I was at the game and it was a great win!!! stoked with how we played. Hope that we tighten up in defence tho against the hawks next week.

Question for those who watched it on TV. At the game it looked a lot like Stef Martin was not actually contesting ruck contests against NN esp centre bounces, so much so that even my wife (who knows as much about football as i know about responsible drinking) was commenting on "what the hell is that ruckman doing'. We were in the nosebleed section so was a little hard to tell. But did it appear a deliberate thing that he didn't contest some bounces against NN, and instead just tried to shark the taps like a fourth rover?

First time I have seen Stef live and maybe its just how he plays and i have never noticed before. Would that have affected his scoring tonight too and or will he bounce back?

PS i realise he got 90 odd which is not a disaster...

20/1938 with Bartel and Danger to come.

Brown on the field and some terrible scores from 'premiums' really letting me down. Happy with my side though.

Your eyes weren't deceiving you, He did purposely not contest the ruck on several occasions trying to shark NN's taps. Nic Nat looked unbelievable tonight. Love having him on our team!!

21/2292 (ablett C) Dangerfield to come
Wow! That's huge! Can I ask who your POD's are?

I'm 20/2060 (Ablett C). Dangerfield and Bartel to come. Hoping that Bartel can smash a HUGE one out for all of us who have him.
Wines wasn't up to his normal standard today, and the ol' Libba smashing Crouch's score hurt too.
Still - many wiser SC'ers have had a worse day than I (Fyfe), so I'll count my lucky stars.

Pods that i selected were Shiel 8.3, Wines 9.1%, Johannisen 10.2%,Stringer 12.5%, Yeo 13.7, Priddis 14.7%, Rich 18.4% not all went massive but i think it has had more to do with the guys i didnt pick in Fyfe, Pendles, Barlow which will change next week when they turn it around just hope my guys can back it up

I hope you're right about Pendles, Fyfe and co, Maso.

20/1958 (c) with Dangerfield and Smith to come.

Carrying Pendles, Fyfe, Rocky and Barlow. Had Brown on field down back thinking he'd go better against the Suns than Adams would against Freo too. Took Menadue's 80 and missed Kennedy's 115.

Here's hoping my premiums hit back and I get the rookies right next week. Meanwhile, if Smith can justify me not going for Goldy, then that'd be nice :)

At 1,947 with Danger and Bartel to come.

Once upon a time I had NicNat in the team, but he left for The Beard many weeks ago, so can't really sook there.

I think it comes down to the fact that you couldn't have predicted this score line when you are selecting a starting team:
- Pendles = 89
- JPK = 75
- Fyfe = 61
- Rocky = 89
- Barlow = 61

I have to think of it this way - they all have good histories, round 1 scores only stay in the price for one change... Does it make me feel better? NO

i am exact the same score as you PC. 1947 with bartel and danger to come.

same issues except for JPK. i had fyfe as my other issue. i hope they can bounce back next week but really happy with my rookies. i dont think we can complain about the bombers rookies. i think we all knew they wouldnt score huge but its good to have security in your team.

Yep, happy with my rookies as well Adrenaline (which is what week one is about, right?) - only have AMT and Brown from the Bombers but think they should go ok.

20 / 1965. Danger and Bartel to play.

Got off to a solid start then the wheels fell off yesterday. A few pods worked well and a few crashed and burnt.
No need for rage trades at this stage, have to back your research in. Will have to monitor Mitch Robbo with calf soreness.

Thrilled for Maso and WO FAT who seem to be in the battle the clubhouse leader and a sneaky congrats to BB. Well done.

20/2026 with Bartel and Selwood to come. Had some below par scores, but they were from well priced players so I'm not bothered. Rookies all looking good. Adams looked good yesterday. Looks like my first upgrade will be to turn D8 in to someone not donning the sash. Go Hawks!

20 / 2007 + C with Dangerfield and Zac Smith to come.

Times like this you can't help lament poor decisions.... I had Liberatore in every pre-season iteration of my team, and didn't have Crouch once. Come round 1 they've suddenly switched. Fyfe was a shock, but a 150 next week will steady that ship

2101 + Dangerfield to come. Dodged a few bullets but copped a few as well. Had so many rookies not named Thursday that I had to turn my team upside down. my backline was thrown together in such a hurry Thomas Bugg has started for me with a sub 50 score.

2000 with Bartel, Selwood & Danger to come.

After sleeping on it, I may have been quick to dig the boots into Barlow. Freo lost Clarke first bounce of the day and were basically feeding off scraps all match. In saying this, nothing they did seemed to stop the slaughter.

Barlow's heat map is interesting as well. He got very few kicks from centre bounces and had to accumulate them around the ground. This is a concern because his footskills aren't the greatest. I'm not writing him off as Freo should have Sandi back next week, but he's on notice.

Also, I think the quicker we shed rookie Dons from our on field defence the better. Brown just looks very 'lock down', whereas Dea didn't find the pill like I thought he would. Will be interesting to see how Hartley goes when he gets a game.
