Hey Rowsus,

Do u think it is worth trading Acres to Hartung (as long as he is not the sub, so I will wait until an hour before the game).

The positives are in my view:

1. An extra 70 or so points this week as otherwise I have a donut.
2. An extra 45k in the bank
3. An extra hopefully 150-200k for future upgrades with Hartung's price rise compared to Acres being dead wood. (With my trade plan, this could be very important as I will have few rookies that could be tradeable in 4-5 weeks time for my final downgrades/upgrades.)

The problem is, if I don't trade Acres at all, I'm saving a trade. Is it worth it?

Hey Rowsus just wanted a quick opinion on Wingard. He's at a good price, port have some nice games coming up. Was thinking of getting Boomer in this week but i cant see his old body lasting the whole season and playing everygame. Cheers

Hey Row,

Last one for this weekend..do you think its a bad move to sideways trade Swan to another premo? Ward, NDS, Sloane etc

He just isnt looking like the Swan of old. He is down in just about every stat with these 3 the most worrying:

-5.3 disposals per game
-3.2 CPs per game
-2.0 clearances per game

Of course he is a superstar and can turn it around, but it appears he is spending a bit less time in the middle now and more time forward with some of their rotations (Blair, Elliott etc)

Besides that Anzac day match its not like he is kicking goals to compensate for that.

Like to hear your thoughts.
Hey Mike,
I'm not a fan of side Trading Prems before your team is finalised. When it is, if you have trades enough, you can try a few "clever" trades. Swan is coming into Collingwoods easiest section of their draw over the next 4 weeks. It would be a brave man to trade him out before he gets those easier match ups.

My original plan was to trade Suckling to Hurn this week.
But I am not so sold on Hurn's durability.
Am I crazy to consider Jaensch as an option at $397k?
In my opinion, he will not be tagged. This is based on the fact that teams haven't tagged him yet, and I also believe that Brodie Smith is more likely to be tagged by opposition than him.
Do you think with his role this year that he will continue to post 95+ scores and be a value pick?
I don't think you're crazy. His price is low enough to speculate on, if you have trades enough. My own thoughts are he will struggle to maintain his early form, but I think you won't/shouldn't lose any cash on the deal, so it is a safe one to speculate on, if you are so inclined.

Hi Rowsus,

Just wondering whether you see any merit in trading sandi for mumford. Thinking it could be a positive 'pod' move and could help me improve my ranking of 174.
Hi HOM,
it's certainly a risk, but the position you are in warrants trying a few things. Aside from the obvious injury risk, don't forget his first 3 Whopper scores were against 3 teams with pretty ordinary Rucks. As it happens, his draw is pretty friendly again, just as he's coming back. Just keep an eye on how he goes against more established Rucks, if you get him, his draw isn't so good near the end of the season!
Good luck :)

Hey Footy,
within your positives you are assuming Hartung has some JS. I'm not sure he does. You might be swapping one problem Rookie for another. Having said that Hartung is at least on the bubble. Lineball call, go with your gut.

Hey brad,
I'm a declared Wingard fan, but I do think Boomer might outscore him. If you can use the Cash saved on Wingard quickly, and effectively, go Wingard, otherwise go Boomer.

Hi Rowsus,

Interested on your take on Matthew Jaensch at the moment.
He seems like he fits so many of your 'Supercoach Rules', either in his favour or against.

I recall at the start of the year you were against him and that his start to the year was a hot streak and not maintainable based on previous scoring history. You also mentioned that while he had done well for those who started him, that the boat had sailed.

Now he sits at $397k and probably fits in to one of your trade tables with a lot of 'green' suggesting we may be getting good value here and that he will score higher than what he's priced at for the remainder of the year.

I feel like if you were to choose a player to use as an example for all of your supercoach tactics, he would be ideal! Just wondering if you were looking for a 6th defender, would he be on your radar either this week or next?

Hi The MC,
there's not as much green in Jaensch's table as you might think!
I think he's underpriced to how he'll score from here, but I think he'll possibly score lower than we want from out D6.
While Hurn is a injury risk, I think he is better priced, and better placed to score at the level we want/need.
Here are their tables.

