Interesting that Roughead has been playing with the injury for a long time and just needed to miss the occasional session to mange it.

.... and to think, it was only 12 hours ago I took Roughie out of my team, and put Gunston in!

Here is Gunston without Roughie

2015 Gunston was 22 games at 96.6
2015, Rnd 15 - 61 vs Fremantle
2015, Rnd 14 - 86 vs Collingwood

2014 Gunston was 20 games at 90.4
2014, Rnd 21 - 51 vs Fremantle
2014, Rnd 10 - 87 vs Port Adelaide.

Small sample pool, and 2 Fremantle games, but it doesn't inspire confidence. I will be looking for someone to replace Gunston now. :(

Would that have been Luke McPharlin on him?

GOLD Coast has dodged disaster on Monday morning, after key position leaders Steven May and Tom Lynch both limped off Metricon Stadium.

May was first to leave the training track with a "slight concussion" after copping a heavy knock in a marking contest during a match simulation session.

Just 10 minutes later, fellow leader Lynch (corked ankle) followed him.

Lynch won Gold Coast's best and fairest award last year.

Neither injury is considered serious, with coach Rodney Eade expecting both to be available for Thursday's main session.

May, 24, was recently added to the club's leadership group. He will skip his weights session on Monday afternoon and be assessed through the week.

The Suns have had a good run with injuries during the pre-season, with Jarrod Grant (broken wrist) the only major casualty.

David Swallow (knee) and Jaeger O'Meara (knee) are both expected to contest match simulation drills in the coming weeks and take part in the NAB Challenge.

Certainly wasn't expecting that. He should be right back into calculations now seeing as though he is just 316k.

I was just about to post something similar. The last I heard he was 50/50 for round 1 so that's a huge improvement. Right back into calculations (just as I've become comfortable with my midfield of course...)

David Swallow. I must admit I'm not across his injury history. Can someone enlighten me? He was a revelation in 2014 and started 2015 at $554,000. He's $416k this year.

I just realized as I type this that he is only available as a midfielder, which makes him pretty unattractive.

How do you cork an ankle. I thought corkie related to muscle bruising? Not much muscle on an ankle.

Heard Tom Rehn on SEN saying this afternoon that Jared Polec and Brad Crouch were both tracking well in pre season. Polec expected to be ok for NAB.

Nice. Also liking this:

"Mature-age recruit and dual Subiaco premiership forward Shane Yarran also cut an encouraging figure in his return following knee surgery late last year.

Yarran, 26, was drafted after two strong seasons in the WAFL.

His lateral movement in this morning’s session was an indication he remains on track to play some part in the club’s NAB Challenge matches, starting against Richmond at Bendigo Bank Stadium on February 19."
