So expect rocky to miss 8 plus weeks then?
He does have broken ribs and a punctured lung - neither are easy things to heal from. He spent the last little while in hospital and only went home tonight I heard - to go from that to playing competitive AFL is a big step, 8 weeks would be a minimum imo!

Add to that we start to hit the byes then, depending on how the season is going Brisbane may rest him through the byes. THEN we have his low score to cycle through, and see how he's running, possible final mid grade (if anything!?) or lock him in with Libba for next year?!

I don't get why everyone is getting on Newton?

JS looks great, but he needed to kick 2 goals to reach 78 points. Unless you think he's going to kick 40+ for the year, the 78 a game looks unsustainable.

Angus Brayshaw way more impressive for that $$ - 9 touches and 9 tackles for 89 points. And he was subbed off. Sure the 9 tackles might not be sustainable, but he could easily push averages to 14 touches, 6 tackles, in 80% game time.
Agree with you that Brayshaw looks the goods and could go big this year. I'm going to wait until next round but I'm going to turn either Sheed or Cripps into him.
I agree he isn't a great cash cow but it doesn't look like we have a lot of choice this year. Bernie Vince has to come in and Roos has been clear about not wearing out young players. I guess we'll see this week or next when the teams are named.
A bit about Roosy flagging managing Brayshaw - http://t.co/rRnWRFATov

Can any eagles fan shine some light on sheed. Played the right possistion to score well but just didnt give anything.
Just a shocker? Worth fielding this week?
Will probably field him and cripps again if there not dropped or sub. Hoping they score better for there price tag

Sinclair or Lonie?

I might bring in one of these to replace Touk Miller. Alan Richardson seems to prefer Lonie going by time on ground. Does anyone have a bit of knowledge?

Certainly no inside knowledge but I thought Sinclair was great this weekend and his style of game should be more supercoach friendly than Lonie's if he stays in the team. After this week I would be surprised if he was dropped or the sub in the next couple of games. For what it's worth I already have Lonie and am probably going Miller to Sinclair this week.

Thanks. I need a bit of help with the decision because Sinclair is a year older and a bit more developed but Lonie has had more game time. There seems to be a lot of love for Van Berlo this week but I think Lonie, Sinclair and McGrath could still be better cash cows and most coaches have a m/f they could push into the midfield if they want Lonie or McGrath.

Didn't see either of McGrath's games but I think I'm more confident in van Berlo averaging 80 than in Lonie averaging 60. I think Sinclair could well end up a better cash cow than both of them.

I'm currently looking at Lamb --> McGrath, Cripps to NVB. Not exactly gamechanger trades and it means I keep Miller. I could go NVB to Miller but would rather keep a bit of cash, will see how teams look.

Morning GG, I have to say a from a Lions perspective, I'm rapt! He did some brave things yesterday, committing to the ball irrespective of impending collisions.....most notably Waite crunching him. I've seen him in person and he's small by league standards but will bulk up no doubt. To answer your question, Leppa will like how he's going about it. He's also quick, willing to take the game on and pretty clean. One shining light for me from yest abysmal performance.

Edit: in SC terms not a must have but happy he's on my bench.

Cheers mate, morning to you to.

Yeah I saw his first game and was very, very impressed in the way he went about it. I like the fact you mention his JS is fairly decent given his first up performances. I'm tempted to got Cripps to McGrath, or if Cripps plays then possibly Miller to McGrath. But I'm trying to also get Brodie Smith in (if he plays) and that could well depend on who I trade out. So getting on McGrath for Cripps might free up a bit more coin which would be good.

Test Oxley and use FD :D

Seriously considering trading Touk Miller for Cory Adamson. Pretty much have every rookie nailed (barring maybe Cripps for NVB), weighing up the benefits of a DEF/MID FD, in addition to the MID/FWD FD I already have (if Lambert misses)

Lambert > Vandenberg, unless you want to keep him as a floating donut. If so, then selection this week may be your guide.

Answer will likely be in the team sheets. Miller could be dropped, Lambert may be injured (how long for is the question) and Cockatoo probably will be picked but sub risk (late in round so answer there unknown). As you don't need cash due to 1st trade, the target is Miller or Lambert.

Miller - has had two full game and whilst GC have been positive on his impact, his SC scores have been poor.

Lambert - showed more scoring potential based on points per minute but only 43% TOG. If injury update is 2-3 weeks then there is a good chance he may not be back for a while given Deledio will be back as well. Lambert offers DPP flex so if injured, unless you want a floating donut, then I would trade him.

Vanderberg vs NVB - Vandenberg offers a higher return on capital and likely similar $$ gain and would focus on him. Spare change combined with Ablett loose change will help an upgrade in week 4-5.
