It depends what that $100k is getting you, Ollye. If it's just sitting in the kitty, I'd go with Goodes. If it allows for a speculative premium to become a proven premium then it's definitely worth looking at.
Agreed, i'm looking at going Goodes > Brown which allows me to go Dangerfield > Fyfe/JPK. Not sure what to do yet.

How vital do people see Salem as having?

I make some changes last night to get him in (for Lonie) which included dropping Hunt down to Goodes (doh!) but I think my team looks worse with him in it than out of it... 70k extra is a lot to spend on a speculative, 2nd year rookie. Only have 2 on field rookies up front so if I take him, I'll be benching Hogan, which makes me think he's not as important as he would be if I had 3 rookie forwards on field, and the money would be better spent beefing up premiums/rookies elsewhere.

I'm not sold on Sheed at his price, I actually went with Lambert at M11 plus I have all the others you mentioned. Your options from the selected teams seem to be: Van Berlo, Newton, Sheed, Brayshaw, O'Rourke, De Goey, Hartung, Cockatoo, Lang, Garlett, Sinclair, Gregson, Nelson. Apologies if I missed anyone. Maybe just wait and see who avoids the vest - the cheapest decent chance there would be Lang in my opinion, who could be quite a nice option.
Thanks BA, sound advice, looks like it is wait and see

I think you may be right. Salem is important if you have 3 playing Fwd rookies, but if you only have 2 then you could probably do without.

Thanks ba. Atm it's just sitting in the kitty. Is Swan a must? Because I was thinking about upgrading him to a proven premium.

The worry for me with Goodes is that he may be named as sub.

Swan is a proven premium! :p

But I know what you mean. I think the Danger to Fyfe example is worthwhile but Swan to a Bartel/goddard type not so much.

Something for SCS peeps. All rookies (<$216k) who are starting this round and their NAB scores. Did this for myself, figure others may find it useful as a last minute rookie cheat sheet. Red for already played, Orange for Geelong/Hawthorn with final squads not known.

What combo of rookies is everyone getting? Here is mine:

D: Brown, Mcintosh, Saad
M: Cripps, Van Berlo, Heeney, Vandenburg, Ellis-Yolmen, Miller, Nelson (Sinclair if sub)
R: O'Brien
F: Clark, Hogan, Lamb, Mcgrath (Lonie if sub)

What do people think of Cameron McCarthy and Dean Towers? One or both could be due for a breakout season.

Ahmed Saad vs. Lamb at F8 ??
Lamb. Just as I think st kilda saad is a stay around 55 to 60 point player, whereas Lamb may be boom or bust, but just may have that one big game to boost his price.

What's people's thoughts on Oxley's scoring abilury and JS?

I want js from my last rookie back spot, so I have gone Brown over him - have Saad and McIntosh to make me the D6 points ;)

That said, if the Pies get belted tonight (I think they will lose if nothing else) then there will be a lot of js issues at Collingwood! I see Buckley keeping his mature spine players and changing the young boys constantly, my opinion/guess only

Would you go Sheed over Newton?
This is probably the last decision i'm gonna have to make with my team.

Newton to play shortly, not sub and Sheed who's unlikely to be sub as well (ultimate jinx) so now it just comes down to who we think will score more.

Fairly confident whichever one i pick will be the wrong one :/

Just about to post the same question...

I'm thinking Newton. Not the sub and playing in a team where he shouldn't be the sub/subbed off where as Sheed is playing in a better team and could be subbed...

Personally, I would back Sheed and his scoring potential shown at juniors level over Newton.
Yeah I've been on Sheed all preseason. Not gonna let the order of matches sway me into picking Newton just because he plays first.

Just preparing myself for Newton to ton up now :(
