I still don't think I will pick him up, just have a personal preference for not having him in my team...
Yes, I share that preference, to be honest. He definitely seems the perfect candidate for the "why did I let the crowd trick me into picking Thomas!?" stream of complaints in about Round 3 of next season.

Never have and never will I consider Daisy Thomas
If he shows up at $245,000 (57xMNx.8) as an M/F and has a full pre-season, you might be prepared to eat those words.

At that price it will depend on the quality of the other forward rookies for mine. If there are heaps of options then I'd probably pass on Daisy, but if the cupboard is bare I may consider him, a bit like Higgins last year who started around 250k odd to rise to 400k odd.

Perhaps the crowd will agree with you and stay away.

A player like daisy has the ability to be a good player, we've seen this in 2010/2011. I believe for him to play well he has to be enjoying his footy, has to buy in and WANT to be part of the clubs plan and ambition to get up the top again. He needs his Hunger to take the game on back As a senior player he has to take responsibility and be a LEADER for the young kids (2016 you'd think they'll blood the kids) and set the standards on the field through his own game.
If he can do that he's a lock...........:p

I tend to agree with most of these views on Thomas - priced at his regular average I don't even look at him.

I'm pretty value-oriented, though, so priced well below his potential I think I'd be tempted to take him as a forward stepping stone. So long as you know what he's there for, I think the downside is largely limited to a used trade. As Phil says, it would depend on the other forward options.

..like i said, D.Thomas could have DPP, TPP or even QPP, even if he's priced at $300,000 - still a NO from me

Wonder what Cripps could become next year... Youd think in an improving Carlton side and another full preseason he could almost be considered for a starting mid position, much like Wines this year

Eski??? Av copping a pounding, sub today....Shown nothing this year to say he has to be a lock next year if discounted. Would be hard to ignore though knowing what he's capable of.

The lazy 1-1.2 million out of the cap if you want to run the premium R1 R2 next year you'd think so far. All the guns are having a great season.
Minson and Ryder the only big names struggling. Maybe Kruezer too if you classify him a big name.
Anyone scared off looking for value in the ruck line after the likes of Leuenburger and Tbc?

Jacobs will be slightly underpriced I think, suffers more then most from his limited pre season, being the slowest bloke to ever play afl.

Goldstien Locked in for every man and his dog Id think.

Going to be a few very tempting picks next year with all of Sloane, Rockliff, Ablett, Selwood being slightly underpriced. Add in players like Watson who never really got going and a 6 premo midfield possibly very attainable from round 1.

Anyone got thoughts on new DPP players? Mundy as a d/m would be in 95% of sides Id think.
