I actually don't care one way or the other if Boomer got off.
What I do hate is the perceived double standard.
I have no doubt if this happened during the season he would have gotten a week or two.
The AFL seem to have the stance now of:
During home and away games, if in doubt find them guilty.
During the finals, if there is any doubt, left them off. Possibly because they hate the thought of the nearly omnipresent threat of "We'll take it court, and see if we get him off there!" approach that used to come with most suspensions that caused players to miss finals.
Boomers contact was high, unnecessary, partly caused by Boomer jumping and caused bleeding Selwoods head. These days during the home and away part of the season, that means one week automatically, and then we'll see if we need to add more to that.
All we want from the AFL/Tribunal/MRP is consistency, whether it is finals or not!
