Those set of figures makes for a very nice 'bell curve'.

Some of you may have noticed that the banner up the top is looking a little off, not to worry, it will be fixed soon enough.

Of course I do!
There are 144 players that have ever recorded a 100+ season in SC.
80 of these started their careers in or after 2005. We can only really look at those 80 players.
Here is a break up of how many seasons they played to hit their highest season average:
1 season - 1 player - 1.25% of the 80 players (Barlow)
2 seasons - 2 players - 2.50% (Macrae & Wines)
3 seasons - 7 players - 8.75%
4 seasons - 12 players - 15.00%
5 seasons - 14 players - 17.50%
6 seasons - 17 players - 21.25%
7 seasons - 12 players - 15.00%
8 seasons - 9 players - 11.25%
9 seasons - 5 players - 6.25%
10 seasons - 0 players - 0.00%
11 seasons - 1 player - 1.25% (Mundy)
So the popular numbers are 4 to 7 years, representing 68.75% of the 80 players.
I will temper this break up by saying some of them are a bit skewed.
For example, look at J Redden's averages: 65.5, 76,1, 102.9, 102.8, 98.0, 103.1, 95.5.
His peak is at year 6, and he appears at year 6 in the break up above, but it is only 0.2 above his year 3 average. I am guessing you are looking more for when players get near their peak, as an indicator as to who might be ripe for the picking. In a break up like that, he'd appear at year 3.
If you give me a variance to work with, I will rework the the table above to give a more useful outlook. I would imagine the variance to work with would be something like 4%, or even as high as 6.25%.
I should've known better, of course you have that info, lol. That's exactly the info I was after, and yes, nearing their peak info would be useful too. Not sure exactly what you mean with variance percentage, I'm still a SC noob. Any more info would be great if you have time.

PS. I'm loving your player analysis thread.

Good work bud.

What I meant was, when did they first score say within 5% of their career high. I have used 5% in the table below.
ps - I have discovered there are 81 players to work with, not 80.

It might be more useful to know when they are getting within 5% of their Peaks, rather than when they are getting to their Peaks. That way you get to ride them longer while they score well.

Someone is adding the MBRs teams for ease of reference as I briefly saw bits of it before...maybe someone will also add the team selection tool like last year so I'll stay permanently on SCS...maybe someone can give Jay a slight nudge on my behalf! ;)

Ah, I see, so 30 players (16 + 14) are within in 5% peak after playing 4 and 5 years respectively?

I think it's exponentially easier if someone has all the data which atm I don't think anyone has. It's still a bit of work I think but I'll give him a nudge anonymously and see what he says.

There's whispers of another team tool getting around so maybe we'll see something else pop up shortly ;)

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley says new recruit Jeremy Howe will play as a forward in 2016.
Howe spend large part of this season playing as a rebounding defender at Melbourne.
"He'll (Howe) play centre-forward for us. We've recruited him with that in mind."
"He's come off a hip operation but he's training pretty well. What he shows on the track is his speed, endurance repetition.
"He's understanding our running patterns and where we want him to go in different roles forward of the ball.
"He's shown some good things, but there's still plenty to go."

This stands out for me out of those names. Shows just how highly Myers is rated inside the club.

I have a request for Rowsus (or anyone), so I'll post it in Rowsus' thread for now but move it if you like.

I'm interested in some age profiling. I don't know if you will have the data, but basically of the top x players per position per season what was the age profile. If there is a correlation year on year, which players will be entering their prime this year.

We all know things like "big men take longer to develop", but for mine it would be interesting and helpful to be able to say:

Rucks are in their prime between 27 and 29
Mids are in their prime between 23 and 27

etc.

Planned. Best publicity they have had for years. Did you see Miss Australia talking about legalising marijuana? We can get rid of the AMA now!

Yeah i suppose it could've been but seemed legit to me. Has definitely got the masses talking though so a bit of a masterstroke if it was planned!

I didn't hear Miss Australia talk but did see her strutting her stuff :p

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned, but you can access the 2016 team picker on the app.
