I think it is a great attempt at having at go at the query I have.
I'll be interested to hear what Rowsus thinks too.
I concur. I think his method at looking at DT scores, and comparing them to the likes Brown etc, then extrapolating from the DT scores is as good as an approximate as we'll get. He got Repped by me for it, and I only give about 2 Reps/week. Great job!

Hey Rows, thinking these trades this week, what do you reckon, leaves me a bit thin in mids but my money can only go so far. Maybe Bews instead of Litherland. Selwood just out of reach, maybe you can see another option?

OUT Kelly ($334,000) IN Griffen ($498,800)
OUT Ambrose ($186,700) IN Cameron ($122,400)
OUT Cutler ($224,300) IN Litherland ($125,900)

Cheers, appreciate comments as always.

I don't mind it, and Griffen at his price is worth the risk, I'm just wondering why you are taking Litherland.

My thoughts exactly. Litherland I sense might as well be called Netherland as far as SC game in concerned. I cannot see him making enough cash to use in a timely fashion and Prospectus says he has scoring ability of Zac Dawson. That should be enough to scare anyone off and leave him in Neverland.

If you gotta take a cheap defender I think if it is a choice between Litherland and Bews, take Bews even though he only played 1 game. There is more potential with him to make useful profit for you than the Hawk.

I asked this elsewhere, but might fit better here. Is there ever a point that we essentially 'give up' on the D8, M10, F8 positions during the season?

I had a donut in early on, when does it make sense to just take the cash and run with a 'dud' in these positions?

Hey Rowsus,

Took some of your advice last week (thanks). Traded aggressively by bringing in Pendles and Selwood in early (instead of Bartel).
Worked out ok but at a cost of Tyson who went big and probably became a waste of a trade now. Improved ranking slightly from 474 to 402.
JHK, Zorko, Acres all subbed is what cost me.
My question now is what this week with only $90K in bank. JHK probably has to go along with Laidler.
C.Cameron looked good for adelaide but do I upgrade FWD or Backline. Only 17 on field at this stage.
I don't think Bews will make the cut this week with Stokes etc. coming back in so no real backline upgrades
Wouldn't mind a Gray in fwd line this week then maybe a Cheap Buddy in next week. Just not sure
Any suggestions ?

B: Simpson, Swallow, Jaensch, Langdon, Langford, HIBBERD (McVEIGH, LAIDLER)
M: Ablett, Beams, Pendles, Selwood, Libba, Murphy, Buckley, TAYLOR (FYFE, ACRES)
R: Minson, SANDI (Thurlow, Currie)
F: Martin, Danger, Higgins, Lloyd, ZORKO, PAV (AMBROSE, JHK)

Yes, and it is when it will cost more to fix than the reward it gives by fixing it. Most teams, even at the pointy end, will end up with a Georgiou or Impey at D8 or F8, and you just live with it. There's no point wasting a trade to cash them out, as it doesn't make enough money, and it costs too much to upgrade them. This can happen very early on in the season.

Thanks Rowsus and ORF. Hawks have lots of defenders out, that was my thoughts on Litherland, but will probably go Bews after both your comments. Thanks a lot.

Hey mate just wondering how your/RAMP expectations about Cunnington have gone, have they been accurate so far? Is it likely he will in fact go bananas post bye?

Hey Row,

Hurn or Bartel this week? If I jump on Hurn this week I might be able to alter my trade plans and maybe get Pendlebury earlier than expected

I feel Impey may sit in my F8 for the remainder of the season...just doesn't make enough money to provide a cost effective solution worth wasting a trade on...I think I feel the same about Hunt in a M/D floating donut arrangement...

Hi Saint, long time no see!
I think Polec has very little growth left, grab Libba this week.

Hi Rowsus, thanks for confirming my thoughts. You have been answering my questions all year without me having to ask. Keep up the great work. Funny the last advice I got from you was to get Libba for the GF last year and didn't that work out well - 160 odd
cheers

Which do you prefer Row?
1st option probably makes more sense, 2nd option get another prem mid keeper.
Only worried about climbing rankings, not league wins.

OUT Kelly ($334,000) IN Griffen ($498,800)
OUT Ambrose ($186,700) IN Cameron ($122,400)
OUT Cutler ($224,300) IN Litherland ($125,900)

OUT Petrie ($378,700) IN Cameron ($122,400)
OUT Kelly ($334,000) IN Griffen ($498,800)
OUT Dunn ($416,900) IN Selwood ($549,500)

Thanks mate

Gary Rohan is the perfect example of this. Will be my forward loophole for the rest of the season. more use as a donut than trading him out to make 40 0r 50k. The 50k would be worth about 10ppg used elsewhere as opposed to using him as a loophole which could end up gaining more points by getting a look at a players score.

Hey Slammer,
I don't think it was a wasted trade, in the long term it will pay off.
The biggest problem I see at the moment is Laidler. With no obvious downgrade target, it seems you either need to upgrade him (to Bartel?), or trade him down to the cheapest dead weight you can (Hunt? so you can swing him up to your midline later for loopholing), and live with only 7 live prospects in your Def line. That is risky, but you have some depth in your Def JS.
So to me, it looks like:
JKH/Laidler ---> Bartel/Cameron - cost $72,200 OR
JKH/Laidler ---> Gray R/Hunt - cost $89,200
Good luck, I hope you continue your climb up the ladder. :)

JKH/Laidler ---> Bartel/Cameron - cost $72,200 OR
+1

Cameron looked great last week, although in a winning side..
This would complete your backline this week, and allows the one-up-one-down Langford/Taylor/Buckley/Lloyd upgrades in the coming weeks to finish off your team, hopefully keeping Langdon as M9/D7 swingman and the possibility of upgrading Higgins at F6 and Jaensch at D6..

Hey Russ,
he was expected to start slowish, and then take off.
He has started a Little slower than hoped/expected, but is predicted to really hit is his straps for the last 10 rounds.
The biggest problem has been his TOG hasn't improved, it is hovering around his historical level of 74, and without improving that to 83-84, he will struggle to make the 110+ area.

Hey bloke,
it depends on how far off you are completing your team. If you are struggling to achieve that, take Hurn, if it is on track take Bartel. He will in all likelihood outscore Hurn from here, and play more games.

Hi Mike,
I'm sure we'd both prefer Watson and Bartel, but given the choices, I'll go Watson Hanley. There's still a question mark over Steven, despite his score last week.
