Ed Allan $ 194k

2024 - 24 & 96

could be vying with Lipinski & WHE for the subs vest

Even without Titch , imagine the core will still be Crisp , JDG & Pendles with Daicos x 2 , Houston & Perryman rotating through.

Interested if Josh stays in D.

Looks like a bad pick for $198K.
Does he play W or HB ?

Remember watching a few Freo games last year and they completely ignore Sharp on one wing (can't recall their other winger)

For that price I guess you would be wanting 65-75 PPG consistently to make enough 💰.

Been in the system for awhile so might be a better option than similarly priced first year players.

Self plug here, but a worthwhile one for anyone who may not have seen my other topic.

I think it would be really useful to get an idea of an expected average for the key players this year. The starting price doesn't always tell the story. I figure if everyone can chip in with their guesses, we'll get a fairly good idea of the expected average across the SCS community, as even if you are well off on one player, the rest of the responses will balance it out. I'm trying to collate that info here:

https://supercoachscores.com/threads/scs-predicted-averages-2025.5460/

Hoping for at least 20 or so responses which should make this reasonably representative, but every response helps.

This should help with identifying players to pick (or not), as I expect there will be some surprises in there.

Thanks.

@warewolves Howd this play out for you last year and the year before? you obviously picked a lot of value here and you seem to be onto a similar path this year and i agree with alot of your selections. very interested to know your early season ranking and of course cash gen?
Hi @JoongaJack - I see this is one of your first posts - welcome to the forum.

You're correct to observe that I am a die-hard mid-pricer, but I'm afraid it hasn't led to any notable SC success...yet!!
I've been playing for ages and mostly I wind up in the 10-20,000th range and that means I'm a long, long way behind the winners.
Last year I started out with quite a few "good picks" who weren't from the top price brackets - Xerri, Heeney, Martin. NWM, Yeo, Grundy were all under $500K. In looking back, I didnt start enough of the better rookies and traded in McKercher, Dempsey, D'Abrosio & Powell over the next few weeks.

Herbie has just named my M5-M8 :censored::LOL:

O’Driscall, Allan, Tsatas, Sheldrick (J. Smith is my flex as well FWIW)

With a massive watch on Knevitt from the cats!
lol

Has Tsastas learnt to kick yet ?

Not convinced Allan is Best 22.

Sheldrick could be interesting , seems a lot rate CBA more than I do but who is making way out of Gulden , Heeney , Rowbottom , Mills & Warner ?

I always like to use the more expensive rookies when I start planning (makes it more realistic) then easier to adjust down when everything is clearer.

If I go back to my 3-Oliver-Peatling setup my M8-11 is :-

Lalor , Long , O'Sullivan / Allan , Smith , O'Driscoll

Gives me 💰 to play around with for Round 1.

Now experimenting with no rookies onfield setup in defence in case they don't show up.

Hi @warewolves, cheers, and thanks for getting back to me. Yep very knew to the forum but have been playing for enough years.

so you ranked well initially before dying out from not enough cash gen? Something I’ve noticed the last couple seasons is even though you can pick a number of premiums or mid pricers from the start with intentions to be keepers, very few of them often are firing the whole season, especially late in the season. Makes me think about if it’s worth taking the early price and points bumps from your position before trading them players out when everyone else who missed them started trading them in… wouldn’t expect to be able to do this with everyone but dumping the worst might provide a leg up.

Whats our thoughts on Sanders? 339k best on in match sim talks of him taking Trealors spot. Is he to awkwardly priced? Scored ok m in the games he wasn't sub in his first year..

Between him and Parker for mine. Both have the same R12 byes, so I feel I can only take 1. Both will be impacted by the return of a key player. I am thinking Parker might spike more, and I really can’t trust Bevo. Kennedy might be competition.

One of many options for your FWD Line.

I would assume Macrae and Daniels are confirmed. JHF , Parker Smith Sanders Rankine Bolton seem to be the other main options.

Then you would think Lynch needs a starting spot in the line up and Maric is starting to firm as HB distributor for WCE.

Macrae Parker Smith Sanders Daniel Lynch.

Maric as Flex until his DPP arrives EDIT Was thinking he only had FWD status. He could be a beauty with the kick ins added. possibly a 40+ upside.

Already M/F cannot get D added in.

I remember he played a pre-season game against the Hawks last season and did really well (30 disposals). I did hear from a few Dogs fans at the time that Hawthorn would regret picking Watson rather than Sanders after that game, as they were picked back to back in the draft. No regrets from my end at least with the choice made.

Could possibly be a pre-season specialist, as his best game in the season proper last year was 23 disposals.