Thanks Rowsus.
Now considering downgrading Sandi to Naitanui. I know it is a huge risk but it allows me to bring it Selwood and Hartung for acres and JKH without dumping Tyson.
He said during the week his best football is coming up, and if he is right, we could be looking at a 100 average player for under 400k. Would you consider this a clever but risky move or a stupid one?

Hi Rowsus

I have 17 trades and $247K. I am concentrating mainly on leagues although always happy to improve my ranking on last year (currently 1733).

The trades I have planned are Tyson > Selwood and JKH > Wingard. My other optional trade is Lloyd/Ambrose to Cameron. Without the third trade I can only field 17 this week which isn't a major concern as I have come through the other two byes okay so due for a shocker! Just wondering what your thoughts are on the first two trades and in particular whether to grab Cameron a week early or wait. The other query is do I hold Lloyd and hope he gets a gig next week or take this as a sign of things to come and trade him out over Ambrose?

I think I'm finding it tough to decide as I have no idea what I will be doing next week. Ideally I'd like to do some sort of upgrade, either in defence or the midfield. This will probably mean another downgrade is needed to raise the cash.

Sorry for the long-winded post! Thanks.

You're welcome HoM,
I think, given your position, the risk is too high. Yes, you need to take some risks, but I can't see enough upside in this to try it this week.
I think you are best to wait until he gives at least some positive sign he can get back to 100+ on a regular basis before jumping on board. With a B/E of 95 this week he won't be going up too much in price if he goes large against Grundy. He then has a good test against Nth and Haw. Yes, his last 2 scores against Nth are 142 and 120, but keep in mind, the 142 was largely inflated by an after the siren, game winning goal, and the 120 was in 2012, when he averaged 114 anyway!

Hi Bobbie,
you're doing nicely! Given your preference for Leagues, just do the 2 trades this week. A donut won't hurt you, unless your match is close, against an important opponent. There's no need to struggle over Lloyd or Ambrose, and wonder how Cameron will do. All those questions might be answered for you next week, so just wait for now.
Good luck :)

Thanks. I think that is sound advice. At least I can have another look at Cameron before he's on the bubble and see what happens with Lloyd (and Ambrose) next week. Just glad I have enough cash to do the two upgrades without worrying about the third trade (kinda feels nice for a change so no doubt something will go wrong!).

Tried to rep you but need to spread the love.

Have conceded I may trade Tyson. While I know he is scoring, low b/e etc his bye is just making me force my hand. Even with good scores he only has a few weeks until he peaks. Trading him gives me other luxuries instead of doing other things just to get buy. Otherwise it's dump Taylor/Ambrose/Cutler/Lolyd who are cheaper and it will take one good score to bring them back into it. and Taylor is starting to find his feet.

I'm mixing up how I originally done it allowing me to backflip on tyson over the w.e.

So JKH for Selwood.
then Tyson for Cameron.

It then allows me to do any sort of upgrade. I originally thought Georgiou to Swallow which completes my def with McDonald and Cutler as D7 D8. One would maybe go for Bews.

Or I can go for a cheaper Hurn making easier to go Polec to JPK next week. It does mean though I pass up on Swallow all year unless I sideways Hanley at some point.

I could save some money by trading Cutler instead of Georgiou and leave him as a floater.

Or I could upgrade maybe taylor for a Griffen or trade Crouch if he isnt named. If I use one of those I have $620k to play with. Could also bring in Gray and switch him fwd later. Or Boomer. I like the idea of doing two upgrades so I can two two downgrades next week. Shenton and Bews.

Also I'm pretty screwed this week. With 3 trades and Crouch playing my maximum is 17. also another reason I'm liking two upgrades.

Tyson eventually becomes an expensive M9, or you use him as intended, to facilitate some easy(er) upgrades. I've traded him out this week, so I can make an easy upgrade next week.

Hi mate, only if you get a chance, what do you reckon?? :)

Round 10
Jay Kennedy-Harris ---> Charlie Cameron
Jared Polec ---> Shannon Hurn (via DPP)
Matt Crouch ---> Joel Selwood

$187,600

Round 11
Possibly OUT Sam Lloyd, and other rookies.
Possibly IN Nick Riewoldt/Pearce Hanley & Cameron Shenton

Round 12
Whichever out of Riewoldt/Hanley I don't get.

Thoughts??
