I know IDIG mentioned a couple of weeks back that they would be looking for a new chair of THE NO TRADES CLUB - 2014 and I am sad to say that I may need to put my hand up as a candidate for the upcoming season.

As happened to IDIG last season, a run of bad choices, a touch of bad luck and a tad too much trading has seen me use my final trade on Ablett this week, unfortunately leaving upwards of 100K in the kitty.

So I am left with the following squad - minimal depth and coverage on my interchange and a heavy reliance on Honeychurch and Kersten playing the rest of the year if any of the predicted resting / injury carnage continues in the MID/FWD space.

DEF: Bartel, Malceski, Swallow, Burgoyne, Enright, Birchall (Hunt, Georgiou)
MID: Pendles, JPK, Selwood, K.Jack, Barlow, Sloane, Beams, Dal Santo (Honeychurch, Hartung)
RUC: Sandi, Minson (Currie, P.Mitchell)
FWD: Danger, Boomer, Parker, Dusty, Roughy, Zorco. (Kersten, C.Cameron)

My aim is to finish top 1000 at the start of the season and this has contributed to my trading as Ive needed to constantly improve my team to close the gap on the overall leaders. That and trying to make the Div 1 top 8 were my goals - but now even if I do I'll probably be making up the numbers.

Please feel free to join me in the No Trades Left Club - 2014. It's lonely in here :(

Think I tempted fate last week by leaving myself one trade for the rest of the year.
At least I can leave my room now instead of sitting in front of my team. It's been 7 months. Anyone have a razor?

Pendlebury - Fyfe - Beams - Liberatore - Selwood - Cotchin - Johnson - Swan (Wingard - Acres)
Sandilands - Goldstein (Brown - King)
Dangerfield - Martin - Franklin - Martin - Zorko - Pavlich (Petrie - Honeychurch)

Decent coverage, I reckon you should make it donutless the rest of the season.

Gaz to Ward or similar this week with last trade and $117,000k in bank.
Gone too heavy on trades this year, and two sideway trades that went wrong. And a couple of premium injuries.

For interest sakes, can those without trades list their rank as well. It would be interesting to see how your teams improve/decline from this point onwards.

Looking at last year's thread, i went from 1,995 to 7,684 after using my last trade in round 17 :p

Yeah I am in a seriously similar position to you IDIG. Sitting 1759 right now. Have improved 6 weeks in a row and should (fingers crossed) have a full side this week depending what Birchall does, so I hold hope that I can continue my climb but I would expect to fall a bit in the final rounds!!

lol some itchy trigger fingers here.

From R2-16 there are only 33 potential opportunities to trade, and y'all burned through 30 trades already?! Should be playing AFL dreamteam hehe ;)

I agree with Sidd. Pretty solid team. You're a chance of holding your ranking.

Can I nominate for secretary of the no trades club? Last to be used this week on Gaz, likely to JPK.

Current ranking: 155
Final ranking: lord knows

D: McVeigh, Swallow, Simpson, Hanley, Hibberd, Enright (Jaensch, Bews)
M: Pendlebury, JPK, Selwood, Fyfe, Liberatore, Barlow, Murphy, Dangerfield (Taylor, Acres)
R: Sandilands, Mumford (Brown, Currie)
F: Harvey, Dusty, Gray, Parker, Zorko, Wingard (SMartin, Honeychurch)

Hanging on for the ride, white-knuckled.

EDIT: Oh, if anyone is playing me in leagues or the US open, I'm totally foxing and have 28 trades left. You should totally blow yours on speculative hail-Mary trades to get one up on me..
