I hate how we lose overs straight away when they go off in BBL. In the IPL I think they need to lose close to an hour before any overs are lost.

Nothing quite as dumb as the WBBL final earlier in the season, where they started losing overs immediately BUT were able to push a five over game back for something like three hours past the scheduled finish time!

Always annoys me when rain impacted games mean bowlers can’t earn ER. I know it would be too hard to code around the different levels of weather impact but it just sucks!

Wonder if the Thunder will be pushing for the game to happen or relent if there’s little chance of getting more than 5 overs.

Personally hoping it just gets washed out at this point.

They’ve put Sixers v Scorchers up to watch, looks like we’re in for the long haul now if at all.

I can almost see the SCG from my place. There’s a lot of light misty rain around which doesn’t always show up on radar. It’s constant mizzle.
The winds are very strong with blustery gusts. Risk factor too big for me..I’d rather be 100% certain a game is on.

Yeah I'd expect Thunder will be disadvantaged with a 5 over game, with the DLS calcs.

At least being the last round, we're not going to see big cash losses.

Under 4 an over -
1 over: 5 points
2 overs: 10 points
3 overs: 15 points
4 overs: 25 points (bonus 5 due to bowling full quota.

4.01-5 -
1 over: 4 points
2 overs: 8 points
3 overs: 12 points
4 overs: 16 points (bonus 4)

You get the idea.

Yeah I like it. I’ve thought before about an over based ER that isn’t reliant on overall ER to score well.. bit different to your proposal but I think something like either could work. Although would definitely skew things even more towards bowlers!

I suspect that the stakeholders would be very keen to get this game back on. Game was a sell out and they'd be up for a lot of refunds...

Yeah I'd want to see the strike rate bonus change as well, if they were going to go down that path.
