If I were to fix Smith as expected, it has to be next week, before his value drops any further.
The only player that I probably can afford next week is McVeigh. Is that worth a trade?
I could also do Libba to Parker to generate extra cash and maybe get someone higher like Pittard.
So I guess the question really is:

* Brodie Smith > McVeigh and Libba > Parker, worth 2 trades to potentially fix up my D6 and M8?
I'd say the first one is worth it, the second one may not be.

Hi Rowsus,

Was wondering if you could please help me with new prices and new break-evens of a few players for me?
Adam Treloar, Samuel Collins & Darcy Tucker. Thanks in advance.

This requires a $102, 400 player on any line, but preferably defence, to play next week in order to pull off, but with 12 trades left, I can go Tucker, MacPherson and Collins out, Phillips, Aforementioned Rookie, Hannebery in with $300 to spare.

If a $102, 400 player is picked, surely trading Collins to Hannebery to avoid a doughnut is better than eating the doughnut.

My team, as it stands, has 12 trades and $141, 300 banked.

D: Shaw, Bartel, Rance, McVeigh, Howe, Yeo, (Collins, Tucker)

M: Dangerfield, Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Rockliff, Priddis, Liberatore, Hall (Trengove, Joyce, MacPherson)

R: Goldstein, Martin, (Wyatt)

F: Zorko, Martin, Deledio, Barlow, Wells, Kerridge, (Cox, Uebergang)

Collins' score has effectively saved me a trade; perhaps two; and I'll be able to keep Cox until Lycett is ripe for the picking. But the Collins to Hannebery proposal has been met with some resistance in SC circles - if it saves me a from a doughnut, and is a massive improvement to my side, why shouldn't I do it?

Unless Richmond place Yarran on the Long Term Injury list, and promote, then play, Marcon or Chol, I can't see any of the 24 players listed at $102,400 getting a game this week.

Hopefully I get really lucky and Wyatt gets a game and I can keep Collins.

Hi Rowsus, thanks for the help over the course of the season. Much appreciated.

I made a mistake a few weeks ago, I traded in Rose who really doesn't fit into my ideal team structure for the remaining weeks (although I think he'll score ok). Do I just live with that mistake, or correct him to a D/M rookie such as Jesse Joyce which brings much better flexibility into my team (i.e. allowing me to use Hall as cover)?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rowan,
I plan on upgrading Adams to either Simpson or Rance this week to complete my team leaving 5 trades. My question is Simpson leaves 3K whereas Rance leaves 50k in the bank. The better option appears to be something in the bank for the inevitable. What do you think.

I'm not Rowsus, but I'd go Simpson. More consistent, more reliable. I brought in Rance this week as my F6, and I'm already wondering what I was thinking.

Yeah I'm probably thinking the same as I couldn't put Rance as my F6 no matter how I tried haha!

Hi jaca, happy to have helped.
Sometimes in our eagerness to fix one problem, we just create another.
I think both Rose and Joyce have dodgy JS, so I would be looking at any useable points from either as a bonus. To my mind, that would mean your expectation on Joyce, is he becomes a FD. That being the case, I would suggest 2 courses of action.
1) Hold off making the trade, until you need the services of that FD, if you ever do.
2) Don't use Joyce, as there are cheaper options with better draws for a FD.
When the time comes, I'd be looking at Josh Clayton from Brisbane, though he might have the added danger from a FD point of view, of soon getting named for a game! He was in the best players in Brisbanes reserves last week, has been on their list for 3 years without debuting, so you'd think he'd get a game soon, or pack his bags.
Clayton D/M $123,900 - Brisbanes Draw from round 16: 4, 9, 7, 6, 6, 2, 8 - Ave 6.0
Joyce D/M $122,100 - Gold Coasts Draw from round 16: 4, 5, 3, 7, 4, 7, 5 - Ave 5.0 B/E -4
Ok...... I wrote before I checked. Joyce is still a smidge cheaper than Clayton, but Clayton has the better Draw.
I still think the best option is to wait to do it, until you need it. By then Clayton will probably be cheaper.

Agree Simpson is the better option, but my question really is, 3k leaves nothing or Rance, (perhaps Pittard) leaving 58k to manoeuvre with.

I reckon Simpson is 10ppg better than Rance...I'd take that (if you agree) and gamble that you can sideways an injured player later with your 3k. Don't forget, there are still a lot of cheap premiums around, or coming back: Johannisen, Rance, Dahlhaus, Parker, R Gray, Priddis, Franklin...all lines covered.

Makes sense to me, will only do one trade this week, probably helps me later on too! Thanks.

Hey Row,

I'm tempted to trade out Danger this week and am considering Hannebery as his replacement, netting close to 200k. My question for you is: Do you see the merit in this idea, and is there anything that would suggest for me to stay away from Hanners? I currently have 9 trades remaining, and need to make at least 1 to avoid a donut this week. 72k in the bank as it stands. The cash from Danger added to my own would give me 250k to spend elsewhere, taking me one step closer to completion.

My team:

Def: Shaw, Rance, Williams, McVeigh, Laird, DBJ (Collins, Brand)
Mids: Danger, Pendles, Selwood, GAJ, JPK, Ward, Gray, Kerridge (Davis, Trengove, Mathieson)
Ruck: Goldy, Gawn (Goetz)
Fwd: Zorko, Montagna, Greene, Barlow, Westhoff, Hall (Rose, Menadue)

*Underlined 13 definitely won't be playing this week, leaving me with 17.

My planned trades:
Danger --> Hannebery (182k+73k bank = 255k)
Davis --> Phillips (187k+255k bank = 442k)
DBJ/Brand --> Prem defender OR Finish mids

My only concern with finishing my mid is that Danger won't be part of it

What do you suggest?

Rowsus, my team is as follows with the bolded players playing Rd 15.

D: Shaw, Simpson, Bartel, Rich, Rance, Laird (Ruggles, Collins)
M: Danger, Pendles, GAJ, Libba, Priddis, Gray, Kerridge, Trengove, (Selwood, Jansen, MacPherson)
R: Gawn, Goldy (Loersch)
F: Dusty, Zerrett, Wells, Hall, Petracca, Menadue (Barlow, Papley)

I have 14 trades left with 185k in the bank. I'm currently experiencing some paralysis analysis with the following options.

Before trades this week I have 16 playing.

Option A - 3 trades made for 18 playing

Libba to Montagna via Petracca
Papley to Phillips
Ruggles to Mcveigh

This will leave me with approximately 236k allowing me to upgrade Kerridge to Hanners/Neale in Round 16.

Option B - 2 trades for 17 playing

Papley to Phillips
Libba to Monty via Petracca.

Option A leaves me with 374K allowing both Petracca/Kerridge to be upgraded to Neale/Hanners in Round 16 finishing off my midfield. Option B will allow Ruggles to keep mooing and the aim is to upgrade him to Docherty hopefully in time. Is McVeigh going to be a good defender option from this point on? If so, I can trade him in and trade Rich to Docherty and use Mcveigh as cover (he is at his cheapest this week I think).

Thoughts?
