I know people keep hoping and expecting Jack Steele to get games but the truth is the Giants have serious depth for midfield and flankers types. If Josh Kelly struggles to play and gets subbed with scores like 95 and 98 this year, good luck expecting Steele to get games ahead of likes of Kelly, Hoskin-Elliott etc etc. that can all seriously play and a few years older. I do not think people have really woken up to how good Giants can be, not just in coming years but even this year they are going to win quite a few games and surprise a few people. Even Tom Scully has started to play some decent footy for them. Just find it hard to see Steele getting much more than a small sample of senior footy this year. I'm sure he can make his debut this season but likely to be subbed or vested when it happens. They have a policy to look after their youth. I think it is why Josh Kelly still gets vested even on days he is getting quite a lot of the ball.
Dylan Shiel, Ward, Treloar, Greene, Griffen, Coniglio, Devon Smith, Whitfield, Scully, Hoskin-Elliott and Josh Kelly are all well ahead of Steele in pecking order. He needs a few injuries to get a decent run that can make him relevant to scoring decent himself in SC this year.
