5/464 Short (6 SI @ 77.33), Edwards dropping out

Very fortunate bringing Short in as well as the captain, was purely a Hail Mary move. Currently he’s contributed over 70% of my score so kind of shows how my round was going without him.

Pretty sure CA were the ones not letting him play, interesting to see if he wasn’t allowed to bowl tonight or was just cooked after batting.

I tried reversing Bartlett out to Connolly once I saw the Scorchers lineup and clear skies in Sydney but got locked out. Swings and roundabouts this game.

Got a lot riding on tomorrow with 6 to play.

New trade in Neser terrible with the ball. Was good to see him opening the batting but 2 short of the quick 20 is very frustrating. Bartlett has been one of the worst trade ins all season only managing 1 wicket for the 2 games I've had him for so have dropped his score out for now. Likely my first rage trade out next round. Matt Short going berserk with bat and other D'Arcy Short going nuts with the ball. Probably need to trade one in next round.

Big game today with Sutherland, Bethell, Rogers, Harper, Stoinis and new recruit Webster left to play. Undecided on the captain option atm.

Sometimes you have a round that is just soul destroying. A mix of unforced errors and horrible luck. Sprinkle of just not your week. This is one of those rounds..

Via various forms of not paying enough attention (aka getting toddlered by my 2 year old) and making some calls that didn’t pan out.. I’ve ended up with:

New recruit Ellis VC - 10 points
Christian on field - 0 points
Edwards in field - 4 points
New recruit Overton C - 74 points (doubled)
New recruit Wade - 33 points

The sliding doors moments was trading Connolly and Billings, and probably most painful of all that I could have traded Bartlett instead of any other trade out and been able to afford Short (was was my #1 target this round). When I didn’t think I could afford him I settled for Overton. Plus the flow on of passing on Abbott last round banking on another wash out..

Now I like to be as optimistic as possible.. so a sprinkle of good news to end things..

After holding Dwarsh I put him in field last night minute for 75 points. I benched Bartlett and avoided his 14 points. Also the champ himself also did the Ellis VC so I’m in outstanding company on that point at least!

Sorry I have to ask , what was the appeal in Munro , averaging 9.2 before tonight

Ave @ AO 6.00 (3 Innings)
Position I am in, what have I got to lose. He usually opens and I thought he could turn it around. I had JFM and I thought I would swap for another dud.

Just having' fun... Ranked in the millions, so why not.

Fun pick personally which has backfired spectacularly. Ironically, if I hadn’t picked him, I’d have ended up with someone other than Neser as well.

Not often you get 3 playing donuts, two on field from guys who have scored multiple SC tons in the past.

7/307 Overton

Stinker of a round with two injuries to boot. Have seen someone post a 900+ with 2 to play elsewhere. Had all of David, Turner, Warner, M Short, Smith C.

8/275 C yet to play.

A bit embarrassing being caught out not wearing any Shorts.

The great thing about BBL SuperCoach is there is no time to dwell on what we can’t change. I just need to work out how to have a bit of fun between now and the end.

Well done to all those coaches having a great round and putting themselves in real contention.

All out 428 Allen

Just having fun. Don't know why I keep trying Allen as C. Has a huge ceiling, and yesterday was the perfect opportunity. Every time I have captained him, he has failed...

Trade In's this round have been Jordan, Edwards, and Munro for 52 points. Munro and Edwards stay on field as McDermott falls out.

From finishing 183 last season to being lucky to be in the Top 10,000, just shows why these games can be frustrating, but we keep coming back for more!

Had a shocking day across both games yesterday as well - traded out both Dwarshuis and Connolly this round, D Short last round. Any of those would have outscored my total points scored for the day. Lucky I did well in the first game.

Bit surprised that score is above most here after some huge scores yesterday.

Considered bringing in both Smith and M Short too, kicking myself a bit for not doing either, but can’t have everyone. Expecting a ghost ship who has both will probably top score this round.

Fair enough

I will probably be bringing in someone next round who has no form line this season and a poor historical Average v opposition and opponent myself
