Chris Lynn currently on 250 not out for Queensland in the Sheffield Shield up against a bowling group of Pattinson, Siddle, Hastings, Ahmed, Christian and White. Knock includes 21 fours and 10 sixes. Always knew he was one to watch in the shorter forms of the game, but he might be a part of the test squad in years to come by the looks of things.

Anyone going to the game on Saturday? It was announced yesterday that more than 85,000 tickets have been sold, putting it on track for the highest ever crowd for an ODI! Should be unbelievably good.

yep should be a good one, however it will peak at ~92k due to sightscreen and a lot of other seats unavailable this weekend (source: ICC website)

going to the game in Adelaide on Sunday (INDIA v PAK), driving up Sat arvo... 50,000 indian and paki fans should create an amazing atmosphere !

and potential 1BILLION+ TV viewing audience

I've been to a few 90K+ cricket games. Boxing Day test crowds the last couple of years, absolutely electric in there at the G. Think Boxing Day 2013 was a world record cricket crowd from memory.
Did not notice the Test match a few years ago topped a new record.
Have not bothered to goto cricket for a number of years. Used to go 2 or 3 times each summer but amount of one dayers played and rotations of team not being full strength meant I stopped going. Although this tournament expect teams to at least start at full strength where possible. The highest crowd at one dayer that was not part of World Cup was 1984 one dayer of 86,133 on Jan 22 , 1984. West Indies v Australia. Went as a teenager and remember people trying to offer us $100 or more for our tickets but we did not care. We wanted to watch the cricket. Trying to beat West Indies back then was like climbing Mount Everest. It was exciting to try though. Looks like that was biggest crowd I been too. I remember took a few hours for us to travel in as teenagers as we lived well over an hour and a half out from city back then. Long trip to come in and people trying to buy your tickets outside the G...lol.. We were never parting with our tickets for any price after that long trip getting there. Was exciting day. Cricket today at G will have similar great atmosphere. Hopefully stops raining some time in next 3 or 4 hours so it ready to go at 2-30 pm.

Cricket World Cup

Thought I would create a separate thread for general discussion on the World Cup.

To start of with I am not a big fan of the dark blue graphics in the NZ Sri Lanka game, far too dark and blocking seeing anything behind it! Much prefer the more modern see through graphics.

I discounted the sub continent teams, even though Pakistan won here back in 92.

Tempted to pick Australia but have a feeling they will slip up somewhere.

Can't believe South Africa haven't won a World Cup yet, tipping them to finally break through.

New Zealand make 331 against Sri Lanka to kick off the Cup.

I get the feeling that their are going to be some massive totals this World Cup, particularly one of the main countrys bat first against a minow.

I think we will win the comp and I'm usually slightly pessimistic towards my own sides (predicting Carlton to finish 15th this season currently - mind you this still doesn't balance the number of deluded Blues fans I've heard predicting a top 8 if not a top 4 finish).

Got Williamson (c), Anderson (vc), Sangakkara and Matthews playing in the fox sports fantasy comp. Funny that NZ play twice in the first round so your captain is essentially x4. Looks like I should have switched the vc and c but I can't really complain about a couple of 50s.

still blindly gonna back India ... just need the bowlers to step up
Wrong part of the world for the Indians to have a chance later in the tournament i think. I can only see the winner coming from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
I think New Zealand could be a bit of a surprise packet. They love playing at home and on small grounds which could get them far this tournament.

My predictions for the top 4 in pools A and B are:

Pool A:
1. Australia
2. New Zealand
3. England
4. Sri Lanka/Scotland

Pool B:
1. South Africa
2. India
3. Pakistan
4. West Indies/Zimbabwe

I selected South Africa in the poll.

Picked Aussies in poll but think very open between South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
Aussies v NZ in final would be epic. Underarm Gate Two....lol..

Michael Clarke could be very important. If he stays on field expect him to go well.

My 15 year old god son, who is cricket mad, reckons the Kiwis are full of guns and will win… I'll stick with him
