Ruckman Daniel Currie was in line for a recall but suffered a fracture in his hand in his first game back in the NEAFL after six weeks out with a broken finger.

Has this guy got the most fragile hands on earth?
My god... Poor guy...

Any hope Waitey does a Lazurus and plays this weekend ?

Need him for my Pirates grand final team as a key forward.
Peter Wright and Joe Daniher is a bit young as my two key forwards.
Rather not play Daniher if I can avoid it.
Had Nathan Vardy and Mitch Clark as plan C if I needed it but doubt they are any chance so all down to Waitey.

From the Eagles Injury Report...

Wellingham, Lycett face fitness tests ahead of Hawks showdown

Key West Coast Eagles players Sharrod Wellingham and Scott Lycett will need to prove their fitness during the week before they can be selected to play against Hawthorn in Friday night’s blockbuster at Domain Stadium.

Wellingham picked up a knee problem in the stunning victory over Greater Western Sydney on Saturday, while Lycett received a deep cork to his thigh.

They are the only concerns for the Eagles as they prepare for the penultimate round of the season and take aim at an opportunity to elevate themselves up the premiership table.

That's probably why Lycett only had 54% game time... Doesn't excuse a pathetic performance though, lol

At the moment saving my trades til the last 2 rounds is starting to look stupid.
I have 4 still and have been waiting for everyone else's premos to go down with the sniffles so I can romp home but they've been pretty well lately. Must be taking their vitamin C.

Wells is named, was there talk he wouldn't be or may not line up ??
I believe he was in for scans this week. He's been named, but who knows. Seems like every week he's under some kind of cloud. At least they play early so you have time to make moves if need be.

Also Roos play in Hobart on Saturday meaning they fly down there Friday arvo some time, hence if he is on the plane then there is probably a reasonable chance he will play.

Torn anterior cruciate ligament for Naitanui

The West Coast Eagles can confirm that scans today have revealed that star ruckman Nic Naitanui ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the third quarter of last night’s victory over Hawthorn.

He will require a knee reconstruction and the club and Nic will next week discuss the best path forward with surgeons. The club will make no further comment on this matter.

Absolutely shattered for the bloke... What a massive blow to the Eagles and football in general. The one player we couldn't afford to lose and we lose him for a year...

Ceglar also confirmed same injury, and within 5 min of each other

Eade said in the post match presser "Tom Lynch is carrying a little bit (a leg injury) at the moment."

Buddy fine for next round!

While star forward Lance Franklin was forced from the field twice in the first term following a heavy collision in a marking contest, Longmire eased any concerns about 'Buddy's' likelihood of facing the Tigers next week.
"He had a hip pointer from the first quarter. He'll ice up and he’ll be ok," he said.
"He was sore there for a bit of the game, clearly, that's why he ended up coming off twice, he was sore.
"I thought in the last quarter he contributed pretty well, there was some important footy he was able to win high up the ground."

Rory Sloane 2 down to 1. Seems harsh to me

What a ridiculous decision. Seeing the video his intent was to clearly spoil.
This creates a major headache for sloane and the crows. Risk of missing week 1 of finals vs brownlow contention.

Noooooo. I have no mid coverage!

Bartel to Pittard such a waste of my last trade now when I had Yeo on my bench to cover Bartel on the weekend.

Wow. What a feckin crock. Just a complete raffle these days, or if you're more cynical - as I am - completely selective.
