Who is the other noob in the poll starting with Lynch? Thought I'd be alone there. ;)
Which Lynch?
I've got Gold Coast Lynch in the plans.
He was the youngest of 6 KPF's declared elite by champion data last year in a team that self destructed. Another preseason learning the new coaches methods and 4 gun mids returning should help him. He doesn't just rely on goals for his scoring with some nice disposal numbers and he is in the leadership group. Not a proven premium but not a hail mary pick either.

At 243k, he seems like a great stepping stone if fit, especially with the Kangaroos versing 6 of the easiest teams to score against in the first 9 rounds.
I think an 85 average in the first 9 rounds is definitely achievable. An LTI in the first few rounds is also quite achievable.
Ssshhhh :)

The Roos also tweaked their pre-season approach this year to improve their early season performances. It's as though they know :)

Wells only played the first quarter and pick up 10 disposals. The promising thing was that he was moving very freely, playing through the midfield, leading flat out to take a mark in the forward line, even doing some trickery before delivering a pin point pass to Harvey laced out. One thing's for certain, we've missed his class and poise whilst he's been out injured.

Anderson also looked to have settled well into the North's game plan, playing mostly on ball and pushing forward.

New recruits Clarke, Wagner & Mountford was given a lot of game time and played mostly through the midfield. Early days, but their gut running, pace and footy smarts were on display for all to see. Not sure whether any of the 3 will get a go early but if I was Turner, I'd be feeling a bit nervous!

Garner was the other one that stood out, tackling machine in the forward and was ferocious at every contest. I think he's every chance to start round 1, along with Wells and Anderson.

There will be another practice game this Friday which will pit the over 25's against the under 25's!

From the Fox Sports article...

Also, veteran Leigh Montagna could be released off half-back a bit more — something that was supposed to happen in 2015 but never came to fruition due to the club’s lengthy injury list.

Thanks for the link! I was considering as a potential POD premium but a backline role makes it impossible to start him at his price. He could still average 100+ but not 110 in the backs I think.

The article has an interesting reference to more Mid time for Sam Gray. Does this get anyone interested?
Seems like an uneducated guess to me with the only reasoning being he finished off last season in the guts.

Wines & Polec come back in and Monfries suspended I think would effect his role.

Yeah, seemed like a speculative comment. There was some interesting stuff in the article regarding training patterns though.

Collingwood could be very good this year if they stay fit of course.

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if anyone is considering Matthew Pavlich?
Don't take this the wrong way mate, but any chance you've been at the pub all afternoon?
Don't know how many drinks you can skull in half an hour, but I hear what you're saying...this post is completely 'out of character' from the thesis which was on display earlier in the Ruck thread!

Just demonstrating the fine line between genius and insanity - or in my case, between madness and adequacy. In ages past Pav was a Supercoach stalwart, but from your reactions, it seems like a renaissance is not on the cards. Better to look a fool and ask, than to not ask at all - or to pick him as a Super Special Secret POD. Well, you guys have convinced me. Welcome aboard, Mark Le Cras.

He started to do well when Wines dislocated his shoulder against St Kilda in round 18.

Wines injured and subbed out with 21 in round 18 and out for the season.

Sam Gray
Rd 18: 102 Vs Saints
Rd 19: 98 Vs WB
Rd 20: 84 Vs GWS
Rd 21: 121 Vs Hawks
Rd 22: 138 Vs Suns
Rd 23: 125 Vs Freo

A relatively small sample I know, but just some food for thought. As Nathan stated above with Wines & Polec coming back, how will this impact on his scoring? However he is training more in the midfield from the articles I have read, which is a positive. He's one of the few on my shortlist of F4s. I will be watching him closely through the NAB matches.

Prior to those 6 games at the end of the season he never had a game where he had 20+ disposals. He then went 20, 21, 25, 34, 37 and 34 in the disposal count in the last 6 weeks.

The negative was in the 4 games earlier in the season he played he only averaged 55.75 and none of those games were sub affected.

One to keep on the watchlist for the NAB challenge to see what his role is going to be. If he can maintain a similar level of midfield time like he had in the last 6 weeks of 2015 he could well average around the 90-100 mark.

I probably will steer clear of picking him but I can see why he is an option for coaches to consider.
