Thanks
Was not trying to overstep the mark
Like many i really appreciate the work you guys put into this site and i'd back your stats against 'the machine' anytime...
Not overstepping at all...and I (along with Rowsus) are more than happy for others to chime in where they can. As the saying goes, 'many hands makes light work!'

FW is one of the better AFL stats site out there and I occasionally frequent there if I need to validate any of my analysis work.

I just wanted to point out and convey my experiences that every now and then there would be a 'missed' stats depending on the format your viewing at the time.

Awesome work fellas, this is why SCS is the best fantasy site by a mile. The info may or may not be used to select players for a certain competition that is being run on this site by a very good mate of mine.

Especially now that there's an extra cash incentive to do so...:p

G’day Rows,

Are you looking at any out and out forwards?
Just wondering about your thoughts on Charlie Dixon, Buddy and Tom Lynch (Adel)
Like most fwds I guess you are always in it for the ride but they do seem to end up averaging quite well.
The other question was around Luke Ryan (freo) and Marchbank. Bit of a risk but disposal efficiency I think was ok for Ryan and Marchbank is highly rated and I think can fill Dochertys role quite well to improve his scores. He just needs to improve his kicking efficiency.

Howdy Rowsus.

I noticed that you were considering a Gawn, Goldy, Lycett ruck line. Any reason as to not using Ryder instead of Goldy?

Hi Abad,
intercept marks, especially inside the Defensive arc, are SC gold! You pretty much nailed it. When Yeo plays Mid, he just doesn't get enough of the pill, or impact the game enough. When he plays Def, especially the loose man in Def, his play reading and marking skills raise his SC scoring to another level.
Cheers mate. How about Petracca? Do you see his supercoach output increasing 15 points to make him a keeper and a decent selection?

Also mate, I remember reading some great stuff of your's about the teams who key forwards would commonly have a day out against. I'm thinking Goldy as a captain/vice captain could be a clever POD this season - are you able to offer your genius as to which teams ruckmen score well against?

G'day Slam,
at different stages I have had all three in my team, and yesterday all 3 were together in my team!
Dixon has the ceiling and a decent draw, Lynch has the best Draw for a Key Forward in the first half of the season (even though GC don't have a home game early on), and Buddy is Buddy!
As you suggested, it's a real rollercoaster ride, so timing can be key with this type of player. Currently I have Dixon and Lynch, and no Buddy.
I've thought about Marchbank, and the Docherty role. I'm actually convinced it won't be one player filling that role, so we shouldn't get a headache from trying to figure out who best benefits from it. The thing that put me off Marchbank in the end, is I think he will play 3rd tall Def when playing against teams with a tall Forward line. That role can be SC unfriendly sometimes.
Luke Ryan. Luke Ryan. Luke Ryan. ........
Let's break his season into two parts:
Rnds 19 & 20: Ave marks taken 15 - Ave SC 126.0
His other 9 games: Ave marks taken 4.4 - Ave SC 65.9
He's not going to take 16 marks too often in a game, which was actually the highest recorded in 2017.
Even if you wanted to give him 3 or 4 games of that caliber in 2018, can you see him in the other games, where he doesn't take 12+ marks, increasing his score enough to make him a good pick? 2nd year player, awkwardly priced, not for me.

I think the biggest hurdle ALL the young Melbourne players face, in SC terms, is there is just so many of them!
Established Mids: Oliver, Jones, Tyson, Lewis, Viney (when he's back)
Those looking to get a crack at it: Petracca, Neal-Bullen, Stretch, Brayshaw, Melksham, Harmes.
There will be games when all 11 play. That's slicing the pie pretty thin. Great for Melbourne, bad for SC Coaches. I actually think Harmes is really underated, and has the making of a good inside Mid. But, outside of potentially Oliver, can any of the others score at a good SC level, when there is just so many of them!

By jingoes Juzzo, you're right! :)
I don't see Lynch (Ade) as "an out and out" forward, that's why mind immediately went to GC's Lynch.
He plays a "high connector" type role, and I think he's established, that outside of a potential spike season, he's around an 88/game player.

Yeah that’s right... I was referring to Lynch from Adel.
With Walker struggling to be fit for Rd 1 I have been looking at him closely.

In 2015 they played all 21 games together. The Crows only played 21 in 2015.
In 2016 Lynch played 1 game without Walker for 79, he averaged 87.5 that season.
In 2017 Lynch played 1 game without Walker for 36, he averaged 85.7 that season.
There doesn't appear to be any positive lead for Lynch, when Walker misses.

Hmmm.. Thanks Rows ... thought it would be a little different.
Gibbs addition may also assist him as he is another good user of the ball and may hit him a bit more on the lead

Stepping Stones

Was looking at Ellis-Yomen but not sure anymore. Is he still on your radar?
Also JOM.. do you consider him as a stepping stone?
Injury risk is my concern but looks to be moving ok.
I currently have Cripps and JOM but not confident on either.
Cripps I find interesting. Awkwardly priced. Everyone is jumping on him but he still has
to step it up a notch and remain there all season to be a keeper. Is he in your side?
