INJURY ALERT | Shane Biggs has sustained bone bruising in his knee which has put his standout preseason on ice for the moment.
From the Bulldogs website;
“Shane had a little bit of bone bruising in his knee, through a contact injury. We’re just working through to make sure that settles down in the appropriate way and managing his loads but he’s coming back into full training as well.”
Damn the doggies can't take a trick at the moment

That might be the only silver lining for the season. Hopefully pick 1 is a Jaegar O'meara one or we can dangle it in front of a few teams for some quality young players (GWS owe us for Ward)
They probably feel they have compensated us for Ward lol.

pick 19 will be handy too.

Swans star Kurt Tippett ruled out of NAB Challenge
Matt Thompson and Nathan Schmook March 3, 2015 4:49 PM

SYDNEY Swans star Kurt Tippett will not play in the NAB Challenge after suffering a lower leg injury in last Friday's intra-club match. The Swans are hopeful, however, he will be available for round one despite missing up to four weeks of training as a result of the setback.

Tippett, who has otherwise enjoyed a strong pre-season, hurt his right tibia/fibula joint during the intra-club game at Marrickville. "Kurt has had an outstanding pre-season so we don’t expect this setback to significantly impact his readiness for round one," Swans football manager Tom Harley said in a statement provided to AFL.com.au. "He is likely to sit out our three NAB Challenge matches but at this stage remains on track for round one."

Tippett's past two seasons have been restricted by knee injuries and suspension, meaning her has played only 26 games since joining the Swans as a high-profile recruit at the end of 2012. He has focused on building leg strength this summer and had been earmarked to play more time as a support ruckman given his increased fitness base.

The 27-year-old spoke to AFL.com.au last month about the importance of building consistency in his training ahead of the new season. "Completing a full pre-season just gives you the confidence to be able to go out there and hopefully play every game," he said.

Young midfielder Jake Lloyd has recovered from a minor elbow injury, also out of last week's intra-club, and will seek selection for Friday NAB Challenge match against Brisbane at Co*** Harbour. Star forward Lance Franklin and midfielder Jarrad McVeigh, who strained a calf last week, missed the Swans' intra-club match but are on target to play pre-season games. Defender Ted Richards is also close to resuming following a hamstring setback.

We're in for a tough season that I am not emotionally prepared to pay. Instead of going forwards I fear that we may not win more than 4-5 games with the lose of experience.
At the same time if we kept that experience we wouldnt win enough to make the 8. We would have still done extremely well to have won 10 games. But then what would happen when we lost that experience in 12-24 months time anyways. We would then have to take a backward step in 2 seasons after our win/loss ratio would have suggested to be in the mix for 8th. Better to take that one more backward step now, get an extra 44 games into these kids and hopeully get 2 gems in the draft that only need a half a season to be ready enough to contribute to a top 8 side.

lol, I can always find a way to sell BS hope ;)

St Kilda's Ray may miss 14 weeks after rupturing hamstring tendon

ST KILDA has been dealt a serious injury blow, with veteran midfielder Farren Ray expected to miss the first two months of the season due to a ruptured tendon in his right hamstring.

The 197-gamer suffered the injury during Saturday’s three-point NAB Challenge loss to the Brisbane Lions.

He is expected to be sidelined for 12-14 weeks, ruling him out until about round eight.

“After a successful operation, Farren is resting and we are confident he will make a full recovery,” general manager of football performance Jamie Cox told the club's website.

“He will have the appropriate rehabilitation and the injury is similar to some that we have seen in the past so we know how to deal with it.”

The news follows a hamstring strain sustained by Jack Billings against the Lions, which has the young gun racing the clock to be fit for round one against Greater Western Sydney at Etihad Stadium.

Shane Savage (hamstring strain) and Dylan Roberton (hamstring soreness) are also set to miss pre-season matches, but both are expected to be available to face the Giants.

In other injury updates, emerging half-back Jimmy Webster remains six weeks away with a ruptured tendon in his finger, while left-footed utility Brodie Murdoch has been listed as indefinite as he recovers from lower back discomfort.

However, head physiotherapist Andrew Wallis hopes 21-year-old Murdoch will be fit soon.

“We’ve listed him as indefinite honestly because we don’t know when he will be back, but we’d like to think his rehab is going smoothly,” Wallis said.

In better news, ruckman Tom Hickey (knee), Luke Dunstan (ankle) and Daniel Markworth (shoulder) will be available for selection to face Essendon in Morwell this Saturday.

Hickey hasn't played since round 17 last year, but second-year midfielder Dunstan and Markworth impressed in a recent intra-club match.

Meanwhile, tall backman Tom Simpkin is expected to be fit for the Saints' third NAB Challenge game against Hawthorn after strong rehabilitation from an ITB release (an operation that lengthens the strong fibrous band that runs down the outside of the leg and knee).

If you didn't have newnes in yet I'd be putting him in now lol
I'm staying disciplined and not getting him! Goes against my rules for picking breakout contenders.

He'll prob average 100 and hurt me massively...

Posted this in the West Coast v Port thread as well...

There was an article in the West Australian today about Nic Naitanui.

It said that NN will launch his 2015 season in an intra-club hit-out next weekend.

Adam Simpson eased concerns about Naitanui's build-up to the season, declaring he was fit but had been saved one interstate trip.

"It is just a flight he doesn't have to have" Simpson said. "We will play a bit of a scratch match next week, He will play in that."

"Nic could have played this week, Selwood could have played this week." Simpson said.

So that should help ease everyone fears a bit for NN. He will have the intra-club match and the 3rd NAB Challenge game vs Freo to prepare. Just means we won't have SC scores for the intra-club.

Hey boys. Got my draft day today and need to exclude blokes from my list who have LTI's. If you could give me a chop out who you are aware of that would be great. Libba and mckenzie are ones I have come up with

More rumours floating around re Nic Nat and his groins....
Heard that yesterday as well. Apparently radio over in WA is "reporting" on it, but i haven't heard anything first hand or seen anything confirmed... Yet.

All will be revealed over the next week or two so I assume. If he doesn't line up for the final game vs Freo, we will know that there is some fire behind this smoke.

Would anyone include him in their team without a NAB cup game but still named for Rd 1?

Its a big call either way.
