AFL Fantasy just tweeted that there'll be 32 R/F next year. All based on the same Champion Data classifications.

Who of note would possibly be a R/F?

My man Martin a small chance?
Only 17 this year.
Any team that plays 2 ruckmen would be a chance. Lobbe, McEvoy, Ceglar, Naitanui, Tippett, Hickey, Longer, Witts, Grundy, Leunberger etc.

I'm probably more interested to see what Gary Ablett's price will be. Since he played 6 games following last year's general formula he should get a 10% discount however I have a feeling they will overrule that because he is Gary!
Even I overruled that in my selector because he is Gary!

Things would definitely get a lot more interesting if a few of those names become RUC/FWD, and by the sounds of it a few of them will! Can't wait.

I'd assume the cream won't. Goldy, Jacobs, Mumford, Sandilands all seem very unlikely.

I think Nic Nat a much better chance than Martin. Couldn't see Maric don the F either atm.

Kreuzer a possibility. Leuenberger almost garaunteed you'd think.

Rookie priced R/Fs would make the starting strategy a little more interesting!

Can see a few getting a gig this year with the sub rule gone!

If Leuey gets DPP he will ruin so many people's SC. He will be the primary ruckman when fit, which is never.

So why will he ruin people's SC?
People always pick Leuenburger as a "fallen premium" / "breakout contender". If he is given DPP he will become even more attractive. His durability sucks though, so I think it's a giant risk given the strong likelihood of him missing games.

Cheers, I always like to hear the reasoning. That may make me not pick him.

Is it possible with the increase of R/F's they might be scrapping R3 and giving us an F9?

lol. A good strategy could actually be to pick up Leuenburger for the opening 4-7 rounds and then upgrade him to Goldy. Leuey should go up $50-150k and Goldy should come down $50k so you could nett a tidy profit with one trade while still scoring reasonably well in the process. I haven't analysed Leuey's early fixture but I know there's a bit of a feeling that Goldy will be overpriced early. Personally I don't want to pick Goldy at his starting price, and I don't expect him to replicate his 2015 but I think you will struggle to find someone as consistent and durable.

Maybe I'll jump on the Leuenburger bandwagon!

Gonna be more expensive than Robbie Gray
At 32 you would be taking a big risk, but he is fairly reliable to get around the 100 average most years. I wouldn't touch him if he is a mid only but if he is also a forward I will at least think about it.

Year Games Average
2005 6 74.7
2006 21 84.5
2007 21 102.4
2008 22 97.2
2009 21 125.2
2010 22 114.8
2011 20 100.7
2012 22 99.2
2013 21 114.8
2014 20 89.4
2015 17 111.0
