I'm excited about this week's trades, will be going one up and one down. With the cash I deposited in the bank last week I can afford to bring anyone in. So The Bont seems like the obvious choice, I want to bring him in at some point, I don't have too many others from his bye round so that suits. Of course I can afford Sloane, but he seems over priced now and I have too many premiums from his bye. I could look for someone of more value, but thinking I should keep the game simple and bring in a player who I think can consistently go large, so Marcus it should be.

McCluggage out, sub Adams to Mids and bring in McNiece.

Butler out, sub nank to Fwd and bring in Mumford.

Greene and Nank move to bench and rookies cover.

Means I miss out on Black, Parsons and EVW but can't catch all the Pokemon!
I think a lot of teams are facing the same decision.

Double downgrade and cop a donut
or trade in a premo Ruck, shift Nank to the forward line and miss out on a double downgrade.

FWIW unless your existing rookies are terrible it seems a pretty reasonable strategy to me as long as you don't pick the 4th best out of 4 rookies as your downgrade.

Hahaha knowing my luck I'll choose the worst of the 4 players.
Round 6 I fielded McCluggage for a solid 19 and Fisher for a whopping 35 while SPP kicked back on the bench with a 97 and Balic with a 78!
😂😂😂
Hopefully we make the right decisions this week and maybe, just maybe Parsons will be named for round 8 instead of 7 :)

Quick question: Is Mumford the best choice of ruckman for now? He's $598k. Grundy is around $513k and Martin $557k... Goldy is cheap but hasn't really set the world on fire and is injury prone and Gawn is Gawn for now too!?

JOM and Parfitt are the obvious outs for me this week.

With my cash balance I could get almost anyone, but it looks possible that next week we will have no viable bubble boys ... so I think a double downgrade this week might make sense.

Probably two out of Parsons, Black and EVW at this stage.

Should set me up nicely to pick off a couple of the premiums wih high breakevens over the next couple of weeks.

Fellas, I reckon I'm in a bit of a pickle. 28k in the bank.

Doch, Adams, Laird, Otten, MB, Newman (Hampton, Stewart)
Danger, JPK, Selwood, Pendles, Fyfe, Bont, Beams, SPP (Florent, Barrett, Deluca)
Nank, Sandi (Strn)
Dahl, Macrae, Higgins, Butler, Balic, Parfitt (Pickett, Eddy)

Think I have to bring in a premium ruck this week in order to cover Nank (and just in general beef my team up. However, I have 2 issues. A) I need one of Florent, Eddy or Pickett to play to cover him. B) who do I bring in? I'm basically stuffed I reckon, unless I think of something nifty. I think Cox gets dropped this week, so Grundy comes in, but it's kinda pointless if Florent/Eddy/Pickett doesn't get named. I do have to trade in a premium ruck to cover nank this week which sucks.

Parfitt and Otten to EVW and Grundy leaves me with about 3k left, but in a good position overall. Thoughts? Will leave me with 20 trades and 6 rookies on field.
You are in a bit of a hard place. Perhaps you could consider Cameron straight in for maybe Pickett if he gets named? I think it's a long shot for one of Florent, Eddy or Pickett getting a gig for you unfortunately.

The only other left field move I can see is perhaps Beams out for Grundy and Parfitt to Parsons to avoid a donut. Might just be better off copping it.

Good point. I'm hoping we get a couple of debuts this week, so that we at least have the option to go a week early on someone next week. The other backup option is simply to bring Myers in, think he will get a game eventually.

Yes, I was thinking the same things. The mids look particularly thin, at least in terms of those on the bubble this week or next. The last time I went early on a player it was Spencer, but I can see myself going early on Myers if structure and a lack of other options dictates it

Haha, I just sat there and worked around the figures, best I could come up with (I'd written an essay...) was what you'd already suggested! Haha.

I am faced with the same situation Darkie, as tempting as it is to bring Pendles in this week, I will go (probably) Hampton/Parfitt to EVW/Parsons which leaves me with 556k to have a little bit of fun upgrading next week, then maybe a one up one down with Myers in round 9

After initially considering a double downgrade I need to get docherty before he is out of reach, so have gone:

Hampton to evw
March bank to Docherty

Goldy appears done. Not sure if Jacobs is the best option, but will be safe as sole ruck.
Surprising to hear from a North supporter. Were you at the game on the weekend? Thought he looked quite good even though his score didn't suggest so. He ran Witts into the ground and worked hard up and down the ground. Don't be surprised to see his scores steadily rise :)

I've only watched 2 north games this season, and Goldy looked fairly lively in both, without getting rewarded on SC. Without knowing anything concrete, I'd guess he started with a few niggles that he is working through. Hoping that is class comes back out for the back half of the season.

Still good around the ground, but hasn't had a good ruck game since mid last year. Only 5 HAO on the weekend. Preuss or Daw could easily come in at some point too.

Cheers fellas. I think I just have to hope, and cop the donut if Florent/Eddy/Pickett don't play. Otherwise, could go Pickett and Parfitt to Cameron and someone, but don't think Cameron gets named personally.

Grundy in sets me up best for the rest of the season. Otherwise, could just DG if I'm going to cop the donut anyway. Tough one! Annoyed I got myself in this position tbh.

So.... Any chance Brett Eddy gets named this week?

Nank and Greene missing time to suspensions means if I go double down I either have to go double forwards or face a donut... Tough decision...

Former Eddy owner here... would be nice if Port didn't change a winning formula until R10/1.

Tough decisions this week was going to do a double downgrade this week but now with Nank out thinking it's a choice of playing Balic for Nank or upgrading Marchbank to Yeo pretty much finish my forward line. It then enables me to loop Balic in for Powell-pepper if he drops back to useless?
Or just play Balic and upgrade Marchbank to a Shaw/Williams/Hibberd type and not use any loop this week? Ranked 323rd without Danger so was hoping to have cash to bring him in next couple of weeks?
