With a new thread started for 2016 Injuries & Suspension I have transferred across some of the relevant preseason injury info :)

GEELONG PRE-SEASON TRAINING REPORT

- Mitch Clark (calf) remains in the club's rehab group but are progressing nicely from their long-term injuries. He been training solidly and the club's fitness department is pleased with how he is tracking as he continues to build up his running program.
- Rhys Stanley (foot) remains in the club's rehab group but are progressing nicely from their long-term injuries. He has been training throughout the break – looked in fine nick at St Mary's football ground, with the club confident he will be back in full training prior to the Christmas break.
- Lincoln McCarthy (foot) and Cameron Delaney (toe) are the only other players in the rehab group.
- Joel Selwood, Nakia Cockatoo and Jake Kolodjashnij were on light duties at training on Monday.
- Jackson Thurlow and Michael Luxford were impressive in the grid running the players completed at the end of training.
FREMANTLE PRE-SEASON TRAINING REPORT

- Luckless midfielder Anthony Morabito participated in the whole session today and looks in great shape after failing to play a single game at any level in 2015 due to ongoing knee soreness. He spent some time overseas during the year to rest his troublesome knee and it might have proved a masterstroke as he moved freely throughout the session.
- Michael Apeness did not make an appearance on the track but was working in the gym. He played just four WAFL matches this season season before injuring the posterior cruciate ligament in his knee in round seven. He is currently in rehab.
- Cam Sutcliffe did his running away from the main group after having off-season shoulder surgery, but looked in good shape.
- Clancee Pearce returned to training earlier than expected but was running away from the main group.
WEST COAST INJURY UPDATE
New recruit Jack Redden hopes to be back in full training before Christmas as he works towards full fitness following abductor release surgery.
Redden is in the rehab group but he is still running a few kilometres every week.
FREMANTLE INJURY UPDATE

Nat Fyfe has been eased back into pre-season training as he recovers from the broken leg he suffered in the preliminary final loss to Hawthorn.
He had surgery to repair the fractured fibula in his left leg the day after he won the Brownlow Medal.
Fyfe said he had received some positive news from the doctor last week.
"I'm in pretty good health."
"I had a doctor's scan on Tuesday and got the full tick off from him, so I'll go back into training and build towards Christmas."
Fyfe did some light running and kicking at his first session back at the club on the 1st of December, but he spent most of Monday's main training session in the gym.
Sydney forward Lance Franklin's return has been halted after being booked in for finger surgery.

Franklin has been hampered by a finger injury since returning to training after battling mental health issues.

“(The injury) is bothering him with marking and tackling work that he’s been doing this pre-season,” said the club’s head physiotherapist and rehabilitation coordinator, Matt Cameron.

“There’s a little bone spur irritating the nerve and the tendon isn’t quite working properly.

“He’ll go in for an operation this week to tidy it up. We’ve timed it so he’ll be right by January.”
SYDNEY INJURY UPDATE

- Lance Franklin will have an operation on his finger, but he will be fit to training as scheduled in January. The operations was the repair a bone spur which has hindered his ball handling so far this pre-season.

St.Kilda's Nathan Freeman has suffered another hamstring set back.
The Saints confirmed Freeman suffered a strain to his right hamstring – the same one that gave him the most trouble at Collingwood.
But the Saints say this hamstring is a "regulation strain" and, fortunately, has occurred in a different part of the muscle to the area that caused him trouble at Collingwood.

Was it Josh Smith who blamed North Melbourne for not being able to help him, went to the Saints and didn't play another game?

GOLD COAST INJURY UPDATE

- Suns coach Rodney Eade says Jaeger O'Meara and David Swallow have taken a big step forward in their recoveries from knee injury operations but neither is a certainty for round 1. Both of them have been running

“David Swallow ran on the AlterG two weeks ago for the first time, which is the treadmill and he started his running on grass last Thursday”.
“Jaeger [O’Meara] started AlterG today so he’s about a week or so behind David but he’s progressing really well. He got a really good report last week off the tendon specialist.”

- Eade says Gary Ablett (shoulder) and Dion Prestia (knee) will be available for round 1 unless anything happens along the way.

“Dion’s doing half the footy drills at the moment, he’s doing 50 per cent”.
“It’s a bit like Gary, he’s a bit behind Gary obviously but we’re just integrating him slowly and he did about 10 to 12 k today total in volume and he did about half the footy drills so we’ll gradually put him in the program which should be after Christmas where he’ll be fully in.”

BRISBANE captain Tom Rockliff has been cleared of structural damage to his shoulder after a training mishap sent a pre-Christmas scare through the Lions camp.

Rockliff hurt his shoulder during a contested training drill and was sent for scans before attending Brisbane’s AGM at the Gabba on Wednesday night.

Medical staff cleared Rockliff on Thursday but he will be restricted to lighter duties at Friday’s training session, the Lions’ last for 2015.

Rockliff stirred up an old shoulder complaint but is expected to resume full training in the new year.

Rib injuries wiped out a significant chunk of 2015 for Rockliff.

Brisbane have re-signed another member of their 2014 draft class, with Josh Clayton extending his deal at the Gabba until the end of 2017.

Clayton joins Harris Andrews and Jaden McGrath in re-signing, despite having another year to run on their current contracts.

WEST COAST INJURY UPDATE

Dom Sheed
has had minor surgery to clean out his left knee but is expected to return to full training after Christmas.
Sheed did not participate in the Eagles' final training session of the year today.
He had a compression bandage on his left knee following the clean out he had recently. He was only able to use a scooter to do some cardio/strength work with just his right leg.

Saw a post on Facebook tonight from a random, so no source or creditability to it. But they said...

"Nat Fyfe has had scans on his back which indicate he'll have a delayed start to the year"

Hopefully if there is any truth to this we hear about it sooner rather than later.

Reported 2 months out, a massive chunk of his pre season. Almost put a line through him in my starting team if true
