[mancrush]Would love Wingard to have a great year this year. He's not in my side, but I love the way he plays the game and it'd be cool to see him do well [/mancrush]
Hes on the never again list for me, far too inconsistent, goes missing for large periods then does something flashy

How many injuries do that Saints actually have???
It sounds like just about all of them :p
Wright AND Montagna confirmed out for round 1.

The Saints just can't catch a break.

Might have saved myself some blushes as was seriously considering Montagna as a pinch hitter.....
The AFL might have to let St Kilda have a few top up players the way it's going down there!

Grab your boots, and head to Saints training Guys! You might just get a gig in round 1! :p

edit - on a side note, I can see some GWS players posting some monster scores in Round 1!

Looks like I need to be worried as I have Shaw in my back-line and he won't even see the ball against the Saints...

Hamstrung pair add to Dockers' worries ahead of round one
Alex Malcolm March 22, 2015 11:00 PM

FREMANTLE has some significant injury issues ahead of round one with Nick Suban and Alex Silvagni both likely to miss with hamstring problems. Suban injured his right hamstring early the first term of the Dockers' 19-point win over West Coast on Sunday afternoon at Domain Stadium. Suban immediately had ice applied to his hamstring and coach Ross Lyon said after the match it appeared likely he would miss round one. "It looks like a grade one hamstring," Lyon said post-match. "I would think it's not ideal."

Hayden Crozier and Stephen Hill rolled ankles but Lyon said both should be fine. Defender Alex Silvagni also suffered a hamstring injury during the week and was withdrawn from Fremantle's squad before the match. "He hurt his hamstring at training," Lyon said. "So he'll miss round one as well." Zac Dawson will be unavailable for round one as he continues to recover from ongoing groin soreness.

Paul Duffield (rib), Michael Barlow (ankle), Tendai Mzungu (hamstring) and Matt Taberner (Achilles soreness) will all have to prove their fitness over the next fortnight to be selected to face Port Adelaide at Domain Stadium on April 5. Lyon confirmed that Taberner would need to play for Peel Thunder in the WAFL next Saturday to be in contention for round one. The coach also confirmed that Barlow and Duffield could play for Peel.

Star forward Hayden Ballantyne is battling a calf problem. Ballantyne told Fox Footy on Sunday it was a 21-day injury that he suffered against the Sydney Swans last weekend and he hoped to be fit for round one. "It's only a minor little calf," Ballantyne told Fox Footy. "I'm aiming for round one. I'm not too fazed. If there's no hiccups I'll be playing round one." Lyon said before the match that Ballantyne was more unlikely than likely to face Port Adelaide.

Despite the mounting injury concerns Lyon said his club would not use it as an excuse heading into round one. "We don't make excuses," Lyon said. "We have a few challenges like all clubs have, with personnel, but we're a no excuse footy club. "If we don't win it's because we haven't been good enough."

West Coast sweats on defenders' fitness
Alex Malcolm March 22, 2015 11:50 PM

WEST Coast coach Adam Simpson is hopeful Mitch Brown and Will Schofield will be fit for round one as the Eagles desperately strive for a defensive structure that can cover the loss of reigning best and fairest Eric Mackenzie. Brown (hamstring tightness) and Schofield (foot) both missed the Eagles' 19-point loss to Fremantle in the last NAB Challenge match at Domain Stadium on Sunday.

Jeremy McGovern and Elliot Yeo were forced to play as key defenders as the Dockers scored 31 times from 45 inside 50 entries.

Simpson is hopeful Brown and Schofield will be available to face the Western Bulldogs on Saturday, April 4. "Those two guys we're hoping are available for round one, we really are," Simpson said. "Both could've potentially got up this week but we just can't risk it. "So we may have to play them in the WAFL. We'll see how we go." The Eagles' affiliate WAFL club East Perth has a fixture next Saturday for the pair to play in if necessary.

Simpson also has to find some solutions in the forward half with key forward Jack Darling still recovering from his foot stress fracture. The Eagles are hopeful Darling could play by round five or six but they need to find some options in the meantime.

Young draftee Tom Lamb has played in all four of the Eagles' pre-season matches. The 193cm Victorian was selected with pick No.32 in last year's NAB AFL draft from Dandenong. He gathered 13 touches, took four marks and kicked 1.1 against Fremantle. Simpson said he could potentially play round one. "He seems to have adapted pretty well to the intensity," Simpson said. "He's still going to make some errors but we've got to have a bit of patience. "We also don't want to rush him straight in. There's another level to go to for round one. "But we'll review the game and see how he worked off the ball."

Sydney Swans' Lance Franklin will be fit for AFL round one after preseason head knock
Updated 18 minutes ago

Sydney Swans general manager Tom Harley has confirmed Swans star forward Lance Franklin will be fit and firing for the AFL's opening round. Franklin sustained a heavy concussion when knocked unconscious in a collision with team-mate Gary Rohan just minutes into the Swans' pre-season win over Greater Western Sydney on Sunday.

Swans co-captain Kieren Jack suffered an abdominal injury and was taken to hospital along with Franklin. However, Harley said on Monday both stars would be fit to play in the Swans' campaign opener against Essendon on April 4.

He will. Neither Tunbridge or McInnes who where both the subs yesterday showed that they where better options than Lamb. I think just the fact Lamb started and played another full game is a great indication of how he is rated. He will have those periods of going quiet during games but his amazing endurance is a massive weapon. He should have had 2 goals instead of one yesterday after an incorrect goal decision that wasn't reviewed when it should have been.

I'm super excited to have this kid on our list. He was an absolute steal at pick 32.

That would be right, Gary Rohan trolling SCers yet again.
