I totally blanked on that part and have been quietly concerned I would be fielding a donut this week. This gives me some degree of confidence North will be fielding a full squad!

Edit: Yes, I went to get coffee and 3 minutes later I have been slapped down by 3 separate people haha.

Haha all good mate. If it makes you feel any better, I was a week behind this morning and for some unknown reason thought the Hawks were playing the Eagles (again) this week!

Good little summary of the MRP lotto

https://www.bigfooty.com/news/2016/08/the-sloane-suspension-vs-mitchell-lewis-harvey-in-gifs/

Message is clear. Let's punish the guy actually trying to go for the ball, but don't worry about hits to the face off the ball.
As others have pointed out above it's annoying that punching people to the head has been let go so often, but forgetting the lack of consistency with the worse incidents for a moment I think it is a reasonable call for Sloane to get a week given the risk involved in the spoil attempt and the high contact made.

I have trades to cover him but the timing is obviously tough for those without trades and/or decent cover like Menegola/Wills or a floating premium F7/M9.

Sounds like the MRP looked for reason to get him off but based on the medical report which showed Ebert suffered effects incl vision issues and was off for a significant time, they had no choice but to grade it medium.

If Sloane wanted to contest it, it would have been he was committed to spoiling and Ebert made some motion when Sloane was mid air which meant he couldn't change his actions. Don't think this would have been successful. I have sloane and will now field petracca or dunkley.

On Hawks incident, I thought this could have got a week given it was a deliberate punch and its meaningless that his first bounced off Lycett shoulder. However as Lycett didn't go off (I think) they deemed it below the level of force to warrant action. Personally think this was a bad decision as a closed fist has the risk of breaking a jaw and should have been hit with one week.

It looks like Jack’s back, but Buddy may play it safe. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-08-25/swans-may-play-safe-with-buddy-for-tigers-clash …
Buddy just following his long history of missing games, and averaging less late in the season. People that have him must have been aware of this when they took him. Doesn't ease their disappointment though.

One of the reasons I didn't select him to begin with and never thought about trading him in.

Your preseason advice stuck with me throughout the season! Either start him or forget him as he usually misses games late! Spot on again Rowsus!

FREMANTLE NEWS

Harley Bennell has suffered a minor strain to the calf in his left leg.
It is the opposite leg to which he has previously had calf problems with. The club is confident that after treatment he should be available for selection in round one of the 2017 season.
As part of Bennell’s treatment the club would continue to consult national and international soft tissue experts, including travelling to Munich to see Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfarht next month.
Dr Muller-Wohlfarht has previously treated Collingwood’s Ben Reid and Geelong’s Max Rooke for soft tissue injuries.

Meanwhile Lachie Neale had a minor procedure on his right knee and will resume full training in early January.
