I have about 190k which is just short ): also need about 30k to go Miller-Clark
Do you have enough cash leftover from Ablett to go Salem ---> Bont?
While it chops a cash cow, the equation comes down to, what do you expect them each to average?
If you believe Bont will only score at F6 level, from here on in, you don't consider it. If you think he will be at F2/3 level, I'd jump in and do it. Unless you believe Salem can average a bit more than high 70's to 80. It's never easy, is it?

Yes Hawks next week is probably one week too late! Thanks Rowsus, food for thought and it will come down to how much cash I can free up next week. $140K in the bank is a start.

Hey Rowsus, three players who I'm targeting this week are: Fyfe, Bont, NVB.

Assuming I get NVB, do you think Fyfe or Bont is more important? Have 200k before these trades.

Cheers mate :)

Hey Rowsus, what do you think of Adams>Bont?

I do consider Adams to be a solid candidate for F5 or F6 at an average of 95 is for the season, but considering Bont's form, it could very possibly be that by paying an extra 50k I am getting myself a F1 or F2

And what are your thoughts on Alex Rance

Haha, I 2nd these.
I have Adams too but am looking at Bont (obviously) and a possible Hibberd-Rance...Hibberd as a non-contested player just doesn't look scoring-favourable.

Hey Rowsus,

Pretty average start for me.
With Bartel a late out and Broadbent getting hit early, Ablett, and not getting Oxley on the field (not to mention poor capt. choice in Selwood) I need to look at improving my side.
Rookie wise it's not too bad apart from say Miller, an injured Lambert, Goodes and a non playing Cripps (hopefully will be back next game)
Apart from NVB I have the most decent Rookies in my side. Should I still chase NVB? I personally think I should just let him slide and concentrate in other areas.
Brought in JPK for Rocky last week and now it's time to offload Ablett.
Still yet to get Pendles in so I am thinking Ablett to Pendles and will leave me just enough cash to go Goodes to Docherty who I nearly had , like yourself from the start.
Do u see this as the right move? Or should I , like everyone else look to get 'The Bont' in??
I already have a Bulldog in Wallis who has started well for me so I am thinking I might have to let Bont go.
Any suggestions appreciated

Hi Rowsus.

Brett Goodes?

I already have McIntosh, Saad and Oxley and I won't have the money to get to a keeper. Worst case scenario is that he is the sub again and starts losing money and the doggies play Sunday so most of my options have already played.

First question: Nathan Brown versus a mid pricer? Bruce, Laird, Hunt, Shenton, Roberton, Ramsay.

Second question: if he gets dropped is there any value using him as a loophole until I get a trade I'm happy with or do I just take one of the options available to me now even if they aren't ideal?

Thanks.

Rowsus, love the dedication you put into the website mate.

Quick question. Which trade would you prefer out of (1)Touk Miller to NVB (current mid rookies are Heeney, VDB, Anderson, CEY, T Miller and * D Rich) or (2) TBC to Bont? (forward line atm is TBC, Buddy, Swannie, Dusty, Salem, Hogan, M Clarke and Lambert)

Current rucks are Nic Nat and Goldy. Option 1 seems like the best long term move for cash generation, option 2 has more risk/reward. Do you see any rookie rucks getting a game a bit later on, ie Nankervis?

Hey Rowsus

I did ok last week however i feel i need to make a few changes to my squad. I dont normally like hitting the trade button this early on in the season but i feel i need to. My main aim is to win my money league. I currently have ablett, cripps and b goodes in my team that are becoming a liability.

i dont know much about cripps other than he pulled out of the match due to a sore back. Is it worth trading cripps to vb or is it best to save a trade?

goodes seems to be my other liability as he was a sub however i believe he played in the midfield when he came on but i could be wrong. do you think its worth trading b goodes to a rookie like brown. i have ox, mcintosh, saad at the moment. my feeling is to keep b goodes unless he doesnt play this week.

the main issue that i have which i am in two minds is ablett. i recall eade saying on a radio show that ablett devloped frozen shoulder and he had hydrodiliation. frozen shoulder can take up to 2 years to recover. he doesnt look healthy and he is very limited with his movement. i am not saying he wont come good in the next 6 weeks however i dont want to take the risk and save a trade if he pulls out for the remainder of the season or misses games which is a small possibility. is it worth trading to someone like JPK or keeping ablett?

