2016 Onwards Test Squad
1. David Warner (vc)
2. Ryan Carters
3. Joe Burns
4. Steve Smith (c)
5. Shaun Marsh
6. Mitchell Marsh (vc)
7. Matthew Wade (wk)
8. Patrick Cummins
9. James Pattinson
10. Josh Hazlewood
11. Nathan Lyon
12. Mitchell Starc
13. Jason Behrendorff
14. Nic Maddinson
15. Cameron Boyce
16. Marcus Stoinis
17. Sam Whiteman
18. James Faulkner
* Michael Clarke, Mitchell Johnson, Brad Haddin, Ryan Harris and Shane Watson all retired
* Either Mitchell Marsh or David Warner would take over the Vice-Captaincy
* Mitchell Starc is the first choice replacement for the quicks, Jason Behrendorff another young quick in my squad, Cameron Boyce to play ahead of one of the seamers if playing on a huge turning wicket (e.g. India)
* Matthew Wade to resume test keeping duties, Ryan Carters could also do the job however has been playing as just an opening bat in the Shield. Sam Whiteman is a reserve keeper and batsman.
* Nic Maddinson selected as a reserve batsman, could bat anywhere in the top 6, however preferably an opening batsman or number 3.
* Marcus Stoinis is a selection many would question, some wouldn’t even know who he is. However his ability with both bat and ball is already stacking up in the Shield (batting at 3 or opening, along with opening the bowling) and with another couple of years could be anything in my opinion. Will provide back-up as a batting all-rounder, who could fill almost any position in the side if required.
