Time I said hello

Andrew here from Adelaide, 50 single, never married, no children (that I know of) :)

grew up in Broken Hill before deciding in 2011 I needed a life/career change and moved to Sydney (that did not work out)

remember sitting in the pub in 2012/2013 trying to explain to people how the Giants would come good, just give them 4-5 years together.

moved to Adelaide the day after the 2013 Grand Final.

mad keen Collingwood supporter but have never seen them win a flag live was in London for 1990 and India for the 2010 replay.

until they employ a skills coach and teach players how to kick I can't seem them winning one in the future at all...........................in fact the general kicking skills (apart from the Hawks) is deplorabale and am old enough to remember one one ones and contested marks (thank god for Footy Flashbacks), the modern game is more like circle work these days.

love my Test cricket (sadly until the ICC (India) encourages a level field between the 10 current teams and get each team to play each other home away the game will slowly die) , more and more players will play T20 and more and more leagues will spring up.

love football(soccer) was lucky enough to go to Germany in 2006, watch the Wallabies and looking forward to the Olympics, just hoping this time 7 realise their are other countries and competitors as well and not just show 20 replays of Aussie's winning bronze medals or making finals.

remember reading Jay's comments on Too Serious then followed him here, must say this site is 1 billion times better than the others, love how everyone else respects each other opinions and gives advice.........................great work by all..........................................one day I hope to get good enough to be a regular in the Top 1,000 and dream of Ultimate Glory.

Also hope to get to one of the drinks one time in Melbourne and say hello.

always have worked in admin/finance and my current contract is up at the end of this year so could be on the move again

anyway hi again and good luck to all

Hello fellow Supercoachers
How are you all. My name is Krak. I have been following this great website for the last couple of years. It is a great site and I love the banter that plays out week in week out during the AFL season. I have a computer related access problem. Probably not the forum to ask but can someone help with my problem please. I am running windows 10 on a HP laptop. Just lately when I try to access the supercoach website I am presented with the following:
This site can’t be reached
saml’s server DNS address could not be found.
Search Google for saml
ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

Does anyone know what I have to change in my settings to access the supercoach website?
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Krak

Hey Guys

New to the site...name is Lee and I'm from Perth. Originally from the UK and a big soccer fan but "footy" is growing on me fast. My partner is a huge West Coast fan so naturally I have been following them for the last few years. This is my second year at SuperCoach, loved my fantasy footy but I find AFL much more suited to the fantasy setup. Slowly getting used to it and hopefully getting involved in this thread will broaden my experience....

Hi All

My name is Owen, originally from Hobart and I had been living in Melbourne for the last 8 years but have just moved (for the second time) to the UK mid season. Been playing SC for the past few years and have found the discussion on this site extremely helpful along the way. Being in a different timezone has added an extra complexity to the game.

Work in IT and a PM/BA which I'm sure has caused eyes to glaze over. A father of 3 kids aged 10, 9 and 7 (2 boys and a girl). When those 2 things are not occupying my time I'll usually be enjoying a drink with mates or exercising so I can enjoy a drink with mates

Will watch most sports but follow more closely AFL, EPL and the Cricket.

Hi Chaps,

My name is Chris, I'm originally from London but have been lucky enough to have been living in Australia for the past fifteen years. I have moved around a fair bit with work, as I'm a high school teacher, but have been in the Adelaide Hills for the past 5 years. I have been married for 14 years and have a daughter who is ten and a son who is nine.

I am a die hard Chelsea fan in the EPL as they were my local team growing up and only really got into footy after some of my mates talked me into playing Supercoach. I was, and still am but to a lesser extent, crap at it, but I am glad I got into it as I soon discovered the need to actually watch the players I was picking and, as a result, really started to appreciate the game and enjoy watching it. I go to a few Port games a year with mates as they are all Port fans and while I like Port, I can't call myself a supporter, for the reasons that I just don't get distraught when they lose and would rather a player on my Supercoach team do well and Port lose, than vice-versa. I feel quite the opposite about Fantasy EPL and Chelsea. I also don't hate the Crows.

I play guitar in a band with my mates that is just about having a laugh and getting together rather than trying to 'make it' and have a rather strong thirst for alcohol, particularly imported lagers and tequila based cocktails.

I know I spend way too much time on Supercoach and periodically get into trouble for this with my wife. I constantly wonder why despite so much time and research I never really seem to get that much better at it, I also marvel at what I could have learned had I used all that time on a different pursuit. The fact that I haven't given up on such a seemingly fruitless, time-consuming endeavor that so often forces me to ask existential questions of myself shows how addictive Supercoach is and that being good at something isn't the be all and end all.

Being quite quiet by nature and having a job where I speak and interact all day, I'm not a big poster but I do really appreciate all the help I've been given on this site for the past two years, which I have no doubt is the reason for my steady improvement in Supercoach rank over that time.

Cheers.

Cheers for sharing mate.

Be sure to join our EPL Fantasy League, plenty of fun and banter goes on to keep the competitive fantasy juices going ver the break :)

Hi All!

Joined this forum earlier this season - I only signed up so I could view a specific thread that I found on a google search but the advice and banter kept me browsing.

This is my second SuperCoach year, the first was 2013 when I thought you had 2 trades a round, each round, for the whole season... needless to say I ran out around the byes and gave up.

And I thought I was doing so well...

I live in Sydney but I'm originally from Victoria and brought with me the family curse of a Saints supporter. I played AFL for a long time and first tried Supercoach when I was forced to admit to myself I was never going to be drafted (granted I was 23 at the time and had never even made a local rep side).

Now as a 25 year old student I pass my time living vicariously through my favourite players each week and having a few too many drinks in the hope of forgetting the fact that most of them are younger than me...

Seems to be a great community here, hope I can contribute!

G'day all,
I stumbled on this form while looking for information on rookie / midpricer appreciation via a link on roar, from memory.
There is some really good discussion and analysis here, the illustrative scenarios are a highlight.
In terms of me, I'm an Aussie currently living and working in Switzerland (Germany prior to that). Only started playing SC three years ago and am fair to middling at best. I'll try to be more of an active participant moving forward.
