First forward line lock for next season, Johann Wagner. Could see him slotting straight in, even into Ports team, and kicking 30+ goals.

No sh!t! I don't think it's a good idea, like back to square one! Sando put up with a lot of bull**** re KT and the resultant losing top draft picks and the loss of Dean Bailey pre season that was in no way his fault. Really don't know where they can go from here's that's an improvement.
He didn't progress the team I guess but as you say he was up against it. I like Sando. I hated what happened with Tippett from a club executive point of view. Which points to problems in administration.

He was also well liked by the players.

Well we must wait and see but gut feeling is I don't like it. It!

Bomber Thompson/Goodwin combo would be about the only thing possible at the moment that would make this look good. Worsfold would be ok but i don't see it happening. But if you start to see names like Ratten, Voss or Harvey in the mix the board are idiots, they would've been better off sticking with Sando for at least another 12 months and finding a decent senior assistant to guide the ship.

Well we can rule that out already....

I doubt he will even get a game next year. The reality is that only three Clubs (GWS, GC and Port) were interested in drafting him despite that he would only go on the Rookie Cat B list. Essentially a free hit (Other than paying his salary etc) for the Clubs and the majority turned him down.

Getting rid of Trigg and hiring ***an is a start but the other ring leaders of the boys club need to go.

That administration was one of the worst ones in the AFL - and that's some achievement considering we have Carlton and Melbourne! ;)

Hopefully Sanderson can get an AC role somewhere.

Since you've locked him in this early I gather you've also designated a long-term injury to one of Port's players. :(

Conspiracy Hat time but you could almost say Port were tapped on the shoulder to throw themselves in the ring for him. I mean, he supports them and the other two club are basically extensions of the AFL anyway :D

I like whoever the cats got better as a ruck option because ours were a shambles this year.

I heard today that they were the only 3 clubs who still had a Rookie Catergory B spot left

Federal Court decides ASADA/AFL investigation into Essendon was lawful, dismisses applications by Bombers and James Hird

ESSENDON players are staring at doping bans after the club and James Hird failed in a court bid to throw out the ASADA/AFL investigation.

Justice John Middleton struck down every objection against ASADA and AFL’s joint investigation into the Bombers, saying it was conducted under the paramaters of the law.

The Bombers were also ordered to pay costs.

Essendon and Hird argued in a three-day hearing in August that ASADA had gone beyond its lawful powers in conducting the joint investigation into the supplement program at Essendon.

“I will order the dismissal of the application by Essendon and Mr Hird,” Justice Middleton said.

“The nature and the conduct of the investigation was lawful.”

Justice Middleton said even if he had found the investigation was unlawful he would not have set aside the 34 show-cause notices issued to current and former Essendon players for the alleged use of banned peptide Thymoson beta-4.

He said the interim report provided to the AFL on August 2 last year was also lawful and dismissed objections to ASADA and the AFL sharing information, saying they did not breach ASADA’s confidentiality laws.

He said Hird and the players voluntarily took part in interviews knowing both ASADA and AFL representatives were in the room.

“It can hardly be said Mr Hird and the Essendon players did not consent to the information being disclosed to all in the interview room,” he said.

Just remember the court case was just about determining the lawfulness of the joint investigation.

It had nothing whatsoever to do with determining whether or not the players took any peds.

Which I'm sure everyone on here understands already!
