Crouch v JOM

Most teams seem to be selecting Crouch in this equation and I presume it is because he seems to be more advanced with his recovery (although this is only a guess).
Who would you pick based on current fitness reports and then who would you pick if both were fully recovered and ready for Round 1?
Yeah I have Crouch in there because he is way more progressed than JOM. Crouch was approaching full training a week or so ago so may even be into full training now.

JOM is unlikely to play round 1 and even if he does play it will be off a very limited pre-season so he may start slowly.

If they were both fully fit, who would you prefer?

At this stage I'm putting a line through both of them...too many questions surrounding their fitness, potential and how they would fit into their respective team's early plans.

If however, they bolt out from the block, then I'll consider using my allocation of corrective trades to bring them into my team.

Neither are currently in my team. I like your approach to potentially use a corrective trade on them if required.

My feeling is they have decided running Cyril in the mids too much is too much of an injury risk and so his ceiling becomes what he scored last year. That doesn't make him a bad pick I'm just not seeing much upside there.

Greene is similarly priced are people looking at him as will of those 3 or only taking one?
Problem with Greene is his disposal is ridiculously bad... gets the ball a lot though.

That's a tough one. I think that if both fully fit they would average around about the same but Crouch probably has the edge with less competition in the midfield at the Crows than JOM has at the Suns.

Pick two off Adams, Wines, Selwood, Shiel, T. Mitchell, Neale.

Have picked my side 38 times with a different incarnation of two of the above. I guess NAB form may make the decision.

Adams - competing in a team that bats pretty deep in the midfield department
Wines - a 'contested' ball beast, I think his overall CP rate is close to 50%, has shown enough in his first 2 seasons until injury struck last year
Selwood - lingering question over his injury, renown slow starter
Shiel - may fill the void left by Treloar, but so can many others on the GWS list
TMitchell - a ball magnet who haven't really been given a decent crack to showcase all his wears
Neale - workman-like and to use one of Rowsus quote, probably 'Red Rooster' rather than 'KFC'

After all that preamble, I would take Wines and TMitchell from that list.

Wines and Selwood in my team for a while, but may move on Selwood if the injury is still an issue.

Wines without a doubt and probably Shiel from the remainder. Selwood prime upgrade target. Mitchell, Adams & Neale all solid but a bit further down the pecking order for mine.

Shiel has good firepower but his annual game count is a bit low for my liking. I would probably slot T.Mitch into his spot, although this is based on the assumption that he will have a regular place in the Swans starting 22

JPK only 30k more than T.Mitchell. No worries about place in team, injuries or anything. From that group I would only consider Wines for a breakout, or Selwood because he has a down year. The others are a high starting price for what they offer.

I'm with Jurn Stern on this, other option is a Sloane or Rocky? Otherwise if I have to choose I'd be Selwood.

Zac Merrett v Kurt Tippett for F4
Personally I would go Tippett, although he probably has the higher injury risk, I think his scoring potential is greater and he has the added bonus of providing some ruck cover if you have a R/F at R3.

I guess aside from the injury risk, my other worry is that he has never averaged 90+ and he has been playing since 2008. Also, all his big scores came against weak opposition last year in big wins and he scored poorly against tougher opposition.

I think I'm leaning towards Merrett but the ruc/fwd coverage with Tippett means he is in consideration.
