My team needs some divine intervention so why have one Pope when I can have 2 😀

Given the injury carnage I don't feel great about playing my last boost now but I also don't feel great about going in with only two Strikers.

Update: I think the changes are net negative for Scott.

Weatherald takes Short’s batting but frees up a couple of overs, potentially of spin.

Doggett replaces Bazley and adds four overs of pace though, so it’s a net loss for Shaw as I see it.

Thanks mate - very helpful. I reached a similar conclusion considering the Bazley/Doggett element, but it’s good to have support for that view given how rushed this all is!
