All will be revealed over the next week or two so I assume. If he doesn't line up for the final game vs Freo, we will know that there is some fire behind this smoke.

Would anyone include him in their team without a NAB cup game but still named for Rd 1?

Its a big call either way.

I hope he doesn't play so I can name Lycett as R2. No way would I pick NicNat on the back of no NAB Cup.

I thought I read Nic Nat will be competing in a WCE intraclub sometime this week, and if he gets through that will play against Freo?

That's what Adam Simpson said on the weekend. He said that he is fit and could have played against Port but the Eagles decided to save him from a flight east. The intra-club match is on this saturday I think.

Haven't heard these rumors of NN having groin problems. though I must say I don't listen to the radio very often.

It appears that the rumors come from Kim Hagdorn from the Sunday Times. He is one of the most least credible football journo's in the country. His info is usually way off and quite often made up.

He reckons NN will be out until at least round 5 because apparently his OP has flared up.

If Simpson said he will play in the intra-club, I tend to believe him. No need to lie to us especially when he has been pretty honest about Darling.

You gotta be ****ting me. The footy world will be in uproar if the number 1 prospect by some margin is a swans academy pupil and they get him at pick 16+
The academy selection process has changed since they got Heeney. It's extremely complicated but from memory under the new criteria Sydney would have needed to give up there first 3 picks to get Heeney.

Little bit harsh giving up 3 picks. Although I don't remember what first 3 picks swans had. But certainly it would seam fair if they gave up round 1 and 2 picks.

I think it can be spanned over two years where we give up 2 consecutive Rd1 Draft picks.
But not really sure.

It will probably be the death of Academies in the Eastern states if the rules are unfavorable because eg. the Swans certainly won't invest money if they aren't getting the fruits of their labor.

Personally i think the AFL should take over running them as NSW and QLD state acadamies while retaining links to the local AFL teams. It's ridiculous compromising the draft the way it does and they've only made it more complicated now but i agree that the clubs deserve a return for the money they put in.
