anyone think Lyon might rest a few this week?
Might be a touch early i reckon. If last year is anything to go by, he'll wait til very late before resting anyone (assuming they're top 2 or at least 4).

Yeah agreed, Lyon will want top 4 at the least. Their last 3-4 games are pretty tough and if it comes down to Rd 22-23 to secure a top 4 berth, can't see even Lyon resting his guns like Fyfe and Sandi.
The next two games after this week will be interesting though. GWS and St. Kilda (6 days later) offer a perfect chance to make sure some players are fresh for a challenging run home. Some could double up with St. Kilda and the split round.

Come on, Hawkas need a new midfielder! ;)
Please Hawks dont waste money on Mundy, he's already 30 and we need someone a little younger. Cotchin or Shiel would be better but the big fish is a certain Crow who comes out of contract at the end of next year (assuming i haven't missed him signing)

Yeah I tend to agree. Would love us to get Cotchin (just can't see it happening though), but I think we might be a chance with Shiel which would be great. We would get a minimum 10 years out of him compared to say 4 from Mundy, and rumours are that he wants out of GWS.

this years really proving how important it is to get your rucks right.
seems the ruck role in afl has evolved.
quality rucks kick goals seem to play almost like tall rovers getting quality possies around the ground, tackling and of course hit outs are a bonus to there game and scoring potential.
hope a few gun rucks gain ruck/fwd status next year.
there just absolute scoring machines when there on.

Warnock!!!!@!@@!!!
Been wanting to trade him for years and he can only tap ruck but gives you nothing else. The difference in ability to mark a ball between him and Casboult is scary. To think we had Jacobs and Warnock is sickening.Once Kruezer is back please goodbye Mr Warnock. Sick of a ruckman with no marking presence

Jacobs for such a big unit does remarkably well around the ground!

He's never had much luck so far getting an extended run of football to reach his potential. Forgetting SC, but as a Carlton fan I am worried about his body. He has got issues with his hips that either will never be ideal or have to be managed for all his career. He has actually been out for other injury reasons but that hip issues concern me he will always have to miss a game during a season every 6 to 8 weeks to get through a full season ok.
As a Carlton fan after seeing Warnock finally get to ruck all his own for a number of months it's allowed us to see beyond any doubt he is just not good enough around the ground with making his presence felt as a marking option. I don't think we can afford to play him with Kruezer when Kruze is back. For long term we need to get most out of Kruezer. His best is way better than Warnock because he is a presence around the ground. I cannot see any reason any more to experiment with Kruezer and Warnock together.
For mine I think as a club we settle on Kruezer being the clear no.1 ruck going forward and Casboult can help out when needed and get rid of Warnock.
Casboult is great value around the ground as a marking presence so Warnock just does not add attributes to our team we need if he wanted to be a regular in our 22.

As for SC itself, I for one, will not be planning to pick Kruezer in supercoach simply because even on a good year without any bad luck to injuries I expect Kruezer to miss a game or two to ease the load on his hips.

Daw being charged with 3 counts of rape.

North Melbourne footballer Majak Daw has been charged with three counts of rape relating to an alleged sexual assault in Altona North in 2007.
Victoria Police detectives filed a charges summons at court on Monday and Daw is expected to be served with a summons today.
It is believed the charges relate to allegations of penile, oral and digital rape.
Fairfax Media reported earlier this month that Daw had been arrested and interviewed in May over the offences allegedly committed in 2007.

Daw, 23, has reportedly denied the allegations.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed that detectives from the Sex Crimes Department had charged a 23-year-old man from Wyndham Vale with three counts of rape.
"The charges relate to an alleged historical assault in Altona North in 2007. As the matter is before the courts, Victoria Police will not be making any further comment," the spokeswoman said.
A filing hearing is scheduled for July 11.
Daw, the first Sudanese-born player to play AFL, joined the Kangaroos as a rookie in 2010, but has struggled to retain a regular spot in the team
In a statement, North Melbourne said the club would support Daw and he would remain available for selection at VFL and AFL level.
"The club respects the integrity of the legal process and asks that the right to privacy of all involved be respected," it said.
North Melbourne has declined to comment further.

I really detest the way the Age says "It is believed".

Either that is what is alleged and has been made publically available and ethical to print, therefore state it as a matter of fact of what has been alleged. Otherwise don't make guesses or assumptions and print them in a newspaper!

It's their MO. Allows a legal loophole in order to say, "we didn't say it was true", but thereby allowing them to print it pretty much as fact anyway. "It is believed", "Fairfax believes", "sources close to the etc. believe" - exactly how the smear campaign against EFC has been run. (I'm sure you're aware of that though. It ****es me off no end as well.)

This all smells a bit.
The alleged incident occurred in 2007, yet the girl waits until 2014 and when Majak Daw is quite well known for the matter to be bought forward. I'm not taking anyone's side here as no-one knows the full story, but I would've thought this would be something that you'd press charges for pretty quickly after it happened, would it not?

Also, for those who are unaware and the BS articles that keep writing the story as "Daw raping a 15 year old girl", he was 16 at the time.
