I recall collingwood vs gold coast 2012, Pendlebury was my captain, had 19 possessions(10contested) 1 goal 72% DE or something by half time before being subbed. I had the subscription back then, and it showed that he scored 65, but he got scaled to 95, which is a good thing for me... But to be fair, the scaling was wayyyyy too much. Maybe the score allocater had pendlebury as his captain as well?
Nope... page 2 of Prospectus mentions that exact match and explains it

a good example of this in Round 10 last season when Scott Pendlebury was substituted half time with a knee injury against Gold Coast
they go on to explain he was on 76 ranking points at half time and took no further part in the match. Due to Colllingwood leading at half time by 45 points and winning by 97 points they write "proving the closest and most important part of the game was the first quarter"... once the game was over the first
half was re-scaled to reflect the blow out. 2010 of the possible 3300 ranking points allocated in the first half rather than 1650 split between each halves.
"Pendlebury did all his work when the game was close".... He was given 4.7% of the available points in first half , which before scaling was apparently76 ranking points and after match scaling 94 points. (his game was re-valued post match by 0.1%)

.****.. not much for Viney tonight i bet... scaling will probably mean players that scored better in first quarter and a bit will be weighted more towards points allocated

Before scaling, Ess have 16 players over 80 points, Melb 4!
The obvious question is, how did Melb get 4?!

Melbourne 1 goal 1 point after half time!
Ess 18 of the last 19 goals!

Which WCE players can we bring in next week. Guaranteed 100+! :(
I was tempted tonight to trade Maccaffer out, then swap Rowe to forward line and trade Callum Sinclair in as another rookie RUC/FWD from West Coast before tomorrow's games. Did not do it but did cross my mind as sounds like Lycett is not up to it for Eagles and with Quenton Lynch no longer an Eagle and Nick Nat on sidelines you never know Sinclair get a run for Eagles for a bit and gives me some extra options. I need to trade Toumpas and Karnezis next week which leaves me stuck with needing to keep faith in Watts up forward for now :-(

As for Essendon v Dees game this should be a great game to study the scaling.

The game was a blowout so you would think the 2nd half they reduce in weighting for the match. So the Demon players that had some impact at all in 1st half of rankings points are the ones to get a half decent score. I got Frawley, Howe, Garland, Grimes and Nathan Jones as only ones that were ranked on 80 points or more at end of match.

Frawley scores went 35, 63 and 90 at each quarter breaks
Howe 38, 67 & 94
Garland 24, 54 & 71
Grimes 30, 52 & 63
N Jones 8, 28 & 64

Interesting Zaharakis was subbed at 3/4 time and was on 95 at the time. He ended up after scaling after match of 103 :)

Watts got subbed when on 49.. He ended up on 53...

Tells me the earlier parts of match before complete blowout and junk time city got in vogue was, when they scaled it to be worth more than originally done quarter by quarter.

I'll have to re-visit this more when I got a bit more time next week but very interesting how it works.

I sense you could come up with some interesting stats around all this Rowsus :)

18/1958 captain played. i have hartlett , karnezis , viney and jones under 80

waters, cox , robinson and dwyer to come
Very nice maso, might be the club house leader. Considering that includes Hartlett and karnezis you must have got a few monsters in there.

Too many vagaries for my liking. It seems there is a human element to the weighting of important acts. Some seem to gather 15 - 20 points, some gather even more. Zorko for one, last year, seemed to get an extraordinary amount of points for a late goal that sealed the game, when he scored his 165. Some late sealers seem to attract 15 or 20 points, Zorko's seemed to attract about 40! Very hard to do a statistical analysis on things that have a human scaling factor. At least in the Brownlow this human factor is restricted to 3, 2, 1. In SC there seems to be no such limit.

Well Done mate, I think it should be a very solid score.

Some of the major scorers last week had Hartlett and Wines.

Why is Pav going? 2 x 95+.
Thanks Jay.

Pav is going because I don't think he can continue his form from last Year. Also the Price Drop is gonna scare me as well. If I bring in Rockliff, then I save a bit of $$. ;)

Do you think I should keep Pav for a few more Rounds?

Well done Damoz.

You should get a damn good score this week with all those guys left. 2500 is not out of the question with a gun score from captain
Thanks Oz. ;)

Yeah, it could be a Score like that, but each of their opponents are fairly hard. So I'm not expecting very high Scores. eg Swan v Carlton is hard, as is Gibbs v Collingwood. My Captain has already played. :( Gazza. Sorry, probably should have said that in my Post.

If the 5 Premiums all get over 120, then I'll be happy.

The only problem today, is that I have work at 2.30 which means I'm not likely to see the Final Teams for West Coast and Hawthorn. However, don't think that my Players are affected, but you never know. :p

Wow, what a turnaround from last week. Currently sitting on 1508/18 without my captain, partly thanks to missing the rolling lockout because I didn't get a chance to move Crouch off the bench or Karnezis onto it. Zac Smith and Watts will be going after this round.

Definitely on my radar now but if he continues his form will be out of reach price wise. Those who started with him would be laughing.

Watts is definitely going from my team before his price plummets. There seem to be a limited number of premium forwards this year so I can't really find a good option. If Stevie J wasn't injured he would be the best option, but now I think I may look at a mid-pricer. I was thinking maybe Monfries would be the best replacement for him.

I have Ryder and thinking Monfries as well. Not sure why but something feels wrong about downgrading rather than sideways trading... 200k is a nice bit of money to generate though.

Pav has been underdone and rusty, yet still has scored. He didnt touch it for 30min yesterday, and butchered 3 shots. Youd be mad to turf him IMO.

Mhmmm....okay. I'll see how I go. Rockliff is very cheap for the Scores he is putting out, which is why I was going to do that Trade, and save a bit of $$. Might give Pav another couple of Rounds before deciding. :)

So Harper has to get more than 3 possessions today for sure hey? Have been contemplating trading him all week but all the potential trades in all seem to have their own risks and look like mainly as a sideways trade.

Options include Walker, Smedts, JJK, Garlett, Poupolo, Motlop, Goldsack, Stokes, Hams.

Or hold fire for one more week and let either Harper or Macaffer on the field this week. Will probably wait to see who the subs are.

1759 from 16 players, captain was Ablett :(
I have Blicavs, Dwyer or Maccaffer, Cox, Shuey, Swan and Gibbs. Hoping for 2300+, could of been closer to 2400 if I chose Watson as captain but still looking at a solid score I hope

Yeah, the extra money would be good to use elsewhere. But I just think that there are no other viable options around Watts' price. Monfries seems as though he can only improve on his price.

Harper is beeter than that.

Do you actually like any of those options? Maybe JJK.
