I mean more long term. EG after Sandilands and Griffin are gone.
I'm in a UF keeper league. My rucks are Minson, Cox, West, King and A.Smith. I'm currently in my premiership window. I was runners up this season purely losing the final based on one player (had of I kept my monday line up I would have won ***)
Obviously Cox is gone, West is injured and Martin has taken over. So ATM I only have one playing ruck and need 2.
I've been offered a trade that sees me receive Sandilands, Hannath, Petrie in exchange for Kerridge, King, Pick 27 and Pick 41. I probably wont even use pick 41.
So I would have sandilands for now, just wanting to know if hannath is a better prospect than King. Not ideal to be playing a donut all season but obviously with Cox I had a donut in the GF and I still could have won.
Take this advice with a grain of salt, I'm not experts on both these teams' lists - just a preface.
If there's one thing Freo have, it is a ton of rucks.
Sandi
Clarke
Griffin
Hannath
Moller
Apeness
Both Hannath and Moller played last year when they were swamped with injures but Hannath was in front. Apeness is being groomed more as a forward at the moment, but obviously at his height he would be involved somewhat in rucking. Freo forward line looks at the moment post-Pav something like:
Crozier, Taberner, Walters
Ballantyne, Spud Traded as #1 Forward

P), Apeness
Post-15 if the two mentioned are gone you'd probably look at:
Clarke - #1
Apeness - filling that #2 role whilst forward
Hannath - #2 tap ruck
Moller
So right now you're looking at him as a future back up ruck at current pace, with Moller the only concern. I'd research him and see if he'll get promoted from rookie list. If he does, probably means that Sandi/Griffin are gone and they see him fighting Hannath for the #2. Conversely if he's delisted from rookie list, then it probably means that Apeness is definitely rated for that forward/ruck role, which may impact his game time.
Melbourne looks a bit tougher to rate. Post Jamar it appears that Gawn is the heir-incumbent, and he's up in the forward line currently. Spencer and Fitzpatrick have all played up forward but they're ruck too, but at least one of them isn't going to make it, assuming Fitzy. So that bumps King up a slot. At best case scenario he might be a backup on the list to Gawn, at worst he'll be third in line with a couple of others (like Spencer) preferred to be that second ruck playing forward.
Again, looking post-15:
Hannath - 2nd ruck, 3rd in line for games
King - 2/3rd ruck, 3rd in line for games
Hannath's future is clearer than King, though both aren't necessarily great.
So overall, not knowing what your draft depth is like, I'd say that's a good trade for you if your premiership window is only next season. Because Sandi + Petrie aren't likely to give you any production after that. Kerridge is good project-mid who's tagging at the moment so his numbers will be quite low - but Adelaide are stacked well for mids so ok to lose.