Morning Rowsus,

Was hoping I wouldn't need your advice this early but I've started the year terribly and fear my chances at top 1000 may already be gone. Therefore I want to trade smartly and perhaps take a little risk to get me back on track.

So, time for GAZ to go and I made a huge error in getting Clem Smith and Touk Miller. One or the other would've been ok but not both. Anyway, I'm moving Smith on for now (and GAZ). So questions.....

1/which rookie of NVB or Heeney - leaning towards NvB for JS.
2/can afford any premo, do I get JPK, Sloane, or risk Bont or Wines, both of whom I toyed with preseason
3/anyone I'm missing? Already have selwood, pendles, Fyfe, Neale and all other decent rookies.

Thanks mate!

Hey Rowsus,

Do you think it's worth a trade going from N.Brown -> Oxley?
Mainly from a cash generation standpoint as they would be D8 in my team.

Along similar line Rowsus...

If you have all of the cheap cash cows, except for maybe NVB, how would you prioritise the following trades.

1. Get in NVB - leaves 200K in the bank and stands to potentially profit 150K
2. Get in the Bont - leaves nothing in the bank

The equation is a simple potentially cash generation v potential points gained.

Option 1 gives you flexibility to upgrade to a MID premium quicker at the cost of an extra trade.

Option 2 gives you a potential breakout candidate who ticks all the boxes.

Hi Rowsus,

At what point back/behind (in terms of points and rounds) do you go a little POD'ish against the leading pack.

I know too early now...but at what point if you were 50-50 split on 2 players and one was POD, would you be swayed.

Or if you were 53-47 between a common premium and a POD premium, at what point would you do the 47-premium to give you a chance to bridge the gap.

Thanks

Hey Rowsus,
I have M.Johnson, just wondering are you concerned about the role he is playing? Seems to be playing more key position rather than the loose man off half back. Was lucky to get to 85 on the weekend with some junk time stats.

Hey dyii,
it actually depends on how you were reaching Fyfe (do you still have Ablett/Rocky?).
It also depends on if it is just a matter of which week. ie - if you get Bont this week, are you still getting Fyfe next week?
If it is a case of you can only get one this week, and the other one waits for another opportunity to come in later, you get Fyfe.
If it is one this week, and the other next week, you get Bont this week.
Fyfe has a B/E of 110, so would need to score a 150 to go up $18k in price.
Bontempelli has a B/E of -19, so if he scores 80 this week, he will go up about $44k.

Hi Lenny, I too am an MJ owner...and while not wanting to speak on Rowsus's behalf, this article might help to shed a little more light on the situation for you....seems we need Dawson to return to help free up MJ again

Hi Rowsus!

Always appreciate your views and thoughts, really gives me a different look on things. So thanks a lot!

So I have to downgrade Ablett, and would like to get Fyfe and Bont, but really thinking I should get in NVB and possible Smith.

I am thinking at this point in time to downgrade Ablett to Bont, and Cripps to NVB, and then wait a week and hope Fyfe doesn't go up too much, and pick him up for Dom Sheed.

However, the look of Lumumba/Newnes/H.Taylor and Gibson as a back 4 looks shaky at best. Do you think I should try to get in Smith? Possibly for H.Taylor? or Lumumba?
If I did do this, I would probably need to downgrade Cripps to Sinclair, but I'm not sure if that is a wise move. NVB is probably a smarter option right?

With Frawley getting injured, I'm getting worried that Gibson will be moved back into lock down full back mode. Any help or any wise words would be great!

OR

Should I just do a Cripps to Bont, and Ablett to Sloane trade?

Hey Rowsus just a quickie, if NVB were to average 80 from here, what would his cash making be after a few rounds (or how long to reach 400k)? Not too sure how to calculate it myself..

Hey Rowsus. Just wanting to get your thoughts on what to do with my second trade this week. First trade will most likely be Ablett to Sloane/Lewis (can't decide yet). With the second trade I can either go:

1. McEvoy > NicNat, or
2. KK > Smith/Docherty

I have $133K in the bank pre-trades.

What line should I concentrate on correcting this week? As always, cheers in advance.

*Edit - I just read your reply to my post in the ruck scoring thread. So perhaps I look at strengthening my defence. Other option is to correct Cripps to NVB???
