Sandi out this week will make things very interesting for the teams at the top. Three of the teams will be forced to burn a precious trade to avoid a donut. Some of the other teams may elect to use a trade anyway if they have enough up their sleeve.

1. C-Money: Has both Ben Brown and Stef Martin as backup. No trade.
2. Oh Kill Em: Has Derickx and Currie on the bench who are very unlikely to play this round. 1 trade.
3. Torrential Raines: Has Stef Martin to switch with Thurlow as backup. No trade.
4. BigJennyTalia FFC: Has Currie and King on the bench who won't play. 1 trade.
5. Lob City: Has Derickx and Currie on the bench who are very unlikely to play this round. 1 trade.
6. Slobs: Has both Ben Brown and Stef Martin as backup. No trade.
7. Best Since Day One: Has Stef Martin to switch with Thurlow as backup. No trade.
8. Resident Evils: Has Stef Martin to switch with Thurlow as backup. No trade.
9. The Walking Dead: Has Ben Brown and Nankervis as backup. No trade.
10. Hopposhens: Has Ben Brown and King as backup. No trade.

Very nice BB. I'll be interested to see which of the teams will be willing to start Brown who looks like he's good for 60-70 points or take this as an opportunity to try and gain 50 points and maybe move on Sandi at the same time to creative a POD and hope he misses more than 1.

Yeah that will be interesting. My guess would be the teams that have 4 trades or more with only Ben Brown as backup will trade out Sandi. Any less than 4 trades will mean they need to save a trade and field Brown. Teams that can swing Stef Martin into the ruck this week are in a great position as they can expect a 100 from him and save a trade. Our very own 'Slobs' is one of those!

My big decision is whether to field B Brown/Ambrose or Roughead...... :p

Remember when Jay won and in that final week he benched Kreuzer over Mzungu...lol
I'm glad the teams at top end are being forced to think what to do, rather than everything straight forward. More fun to see the winners have some late season challenges to navigate in order to win. More rewarding when they win it too.

Couldn't agree more. Don't think we'll be seeing 1st hold on from 6 weeks out like previous years and if Sandi misses extra weeks, Martin's scores start getting affected by Berger, Fyfe gets rested, etc etc, anything's still possible.

Interesting , that coach never got Stefan Martin like most of other high rankers did. Has 2 mid rookies doing nothing and could open up def/mid link but almost too late to create a fwd/ruc link as needs two trades to do that. Looks like he will wear a donut for Sandi and hope he only misses this round. Unlikely to accept a donut when this close to the top. I'll be interested if he trades King to Wood :)

With Archie Smith the other rookie ruck he basically does not need King for emergency loophole scenarios so trading King or Smith for Wood would seem an easy convenient move for them. I think he has 4 trades left before this :)

Good luck to the Bomber supporter. Can two from same family take it out ? That would be fun :)

Yeah that decision to not have a DPP on the pine from day 1 has hurt me big time. Who would've thought bloody Stefan Martin would start pumping out tons week in week out though :p

Been quite amazing he not thrown any real stinkers in between the good scores. Could this round be the one ? ...lol..
I seen quite a few teams that had him and 2 normal rucks in team and the option to switch forward has not been existant.
Might have even been the case with team I beat in US Open round 1 from memory. Similarly I must admit I wanted one of the two leading coaches here to trade Cameron for someone like Apeness so they could have switched Martin forward if scoring well but don't think that happened last round. Not sure If they lost points they could have gained but does not really matter as it is all the rounds together that count for overall. One round of gaining points but losing them later on, maybe a reason to not do it. Not sure as my team not close to any such scenarios. I got unusual ruck links of Dixon, Ben Brown and Bellchambers set up many many weeks back. Bellchambers been a waste of space but Dixon should do his job this weekend as R2 and Jacobs R1. Glad I got rid of Sandilands so avoided headache this round that was always going to happen at some stage. Still, those that kept him got longer service than I expected but his scores been drying up a bit. I traded him when he was $513 k but he ended up probably making another $100 K more which was a little frustrating to see, that he kept playing so long without a break until now.

ROUND 9 Trades by me
OUT Langford ($281,000) IN Docherty ($285,000)
OUT Sandilands ($513,300) IN Brown ($117,300)
OUT Polec ($446,700) IN Dixon ($440,500)

Has a fair breeding bloodline though to Supercoach.
Ahhh, got to love Friday's. It's that time of the day.
Can I ask who the other person from the family is - the breeding we are speaking of here??
