I have 5 trades left and will be using 3 in the next 2 weeks, this week...

Ablett > Pendles (no brainer)
Hallahan > Honeychurch (to cover Rocky out and assuming Halahan doesn't get picked this week.)

If Hallahan is picked I'll go McGovern > Honeychurch via Parker dpp

Has anyone actually taken up Presidency of the "No Trades Remaining Club" yet??

With all the talk of who should we trade GAJ to I'm going to hold him for one week.
Rockliff is prob the only one i dont have that i would put in, in his place.
Why did rockliff have to go get suspended this weeks of all weeks.
oh well better to be out this week than the week after i bring him in.

Will be sticking to this, this week been looking and no one else beside JPK who I would bring in but think less will prob get rocky because of waiting an extra week. Just need miles to hit another ton for me. Please!!!! Plus who knows gaz might make a spectacular recovery and only miss the one week. (Wishful thinking I know) lol

Hi Guys and Girls,

I would apprecaite some advice on my options for this week.

I have 5 trades and $218,200 in bank.

I have decided that GAJ will probably need to be traded out either this week or next so the way I see it these are my options:

Option 1.

Ablett to JPK and Shenton to Sloane (leaveing $59,500 in cash and 3 trades)

Dangerfield goes to forwards with Martin/Wingard in F6 and F7, Taylor becomes M9.

Option 2.

What are peoples thoughts on Birchall, he has had two poor weeks in a row (and due to drop another $40k to around $360k) this may be the last oppurtunity to fix him.

Birchall to Bartel and Ablett to SJ

(leaves 3 trades and $259k to make one more trade of Shenton to JPK or other mid >588k next week. Leaving 2 trades for injuries and Martin/Wingard as F6 and F7 and Taylor as M9)

What are others peoples thoughts and do you see any other options which suit my team.

If you can hold from getting Kennedy for a week then I definitely would do that. Due to drop quite significantly.

With that said, I'd choose option 2. I like SJ and Bartel is a gun - Birchall is a liability now so get him out.

Thanks for the feedback whiteTiga2km option 2 is probably my prefered option, but it is of concern going down to 2 trades after next week, with no cover in the back line.

What's not to like about Option 1?
Two highly rated players in and mids sorted.

So I was thinking and tinkering around with my squad and I think I've reached the point where I feel comfortable with such a trade:

Gaz/McGovern >> NDS/Petrie or Wingard

The cash generated from downgrading the Master to NDS will give me enough funds to upgrade my F7.
I would be missing out on potential monster scores from Rocky/JPK but I think my current MID (with NDS in there) should hold up just fine.
That would give me adequate cover through MID and FWD as I would be able to swing Shenton and one of Zorko/Dusty/Danger/Parker around, thus bringing my F7 into play when needed.
Will then be left with 2 trades, possibly for Mitchell and for a rainy day.
Thoughts?

 

[The Experiment]

I started the season with the aim of finishing as high up the rankings as possible, but having fallen behind the 8 ball after round 2 I have been playing catch up ever since. So with that and GAJ's injury in mind, I thought I would bring in a couple of 'less popular' players with the view of trying to make up ground on the 20,000+ ahead of me, so this week I will go

GAJ > Barlow
Ambrose > A.Swallow (via Boomer dpp)

Barlow missed 4 games earlier in the year so I can't see Lyon resting him at this stage and hopefully Swallow is coming into a bit of form

Leaves me with 2 trades

Hmm thinking maybe a cheaper premium this week as well as Honeychurch and then trade Gazza to Rockliff next week and then lop holing Swan and however I trade in through M8 and M9 for the rest of the year.

Maybe Cotchin or say a Prestia/O'Meara

I have a few things in mind, only 4 trades and 210k.

Can straight swap Gaz for Libba or Fyfe.

Also thinking straight swap to Parker.

OR lol

Gaz to Libba/Fyfe and Ambrose to Parker. That would push S.Martin to F7.

Or downgrade Currie to Thurlow opening a link. Trade Ambrose to Parker and play him in the MID for one week then next week gaz to rocky.

Ill have stuff all trades but if I at least bring Thurlow in I have Martin as Ruck/FWD cover and honeychurch in the mids to play around a bit.

I honestly think Sammy will be better for the run and you will see him get a lot better. If you could wait a week to get him that would be better but otherwise... he is the better value

Interesting to see 4% of teams bringing in Rockliff for GAJ this week...I assume this may reduce as the weekend draws nearer though

Not sure what Cotchins draws like but I'd be wary of when the taggers get to him.

Actually, upon reading your options closer I think that option 2 is the better one

I think, barring any surprises in the team announcements, that I'm gonna trade Gazza to Rockliff. I have decent cover (H Taylor or B Martin) via Hunt and think Rocky will score at 6-10 points more than JPK or Ward for the rest of the season.
