6/523 M.Short - have assumed the 4 from Jack Edwards drops out

M.Short C 164x2
Overton 37
Allen 15

Edwards 4

Crazy how things pan out. Last night I was annoyed at myself for trading Warner over Green, a 76 point loss. The extra 20k I gained from trading Warner over Green allowed me to take the punt on Short and it paid off big time. Was originally going to use that third trade on Zampa up to Neser/Bartlett, but as I started slowly and my VC (Jordan failed) I wanted to try something out there. Then the Sixers v Scorchers game was almost worst case scenario and I felt I needed to try something to keep up with the top group. Johnson to Short was the move and with them batting first, I doubled down and slapped the C on. The only negative was he batted so well that he was too gassed to bowl!

Overton meh. Had a field 2, bench 1 scenario between Allen, Edwards, and Lynn. Chose to bench Lynn. Thankful he got out when he did as he was looking unstoppable.

Zampa 60
Rogers 52
Sutherland 48
Bethell 25
Stoinis 19

Zampa meh until he was gifted 27 points in the last 2 balls thanks to Richardson breaking down. Rogers good. Sutherland solid. Bethell bowling the 19th and getting rewarded was nice, was hoping that could be a platform for him to bat well but he looked atrocious for his 1 off 8. Stoinis out for 18 and just the 1 over.

Maxwell doing what he did is a massive setback. 7 of the top 9 have him. In the last 2 games he has batted 6 and hasn’t bowled. Despite that, he’s managed to score 248 points. The first game he was dropped on 1, tonight he was given not out on an LBW appeal on 10. On review it was umpire’s call, clipping leg stump. IF he was dismissed on both occasions, he would have scored 41 in this period, 207 points less than his actual totals.

Hoping I can hold onto 5th.

1005 all out (Warner). An excellent round, despite having a very slow finish with the Renegades innings. Bethell and Stoinis disappointing, but so much else went well - trading in M Short, plus Warner, David, Maxi and Abbott. Hoping for a bit of a boost in the rankings.
Four figures in a single is weekly territory!!
