Yikes! Makes choosing my midfield and team a little more interesting though.

Reported 2 months out, a massive chunk of his pre season. Almost put a line through him in my starting team if true
Yep... Not going near him if he misses that big of a chunk of the pre-season.

It's good in the way you can rule him out of your own team, but bad because it narrows down the genuine guns there are and makes teams look more similar.

Seven News in Perth reported on Sunday night that the star midfielder was suffering from a bulging disk and his pre-season would be disrupted.

But the Dockers are confident Fyfe will not miss the remainder of the club's pre-season campaign and say that he is expected to be running when training resumes in early January.

It was reported that Fyfe had suffered a back injury in the last training session before the Christmas break and that scans had revealed bulging disc which would keep him sidelined for six to eight weeks, possibly ruling him out of the Dockers' first pre-season match against Richmond.

A Fremantle spokesman confirmed on Monday morning that Fyfe had suffered a back injury before Christmas and subsequently underwent treatment, but will not miss any training because of it.

"He does not require surgery and I have been advised that he will not miss six to eight weeks," the spokesman said.

MELBOURNE’S Christian Petracca will miss a portion of the pre-season after injuring his toe during the Christmas break.

Christian sustained the injury whilst playing basketball during the Christmas break period. He reported this soreness during screening on the first day back of pre-season training on Monday, with scans confirming a small crack to the fifth toe of his right foot.

Christian will spend the next four weeks off legs and will then progress his rehab to get him back to participating in full training. Christian will still be able to continue the strengthening component of his knee rehabilitation program while recovering from this injury.

Melbourne Coach Paul Roos said “Christian’s rehab up until this point has been going really well, but when you’re an AFL player, you need to understand that everything you do impacts your ability to prepare and contribute to the team and this incident is clearly an interruption. We have been very clear as a club about not putting expectations on our first year players, so its important to keep some perspective about this - It’s a harsh lesson for Christian, but one we are sure he is going to learn from as he develops as an AFL player.”

Was on the way to do some shopping this morning and notice that down at the park the Saints were training. So headed over for a look.

Notice Nathan Freeman was doing some running (400m then rest), probably did 7 or 8 of these. Then went into just some small stationary kicking with the others in the rehab group.

David Armitage did not participate in the session from what I saw. Nick Riewoldt did.

West Coast Eagles recruit Jack Redden has suffered a setback with the experienced midfielder undergoing a minor operation on his adductor.
Adam Simpson is hopeful he will be available for NAB Challenge.

Just a heads up...
Tom Rockliff was at Training Monday! He was at the back of the pack with Taylor but he did the session in full.
Other notes - T.West was on the bike.
No show Monday - Zorko

SYDNEY INJURY UPDATE

Isaac Heeney has taken a positive in his recovery from a persistent knee issue when the Swans resumed pre-season training on Monday.
Heeney took part in numerous kicking drills and will soon get back into full training.
“It’s pretty exciting – I’ve never liked just running and following that (boundary) line”.
“I’m gradually getting back into skill work and pretty excited to soon be back into full training".
“(The injury) is nothing serious, I just need to make sure I get on top of it now as it can impact careers”.

Apparently Leuenberger has had an injury flare up. Not sure what exactly at this stage but my source is a poster on Bomberblitz who overheard Worsfold talking about it at training.

Just sounds too risky for me now. No point in putting him in our forward lines to provide coverage if he's injured all the time.

I wish all the players I was avoiding due to injury would wait for the season to start before getting injured.

My first 5 trades this year were injury related, not going into this year injury prone players.
