2 from Jacobs Martin Naitanui for Total points scored in the season?
Jacobs is reliable and safe, just wary about no Dangerfield and their tough opening fixtures
Martin has shown he can put up premium midfield numbers, Luey gone and a full strength Lions brigade won't harm his chances
NicNat from all report is having an uninterrupted PS and could return to his 2012 form

For potential for highest total points, I'd go with Martin and NicNat.

Jack Gunston Vs Sam Gray Vs Toby Greene

Gunston's scores are pretty consistent for a key fwd... only 2 shockers last year.

Gray absolutely went nuts in his last few games playing pure mid.

Greene, not sure if Treloar leaving gets him back into the mids.

And here I was thinking I was the only one here seriously considering Gunston...so what I'm about to say may contain some bias!

Gunston - a genuine goal kicker who has really benefited from Buddy absence, I also like how he doesn't only rely on his goals kicking to score well as he often drift down the backline when the need arise. He's one of few players I'm shortlisting for my FWD line.

I don't really like or have looked closely at your other 2 options so it would be unfair of me to comment of them...sorry.

Never thought about this kid up till now and he's giving me headaches...

Tom Mitchell v Sloane v JPK for a spot as my M3 (my other mids are Gaz, Pendles, Rocky, Wines)

All good THCLT and yeah Gunston's been on my radar for quite some time. His averages have consistently risen ever since he's started. Here's a look at his premiership years:

2013: 83
2014: 90.3
2015: 96.5

He had two low scores of 22 and 39. If you take out his 22 where he got injured early in the 1st qtr and wasn't able to do much after that, his average then jumps up to 100.1, so you could say he's slightly underpriced. And his other shocker was against the eagles but he's proved he can score well against them too, example from the GF when he got 117. Love his consistency for a key fwd.

He is essentially the only key forward I would consider, given the fact that he is mobile and plays a lot up and down the wing, even sweeps across the backline as an outlet player for the Hawks. You can also just about bank him for 2 or 3 goals a game minimum. Plus I have his number on my Hawks jumper ;) :p

Shaw v Fyfe v Goldstein v Lids

With my current side/structure I can afford to select the highest priced player from one line. Who would you choose?
Fyfe is the only one I have seriously considered, as I'm happy to miss all the others at their price. The problem with Fyfe is that he's not yet fit, and he seems to always miss games. Given he can be such a high scorer, he has the potential to look quite overpriced in a PIT sense (you're paying 124, but might miss out on 44 points x 4 games, say). For a 110 player, the missed gameswould be less costly.

The main reason I've considered Fyfe is that if you ignore his missed games I think you can make an argument that he's actually underpriced due to being not fully fit around round 15 or so. I don't know that that many others agree/have thought much about it, so he could actually be a cheap superstar POD, which is probably quite a rare combination :) You'd be backing him to (1) miss fewer games and (2) maintain his (uninjured) 2015 form though, which is obviously a big call. Brownlow winners almost always regress.

My other comment would be that you needn't feel like you need to spend your cash on one of those four just because you can. I suspect you could probably strengthen one of your other lower quality keepers (M8 or perhaps R2 types) to get closer to your ideal final side without overpaying up-front.

I was going to say that I'm not sold on this as a good measure, but I'm now thinking that in this particular case it might well be (if your R3 is a donut, eg, and you don't trade for short term stints on the sidelines). Interesting :)

Given that Stef Martin has been playing for eight years and not yet made it to his 100th game, I'd say the others.

I like Mitchell, however I think you should be comparing him to Wines for a place in your team. Sloan and JPK are a proven quantity and probably a class above (at this stage) so I think your focus should be on them. I like the fact that Sloan is at a discount, but this is tempered by the uncertainty of the impact of Dangers departure. This probably leaves JPK, but he is a bit more pricey, so it probably depends on whether you can afford the extra $25k or not.

For what it is worth Monya, I have both Tom Mitchell and Sloane in my side, no Wines. Might be a rocky road but they are both up and coming brilliant players. Am prepared to go with them.

MITCHELL VS WINES VS SHIEL
AGE: 22 21 22
GAMES: 39 62 64

Mitchell looks a good prospect and if Sydney midfielders start getting injured a potential lock?
Thoughts welcome

Great analysis Jordan. My initial thoughts:

1. Nothing between Mitchell and Shiel
2. Wines numbers look better than I would have thought.
3. Shiel's tagged numbers look awful. Not sure who he was up against but with Trelor gone he will cop more attention. This is a worry.
4. How confident are we that Mitchell won't tag?
5. I like the ceiling of Mitchell and Shiel more than Wines-more consistently high scores.
6. I'd like one of these three in my team, but still unsure which one.

^^ I think it's a bit generous to Shiel to take out his tagged games? If he's going to be an elite mid for us, he's going to get tagged, probably even more than in 2015. Looks like he's pretty easy to completely nullify too.

I can definitely afford the extra $25k and get JPK but there will be games whereby he will look disinterested and thus post lower scores. Mitchell on the other hand is like a ball magnet and just keeps going at it every game. Sloane I have always loved but a bit wary since he will most probably get the #1 tag with Danger gone.

Thought of this too but Wines is really at a nice price, too hard to ignore. Guess I will be mulling over this decision for weeks to come!

Wines might be at a nice price but is he as good as Mitchell or Sloane, in my view, no.

Just an opinion Monya.
