Hawthorn Hawks re-signs Jon Ceglar through to 2017 AFL season
Hawthorn ruckman Jon Ceglar has re-signed with the Hawks through to the end of the 2017 AFL season. Ceglar agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Hawks, a just reward for his consistent season which has seen him appear in all 12 of the club's matches. He has played 29 senior matches since making his debut in 2013.

Damian Barrett spoke on Triple M this morning about the sanctions imposed by the Western Bulldogs on Tom Liberatore and the reason behind them.
"He was in a condition on the back of a couple of days of partying whereby he failed to attend certain requirements by way of club appointments," Barrett said on Triple M.
"A meeting, a recovery session, various other matters.
"The leadership group decided that they would sanction him in some ways.
"One of those ways was to remove from his itinerary an overseas trip that they had previously sanctioned as being part of his rehab from the knee reconstruction.
"He was going away with non-football friends to Europe.
"They've decided to take that trip away from him and send him to Thailand where they have told him it's a far better place for him to be while he deals with this knee reconstruction."

The Western Bulldogs have recently dealt with some behaviour by Tom Liberatore which has been unacceptable to the Club.
While the Club accepts that Tom has had some difficult issues to deal with in 2015, the recent behaviour failed to meet our standards and expectations of him.
In consultation with Tom and his advisers, the Club has had a detailed plan in place for Tom's education and rehabilitation in 2015, as well as his participation in supporting his teammates and the team. That plan has now been modified to reflect his recent behaviour.
The Club has and will continue to provide Tom with all relevant support. We have also, and will continue to, make our expectations very clear to him.
In our view, the provision of further detail about these circumstances would not be in Tom's best interests for recovery and rehabilitation. For that reason, the Club has not commented and does not propose further comment.
We hope our members and supporters understand the Club's position in this regard.

Geelong last played a game on June 21st against Melbourne.
Their next game is Jully 11th.
That is just over 20 days between games.
Not sure last time a team has waited 2 weeks between their two games.
Can only think of one other time and that was in 1990 when Essendon finished on top of ladder. In the final five the top side got the week off and meet the winner of 2nd v 3rd in the Semi Final two weeks later. What happened was Eagles and Collingwood then played a draw in Qualifying Final at Waverley Park and Eagles had to travel back to Victoria the next week for Qualifying Final replay which meant Essendon had to wait an extra week for their first final. By the time they played it they had lost match feel and never looked like finding their best form. Meanwhile Eagles had to keep travelling to Victoria so were also unlucky circumstances worked against them. All opened up for Collngwood and won their first Grand Final for 32 years when they eventually beat Essendon in the October Grand Final. Always sensed if Essendon had not had to wait 3 weeks for their first final that they may have won premiership that year. I wonder how Geelong go in their next few games. Might take them a few weeks to find their touch.

THE AFL has announced round 14 will continue in the wake of Adelaide coach Phil Walsh's death, with only Sunday's match between the Crows and Geelong to be cancelled.
The implications of the cancelled match between Adelaide and Geelong are many and varied.

What happens to Adelaide and Geelong's premiership points and positions on the ladder?
Each team will be awarded two premiership points – the same as after a drawn game - for Sunday's cancelled match. The Crows will have 30 premiership points after round 14 is completed. The Cats will have 26 premiership points. Both teams' percentage will remain unchanged.
Are the remaining seven matches in round 14 going ahead?
Yes. The fixture remains the same for every other match yet to be played.
Have any start times for matches been changed?
Yes. The following changes have been made to allow for a minute's silence before each match to honour the life of Phil Walsh.

Adelaide Oval ticket provider Ticketek will automatically refund any credit card purchases direct to customers' accounts within 7-10 days. Customers who paid cash or EFTPOS can either go to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Box Office – open Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm - at 98 Port Road, Hindmarsh, South Australia or post their tickets to PO Box 596, Hindmarsh, 5007 for refund processing. Ticketek has requested fans do not contact the call centre as all tickets will be processed in the manner listed above.
What about fans who have travelled or were planning to travel to Adelaide for the game?
The AFL is liaising with its official partners about this issue. AFL.com.au and club websites will keep members and supporters updated on arrangements.
Virgin Australia, the AFL's official airline, has released the following statement:
"We are deeply saddened by the news of Phil Walsh’s death and our thoughts are with his family, Adelaide Football Club and the AFL community. Following the cancellation of the match between Adelaide and Geelong, Virgin Australia is offering a travel credit to any guest who had planned to travel to Adelaide for the match this weekend. This can be arranged by calling our Guest Contact Centre on 13 67 89 or by contacting their travel agent."
Qantas encouraged fans with planned travel to Adelaide to contact 13 13 13 for options.
How will TV and radio coverage be affected?
The Seven Network, which was due to broadcast the cancelled Adelaide v Geelong game, will now cover Essendon v St Kilda game on delay.
Essendon v St Kilda will therefore be broadcast live nationally on the Fox Footy Channel, broadcast commencing from 1pm EST and also on delay on the Seven Network in its previously scheduled Sunday timeslots - Melbourne 3pm EST on Channel 7; Adelaide 2:30pm CST on Channel 7; Sydney 3:00pm EST on 7Mate. Regional networks will follow metro times accordingly.
Separately, Triple M, 3AW and FIVEaa radio partners that were going to broadcast the match at Adelaide Oval will now provide coverage of the match at Etihad Stadium.
What about Adelaide's SANFL team?
The scheduled South Adelaide v Adelaide game has been postponed. As it was the scheduled SANFL broadcast match for round 12, Channel Seven will now show the West Adelaide v Eagles game instead.
How will the cancelled game affect AFL Fantasy teams?
All Adelaide and Geelong players listed to play this weekend will be awarded their season points average. Any new players who have not previously scored will be awarded points in line with their breakeven score. Throughout the weekend, Geelong and Adelaide players will appear as BYE' – until the points are awarded at the end of the round, not during games as normal. Fantasy lockout will be lifted slightly later than usual on Sunday night once the round is complete.
What will happen with footy tipping?
Tipsters will be awarded one tip for the cancelled Crows-Cats clash.

The Cats will train as scheduled on Saturday as the club revises their program after Sunday's game against Adelaide was cancelled. The Cats' VFL team, due to play Casey Scorpions on Saturday afternoon, may include players returning from injury such as Jimmy Bartel who was named in the 25-man squad to play in Adelaide on Sunday. However it is unlikely Geelong will name a markedly different VFL team from the one that would have played against Casey Scorpions if the AFL game had not been cancelled. Bartel was on an extended bench that included potential first gamer Jarrad Jansen, Dawson Simpson, Billie Smedts, Jake Kolodjashnij, Jed Bews, Michael Luxford and Josh Walker. The Cats will have had a 20-day break between games when they play North Melbourne next Saturday night at Etihad Stadium but they had no hesitation in agreeing that cancelling Sunday's game was appropriate.
Will Brownlow Medal votes be awarded for round 14 games?
Yes, with the exception of the cancelled game. The umpires will award 3-2-1 votes to the best players on the ground in the eight other games for round 14.
No Brownlow votes will be awarded for the cancelled Adelaide-Geelong match. Adelaide and Geelong players will have one less match to poll, which is unprecedented, but the AFL views as the best outcome and does not consider it proper to cancel overall voting.
