At least we can go to places like this to try and forget who the new leader of the world is.

Apologies to Donald if posts on this forum...
Apparently the Canadian immigration website crashed today, presumably because of all the yanks wanting to get out ASAP. Says a lot really :p

The first and probably only time I have ever bet on USA politics. Backed the winner!!

PS Don't tell my wife, she would be horrified! It was her comment that surely America wouldn't be so stupid to elect him that gave me the thought to bet on him.

I was very close to putting far too much money on Clinton on Monday. Overnight 22-25% return, easy money.

Glad I doubted the judgement of the people and back out.

I did not know about the odds at all.
I told my boss off for not telling me.
He put $500 on Trump at 5 to 1.
If I knew that I would have had something on it, not $500 but maybe a lazy $50.
He should have told me about it a day before.

"surely America wouldn't be so stupid to elect him"
That would have prompted me to bet on odds better than 3 to 1.
They are a crazy country. Of course they could be that stupid.
If they can have George Bush as President for so long , the idea of the voting in Trump was not totally out of question.

I tried to picture myself going to a polling booth and have to vote for either Hilary or Trump. Rattles the mind.
How does a country with over 300 million people get in those circumstances to have such horrible choice to be made ?
Unlike here, voting is not compulsory, so thankfully I would not have to shoot myself with such a choice if I was one of them.

Just my opinion, but I reckon the AFL has done pretty poorly the last 24 hours.
I will openly admit, I'm not a big fan of the AFL admin at the best of times.

Poor decision to award Cotchin and Mitchell Brownlows. The players themselves won't "wear" them with the same pride as other winners, and it just perpetuates the "taint" attached to that years medal. Best just to leave the year asterisked*.

How on Earth does Whitfield get a back dated 6 months, which equates to a 8 match ban, while Allen and Lambert get 12 months???!!!

Conclusion - helping someone avoid a drug test, is twice as bad as actually doing drugs!!!

Once again, a poor and mixed message on drugs from the AFL! Yes, a message needed to be sent to the Allens/Lamberts of this world, but they watered down the message they sent to the Whitfields of this world. 12 months all around, see the 3 of you in November next year would have been a much better message!

I "" the word taint. Let's not reopen discussion and wounds on innocence and guilt again. It is the speculation that has "tainted" that years medal!

Agree with both these comments Rowsus, Did the NRL give the premierships to any of the runners up? No they are asterisked* so should the brow low be

And as far as Whitfield and the drug detection avoidance they all should of got more in my opinion,
going through all this with my sister atm and i tell you you can't get anything worse than whats going on there, drugs eventually will equal short or poor quality of life.

The Herald Sun reports that every AFL rookie could be eligible to play from Round 1 under a move that would provide a massive boost to around 100 players next year.
The league and AFL player union are working on a proposal that seems likely to be ratified as part of the collective bargaining agreement.

More potential Cash Cows! You beauty!

Seriously though, they should just scrap the Rookie Category A list and make it a list of 44, half the rookies are now old blokes! Then add the Category B rookies as the sole rookie list.

While you see more Cash Cows, I just see a very watered down JS for our Cash Cows! :(

Yarran released by Tigers after ongoing mental health issues

CHRIS Yarran has been released from his contract with Richmond immediately and will return to Western Australia to deal with ongoing mental health issues.

The Tigers released a statement on Tuesday afternoon, saying Yarran had failed to meet the demands of AFL football given his personal issues, which have prevented him from playing a game since joining the club.

One day after returning to training with the main group at Punt Road Oval, Yarran said he was "deeply disappointed" he couldn't repay the club after crossing from Carlton at the end of 2015.

Football manager Neil Balme said it was in Yarran's best interests to focus on his health without the added demands of a rigorous AFL program.

"Chris has found it difficult to meet the demands of AFL football given his personal issues," Balme said.

"Ultimately it was agreed with Chris, and his management, that stepping away from the game is in the best interest of his long-term health and wellbeing."

Yarran, who had two seasons to run on his contract, will now return to his home state.

The defender, who played 119 games with Carlton, said he appreciated the support of Richmond over the past 12 months.

"I am extremely grateful for the support Richmond has given me over the past year," he said.

"I am deeply disappointed my ongoing health issues have not allowed me to repay the club and its supporters."

This is sad. I can't help thinking he has been overcoached and now doesn't enjoy it. He is a highly skilled forward pocket. He is not a dour defender. Buckley tried to do it to Fasolo as well. I hope he plays again because he was so much fun to watch when he was up and going.

The International Rules Series will return next year, with Australia to host Ireland in a two-Test series in November.

The series will be played over the weekends of November 11 and 18, with the AFL again committing to field a team made up entirely of All Australian players.

The Leagues have agreed in principle to play a two-Test series in Ireland in 2019.

Hey guys, just wondering when people are expecting gold super coach access? Before Christmas? Had a bit of a search and couldn't see what the open date was last year?

I think the pre-season Planner usually opens in the week prior to X-mas. Hopefully will be the same again this year.
