With the SC cup I think they will have a cap on numbers, in the article it says

"Our new last-man-standing knockout competition sees users who qualify compete against another user until the final round when the overall champion is crowned".
I reckon it will be first in best dressed.
Does anyone have an idea on what the cap will be? They will want to cap it so the final 2 go against each other in round 22 ?
Any one who's good at maths willing to have a go at working it out?
Will be capped I'd think if there are 2 left in rd 22 at rd 2 there would need to be almost 2.1 million signed up and since the best you could hope for would be 400k by seasons end I'd say there is more to play out on this like the best 50% of losers scores also advance? Will wait and see I guess
Might start something like 6 or 7 rounds into the season.
For a Rnd22 Grand Final, the knockout competition would most likely start at Rnd5 where they could take the top 262,144 teams.

there were only 250,000 teams last season. How does the Dt Eliminator work?
Oh dear, well if they don't get 262,144 entries, they could start at Rnd6 where they could take the top 131,072 teams.
(or on a first registered basis if they go that way)
So yes, it probably makes more sense for them to plan a Rnd6 start, without them knowing how many entries there'll be.

So, league matches finish in Rnd 22. Does that mean that Overall also finished R22 or is it still R23?
Still round 23 mate. It's great for league matches though having the grand final in round 22. So many bloody restings in round 23 every year!

Agreed - I like the changes, but need to remember that mass restings in R23 will still hurt your overall score.

Whilst I wrote earlier something like Rd 6 was a possibility there is also the fact the multi-bye rounds might be skipped as some possibility.
If that was the case they may start earlier and the three weekends of the rounds with byes they take a break from the eliminator cup series.

I saw in newspaper today an add to highlight Supercoach is back next Friday.
It mentions Supercoach Cup only open to top 32,768 ranked news network subscribers (during Round 5)

So it does seem like it will start in Round 6 after first 5 rounds of letting rankings sort out what they need to run it. If my maths is correct this means 15 rounds of matches to decide the winner of that Supercoach Cup.
If they skip the 3 multi-bye rounds it means it can finish up in the last round of home and away AFL season.
Hopefully that is how they are doing it. If you can skip the multi-bye rounds for knock out type Cup it makes the most sense.

I think SuperCoach Gold Team Picker may now be closed.

I've tried getting to the website and it says "SuperCoach will be launching at midnight on the 30th of January".

I'm starting to shake. I'm starting to sweat. Has it just got really cold? I think I need to have a little bit of a lie down.

I read in the conditions last year that in the case of a tie for the overall the coach who registered earliest would be the winner!
