Just had great yum cha with heaps of alcohol - if you are coming to Auckland pm me and we can celebrate.
Thus emboldened can I hijack the thread for a minute and mention how disappointed I am by members who ask a question, get a response, and then cannot be arsed to thank the responder(s).
Back to you Rowsus - the floor is yours. Next question.

Some may PM or Rep a post as a way of saying thankyou, but yes I do sometimes notice over the whole website people can forget to acknowledge a response to their questions.
Just on that, an alternate quick and easy way to thank and acknowledge any responder is to like the post, by clicking on on the thumbs up button.

I will admit, there have been two or three occassions where I have put in a number of hours work on someone's question, and it disappoints me a bit, when I can't even tell if they have even read my response. It's pretty easy (usually) to tell which responses have more work in them. I would like to add, I'm not being precious either. Some of my responses are just a minute or two's typing, and I'm not fussed about responses or recognition from the person who asked the question in those cases. If you ask a question, anywhere on the site, and you get an answer you can see is considered, and had some thought and time put into it, then a response, a thumbs up or a rep is the right thing to do. Remember, a thumbs up can mean you agree with a comment, OR, that you just appreciate the thought and time put into the comment, or that it just opened your eyes to something you hadn't previously considered. It doesn't have to mean you agree with the comment.
As to the Yum cha, you're on. I'll let you know if/when I'm heading that way!
